I should've coughed up for a Mumsnet subscription ages ago

Having suffered the umpteenth browser memory failure of the day and reached meltdown point with pages jumping all over the place due to my ad blocker - I've subscribed 🥳 Thirty quid a year for a seamless Mumsnet experience.

I've only been a subscriber for 20 minutes or so, and my stress level has already halved! It's cheaper than Netflix, and I spend more time on here tbh.

Is this a not-so-subtle advert for MN Premium?

Homemerge · 22/08/2026 14:14

Not a subscriber
and no issue whatsoever
Adblock

Absolutely 😂 Unsolicited, at that. I'm a happy customer!

Duckduckgo does the same for free. Have to name change in another browser but that's OK with me.

FeliciaFancybottom · 22/08/2026 14:17

I'm not a subscriber (and never will be), and my experience is seamless. I have an ad blocker that causes zero issues.

Homemerge · 22/08/2026 14:17

I’d love to know how many subscribers this has.

I am imagining…. Possibly triple figures. Possibly. At most.

Disturbia81 · 22/08/2026 14:17

Never had any issues with the free version, never would pay for this or any forum/news

Sure. But mine (Malwarebytes) evidently didn't block everything, as evidenced by the browser crashes. And I kept clicking on the wrong threads because of the index pages jumping up after the header advert had been removed 🤷‍♀️

Brave browser. I use it for MN and YouTube, zero ads.

Well then you should have found an alternative

I literally have zero ads

Why don't you use it for everything?

MN and YouTube are whores to ads
other sites aren’t nearly as bad

HumptyDump · 22/08/2026 14:20

Mine is great without spending a penny

Manename · 22/08/2026 14:21

Can’t remember- are there any other benefits and is no ads or fewer ads?

I wouldn't be using separate browsers for different websites, though. I'm not that organised, I like Chrome, and £2.50 a month is worthwhile to me for the convenience.

I don’t need to with Adblock

That poster obviously just chooses to do it like that

Ratherhaveacupofteaandabiscuit · 22/08/2026 14:25

Me too.
I subscribed about a year ago after constant frustrations with adverts making MN unusable.

Worse still the ads made my ipad and phone freeze even after I closed the site.

It was hugely annoying and felt like blackmail via the intrusive ads but ultimately I spend the money because I like be able to use the site without adverts driving me absolutely mad.

No ads, not even Mumsnet ones. Some other tiny benefits like instant user search instead of having to AS, and there was some guff about early access benefits that I won't use.

Why did you not just install AdBlock? It's free and does exactly the same thing.

You can click ‘See all’ on a poster’s posts and see all their posts on a thread.

very small benefit 🤣

I think you also get much longer to edit your post than the 5 minutes everyone else gets.

FeliciaFancybottom · 22/08/2026 14:28

What are the exclusive features that you're paying for?

20thCenturyFecks · 22/08/2026 14:28

I've got the free account and don't have any problems regardless of what browser I use.

Goodness they really did scrape the barrel didn’t they with this “premium” version?
