To report my colleagues fantasy football team name?

We have a work fantasy football league, it’s advertised on the internal intranet site and emails were sent around about sign up details etc.

The league has gone live tonight so you can see everyone’s team including their team names.

A colleague has a team name which references stopping the boats - would it be wrong of me to report this?

But genuinely, report for what?

Reporting colleagues to HR for their (legal, mainstream) political views is abhorrent.

Unless all mention of politics by staff is a reportable matter. But that seems unlikely.

I agree but also the name doesn't actually reference any politics.

Op could report the name and the colleague could just say "yeah, my mate Nige is a goalie for our 5 aside team...he stops the goals"

Nothing about the sentence "Nige will stop them" is offensive or inappropriate, nor does it mention stopping boats or anyone....op has chosen to interpret it that way

Everybody wants to stop the boats, so no, the name shouldn't be reported.

Well, yes, everyone who can weigh the situation up for its fiscal and security values. Virtuous platitudes don't count.

Didn't people in England want to stop the Romans invading England by boats?

Didn't people living in England during the Viking invasion want to stop the boats?

Didn't people in England want to stop the Norman invasion by boats?

Yet I bet all of you love a Roman ruin, love visiting York and as for Norman churches and castles, they still stand and are much loved.

What does this mean? That one day we can enjoy visiting the scorched ruins of our 2020 existence?

Yes let's have a laugh about the last invasion I forgot to mention. The fascist Hitler and WW2. The bombings and thousands killed. Lest we forget.

Thankfully those boats were stopped. Churchill, as a consequence of peace, engaged with Europe post the war and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland became founders of the European Court of Human Rights, ECHR.

Only to see those laws designed to protect peace exploited to allow rapists and murderers to stay in the country because their child likes a British chicken nugget.

Yes, there's nothing like a bit of light-hearted xenophobia to brighten up the day, is there?🙄

So you think any sort of controlled immigration is xenophobic?

Presumably your occupation is not doing fantasy football and this league is just something that you and your colleagues do outside of work time unless your employer pays you to play fantasy football? In which case this has nothing at all to do with work and you are just using it to have a go at someone with different views to yourself? Not a very nice thing to do.
