To report my colleagues fantasy football team name?

We have a work fantasy football league, it’s advertised on the internal intranet site and emails were sent around about sign up details etc.

The league has gone live tonight so you can see everyone’s team including their team names.

A colleague has a team name which references stopping the boats - would it be wrong of me to report this?

Of course, it's Friday night.

Such a thing would be absolutely against my company's policies. I might wait to see if they get suitably embarrassed rather than reporting immediately though,

As someone who works managing intranets etc, I would flag up to HR. They should have a way to keep this confidential (as in you reporting it) and the skills to address this as an unacceptable action in a professional workplace.

I think if it’s a poorly thought out pun, like “stop the boots” or something that might be stupid but probably not malicious, and I knew the person, I would probably mention it to them first so they can change it. Otherwise yes, flag it

Why would you need to report it when it's live on the intranet?

A fantasy football team is a bit of fun. You might be taking it too seriously.

I suppose it’s refreshing to have someone admit they don’t want to stop the boats unlike the government (and previous Tory government) pretending they do when obviously they don’t.

Bloody hell get ratted on over everything this is why i choose to work at home now.

Lady in my past job would report everything from some bad joke to someone drinking out the wrong cup.
Job before that i met another office grass that would report you if you went to the bog too many times, same woman reported me for going to tescos in my lunch break.

Every work place has a work place grass.

I don't think it's the fantasy football thing the op has a problem with.

Talk to him about your views and his inappropriate sense of humour. The positive is that you have found out that you have someone with limited political engagement and intelligence before any more damage can be done.
