What would the Left call the Right, if the small boat people were white?

I'll start by saying, I am very anti open boarders, and I am horrified that so many illegal immigrants are arriving every day. But for me, it has absolutely nothing to do with skin colour, it is more to do with :

ONE) They have no documentation, and we have no idea if they have criminal backgrounds

TWO) They tend to come from cultures where women are not respected

THREE) They often come from places where rape is not a crime

FOUR) They cannot work, and it is costing Millions to house, feed and clothe them

FIVE) We are granting asylum to some people who should never get it - like the Hamas bodyguard we heard of yesterday

Lots of valid reasons I feel, however, for me, it has nothing to do with skin colour. If I had to be locked in a room overnight with a white man from a backward culture, or a black man from the UK, I would choose the latter, every single time.

It isn't colour, it's culture

But I see that people on the Far Left just scream "Racist" to anyone who opposes illegal immigration. What would they scream, if all the small boats were full of white men? And would people still march for England?

Not safe from the men in power there. No one is inviting the Taliban to claim asylum here.

Hiw do we know?

ImmortalNowBabyDoll · 29/09/2026 13:22

I'd still call you racist, because believing that coming from another culture makes someone an automatic threat is still racist.

Ah bless. Not being naive doesn't make you racist. 😂

Full....try thinking about the fact the government state we have to build 250,000 houses per year. Despite the birth rate being essentially zero.

Try reading the thread about the delays in cancer treatment

Try thinking about the 1.5 million unemployed

Try thinking about the massive increase in rental property prices but stagnant wages during the period of open EU borders

That's why we are full

Try steering away from the kind of unsophisticated analysis that seeks to reduce complex problems to simple solutions.

Just because our own men rape, doesn't mean it's a good idea to allow more men (from cultures where rape is not a crime) to enter our Country and compound the problem. It makes no sense.

In which counties is "rape not a crime"?

Which countries have " we" made unsafe in our lifetimes?

Hong Kong.

funnily enough their refugees don’t tend to come on the boats because we voluntarily offered c.180000 of them visas to settle here since 2020. By comparison, 39000 people from Afghanistan have been resettled here in the same time period… just saying…

Let's adapt @Blondiebeachbabe's question then.

if you had to spend one hour in a locked hotel room with 5 men from Afghanistan or 5 men from Hong Kong, which option would you choose and why?

Are the HKers commuting multiple multiple rapes and murders?? No because for the most part they are a civilised and intelligent bunch

Arriving by small boat is irregular It is almost daily.

Then, there is the fact that they aren't given "loadsamoney" they are housed and paid subsistence, but it isn't an open cheque book. I certainly wouldn't want to live on what they're given Which would encourage crime, like stealing or working illegally to top up funds.

The current labour government have already deployed additional resource to processing and are returning twice as many as arrive They are returning twice as many as arrive? Would love some stats to show this.

Even if an asylum claim is granted, the status is reviewed periodically to evaluate whether the circumstances are still valid. If they aren't, the individual is deported What if they have disappeared without a trace? How are they deported, by what means and where to?

It would be much better to deploy even more resource to clearing the backlog, and I am still curious as to why the rule to make it impossible to claim asylum unless you are here has not been revoked Agreed!

It is almost daily.

Yes, but it is also 40% lower than last year, and a very small part of the overall arrivals. As such, there are other areas to focus on that would lower the overall problem.

Which would encourage crime, like stealing or working illegally to top up funds

If they keep increasing the resource to clear the processing backlog, they won't be here long enough to commit crime. Besides, if you look at the stats, and take, say, the recent demonstrations, women are at more risk from the protesters than they were from the arrivals.

They are returning twice as many as arrive? Would love some stats to show this.

Gov.uk, ONS, and most reputable news outlets (Reuters / Bloomers etc).

What if they have disappeared without a trace? How are they deported, by what means and where to?

They are the true illegal immigrants. They appear in no stats as they have disappeared without a trace. Nor do they get any money, health care or accommodation as they have disappeared.

KnorRoar · 29/09/2026 18:22

People move to HK for careers (especially women). No one moves to Kabul even before the Taliban

BIossomtoes · 29/09/2026 18:23

What would they scream, if all the small boats were full of white men?

Xenophobia.

ToWhitToWhoo · 29/09/2026 18:25

Well, during the 30s the term would have been 'antisemitic'. Many people were against letting in Jews who were attempting to flee persecution. The Daily Mail frothed about it.

But yes, the best term is 'xenophobic'.

It's been nearly 100 years since. Things have changed. I don't think Jewish refugees were raping and murdering locals?

So what did the BRITISH do to Hong Kong then? The people coming from there weren't refugees

It was China that caused the restrictions tjere

And are these government men coming to the UK on small boats?

In Iran marital rape isn't a crime

Yes, and that's absolutely awful, but it really isn't that long since it became a crime in this country. So let's not put ourselves on too high a pedestal.

And while we're on that subject, yes, it's fucking horrific that women in places like Afghanistan and Iran face so many barriers to justice, but let's not forget that only around 2% of rapes reported to the police in our own country result in convictions, and there will be many more cases which don't get reported at all.

There are many countries where women's rights are in an absolutely dire state, with Iran and Afghanistan being prime examples. But their struggles do not necessarily reflect the views of all Iranian and Afghan men, any more than the fact of marital rape having been legal in the UK when I was a child would have made our fathers and grandfathers guilty of believing that rape was ok.

I can't comprehend how you can even attempt to compare women's rights in Afghanistan or Iran to here. It's utterly bizarre and frankly, insulting.

It wasn't in the UK either, until about 30 years ago.

There ARE real concerns to be had about unrestricted immigration from more socially conservative countries. But a lot of the people who are most anti-immigration also campaign to go back to more socially conservative times in the UK. Islamist fundies and Tommy Robinson fundies have a lot more in common than they'd like to admit!

Agree. So many horrors, and not even a voice on a forum or the internet to talk about it.

LuckyHazelFox · 29/09/2026 18:41

If the small boat people were white, they would be left without a paddle. In fact, would the left have afforded them a paddle in the first place?

Exactly. And to minimise the extreme suffering, to what end? To Score mythical political points on a forum for women/mothers. You can't make it up.

KnorRoar · 29/09/2026 18:43

EasternStandard · 29/09/2026 18:29

I do not understand why people don't take this into account. Just because men are fleeing an oppressive government doesn't mean that they are magically feminist and hold lovely views of women.

Someone can flee an oppressive regime and still hold horrible views about women.

All bets are off with women supporting fellow women. Apparently I'm a gay bloke.

Open arms for Ukrainian people but poor souls fleeing from war on boats not welcome as not white. It's blatant
