Did you ever wonder about your husband after the Gisele Pelicot case?

I’m a lesbian (thank god!) so I’ve got no skin in this game but I read something on here earlier about the sheer number of seemingly ordinary men who participated in the rape of Gisele Pelicot. I’m assuming their own wives had no idea either. It’s not only horrific but got me wondering are most men actually like this, walking around pretending to be normal but actually have these sick fantasies they’re just waiting for the opportunity to act out? And that got me wondering if you’re married to a man, did the Gisele Pelicot case ever lead you to suspect your own husband could have ever done anything like this, if not to you, to another woman? If so, how did you cope with it?

I stand by my point

It's disturbing that you make everything a MALE problem
putting everyone in the same bag
AND removing any role from us. Why, we don't have a voice? We can't express ourselves, we can't protest as well?

Where are they protesting on the streets against the rapist currently sitting in the White House are you? What's stopping you?

Male violence is a male problem.

Women (yes, including me, though my contribution is tiny compared to those who went before me) have been protesting, speaking out, speaking up for centuries. Men need to step up.

Sorry you find that such a controversial take.

Unexpectedlysinglemum · 01/10/2026 11:41

My friend was raped age 22 by someone who is in our social circle who is now married with kids and has a successful business and wife and organizes stuff for homeless people etc. she recently told people including the man’s mother, and no one cares. The mum said they were both drunk etc.

I've been woken by sex, and I've woken my partner by giving blow jobs. We're in a relationship not randoms off the street.

And I assume this has been discussed and agreed on in advance AND you are both happy with this.

Otherwise, you have fundamentally and spectacularly missed the point that women waking up to find someone having sex with them without their prior consent is rape.

yours?

Yes.

Insulting someone without bringing anything to the discussion is a bit childish isn't it

Childish 😆 oh the irony

So if women think there male partnes are like this why on earth do you have kods with them? These men would then be fathers of children, don't women care about children?

That is the point women don’t think their male partners are like this until they are caught.
Even those set up in stings for talking to minors only, they’re always catching professional married man as well as men with learning disorders.
Everyone thinks that it is someone else’s man.

Male violence is the problem of the males who commit it.

I don't believe in some weird "brotherhood" any more than I believe in a ridiculous "sisterhood". We all need to step up, it's not up to men more than women to "speak out". Normal male are not more at fault than women, why would they be.

Some men and women havebeen speaking up for centuries, as you said.

You're the one who seem to have a problem with people not agreeing with you

TheOccupier · 01/10/2026 14:39

rubixsphere · 30/09/2026 11:34

Highly unlikely most men are like this. It's horrifying the number of men involved but it was over a 10 year period and the men were recruited through online swinger sites. Most men don't use swingers sites. This is a shocking case, but also very rare. You don't hear about cases like this everyday.

Also you say thank god but women on woman rape cases are more prevalent than Gisele Pelicot cases.

This is absolute nonsense. There's no such thing as "woman on woman rape" - rape is defined under UK law as involving penetration with a penis.

Lugol · 01/10/2026 14:48

dontforgetofeedthecat · 01/10/2026 09:18

clearly

and so are the many women, journalists, and other men who wanted to see the content by themselves?

How do you think it came out in the news?

80 million visits doesn't mean 80 million rapists.

Given that there has been at least two cases of the same crime in the UK alone recently, I think I'll hang fire on thinking 80 million views to a rape academy website being all journalists 🙄

How fucking ridiculous. Why are you assuming that there aren't men interested in doing this to their wives and partners?

If we consider Cornell university, then yes, men need to speak out.

If you aren't part of the solution and all that.

I'm guessing you're a man.

TheOccupier · 01/10/2026 14:50

All those women saying that they know their husband wouldn't do what Dominique Pelicot did, that they'd find out, etc etc - yes, you're most likely right. That's unbelievably evil and also involved a lot of calculated risk. And there were signs that thanks to Gisele Pelicot's bravery, we would now be more likely recognise.

But how many of the men who crept out in the night to rape Gisele Pelicot in her own bed were someone's husband?

Lugol · 01/10/2026 14:50

Yet again another thread crawling with rape apologists.

Wonder why that might be. 🙄

that's not what I said at all, why do you need to put everything to extremes? Does that help you in anyway?

I said the high number just showed that everybody went to see what the website was all about, not that every single visit was made by someone looking for practical advice.

If you want to believe that "80 million" rapists went on that website, knock yourself out.

Maeve0098 · 01/10/2026 15:04

This is a seemingly pointless thread because GP had no idea her husband was capable of this, and just look at Bonnie Blue, all those men lined up to have sex with her, nearly all likely had wives, girlfriends, sisters, female friends etc

We will never truly know our partners, we can believe that they are good because the alternative is unthinkable. Just like women who believe that their partner doesn’t watch porn, but the reality is that the majority of men do.

Happy that your out of it thou ☺️
Men can be so manipulative can't they !
I'm glad I met my DH he honestly is one of the decent ones I count myself lucky I'm with him x

I'm glad you are with a nice one.

Weirdly I would also have said mine was nice. Safe, borderline dull, middle class, would claim to be a feminist, did more housework than any other DHs. I literally had no idea how much he resented me for it and for not always servicing him sexually on demand until he left me for someone else and said he'd been miserable for years. Even when he complained to me that I made him feel like a sex pest. The sheer fucking audacity of that statement, and more fool me for not saying at the time, well stop being one then, dickhead, rather than feeling guilty for not doing what he wanted even though it was pretty much the only time he pretended to have any interest in me. Shudder. I can't believe I was so blind to it all. When we split up I did tell him how disgusting he made me feel, and his perception was that our sex life was a highlight of our relationship. Even though it was abundantly clear I didn't want him to touch me and he persistently did. I assume he would be surprised if I told him that he'd been sexually assaulting me. It's so normalised in our society they can fool themselves it's ok.

This is the trouble it is normalised and we are seeing alot of misogyny now towards woman and girls from.a.newer generation of men !
At some point I thought women were being heard and were getting their voices heard and standing their ground and now we are awash from the backlash of that with this new lot of men !!
Certain men just can't have woman being a strong woman and the like of the Andrew tates in the world have definitely made it a lot worse this is a world we live in it's embedded in in their DNA I reckon ( not all men ) but a hell of a lot and social platforms spreads the word like bloody wild fire !!!!
