Jeffrey Archer, the convicted perjurer? Oh.

RedRiverShore6 · Today 22:22

I also loved his books, he was on BBC breakfast about a week ago for his new book and looked fighting fit, jumping up and down, had recovered from prostate cancer I think,

RIP Jeffrey

burnoutbabe · Today 22:25

Davros · Today 22:25

Jeffrey Archer, the convicted perjurer? Oh.

Most of them are, they just don't necessarily make it to court...

Jeffrey Archer, the convicted perjurer? Oh.

He was an amazing speaker too, heard some of his interviews on writing, very inspiring

PaisleyTablecloth · Today 22:30

Jeffrey Archer, liar, bully, convicted criminal and user of prostitutes?

Porkpieandmustard · Today 22:31

He was on Broadcasting House on Sunday morning with the lovely Paddy O’Connell. I didn’t like JA but he sounded full of life and enthusiastic about his writing. I was surprised to hear he had died.

Lomonald · Today 22:35

Oh i saw him being interviewed recently last week i think on Bbc. Breakfast, what a. Shame.

This!
This is WAY more important than his inspiring speeches or his qualities as an author.

And yet, here we are.
Women are our own worst enemies.

dustabsorber · Today 22:37

He was 86, that's old for a man, very old for an ex-con.

Jeffrey Archer, the plagiarist, admitted thief, and adulterer who bought women for sex? Oh.

CleanSkin · Today 22:38

Yes he wrote a good tale.
However it’s the other stuff - use of sex workers, deceit, perjury, Tory - that means I won’t mourn him.

queenofnorthsheen · Today 22:38

I was always suspicious that the prostitute died in a “hit and run”.

dontgiveafigso · Today 22:39

He was so dodgy and a habitual liar. The stories he made up about himself point to an out and out narcissist

Yes. The only thing Jeffrey Archer loved was Jeffrey Archer.

Exactly, he was a truly vile individual, sociopathic. Anyone who can lie so freely in court is a dangerous person, a court case he himself brought against the Star for libelling him! They had correctly claimed he had sex with a prostitute. Poor Monica Coughlan. How anyone can wax on about his books and deny the reality of his sordid and disgusting past is just beyond me.

I can't be doing with the man, but it must have been splendid to do a day's work then sign off. Not a bad way to go.

A friend of mine was HoD English at SE London school in a deprived area, and they had JA in to talk about his books and writing. He tactfully turned up in a Mini and was apparently wonderful: entertaining, informative and entirely uncondescending.

Yes me too. The poor woman.

Random321 · Today 22:51

Death doesn't make someone a good person OP.

I'd prefer to reserve my respect for those who deserve it.

What a terrible example to pull this loathsome man into a school to talk to children about his writing.

penelopelady · Today 22:52

How easily envelopes are forgotten.

Summerlovingtheraspberries · Today 22:52

Why is anyone shocked he has died?
It’s not like he was 20 and a good person.
