Disney loving men

What are you thoughts on Disney loving men? It’s one of the things that contributed to my divorce I would say. Am I wrong here?

his obsession really got out of control in the end and it Really put me off. He was spending money on this hobby. A middle aged man tweeting about princess movies and obsessing over Mickey Mouse. He’s into other stuff that is similar but would be too outing to discuss. When he likes something he REALLY likes it.

we do have kids that show a moderate interest in Disney, I would say a normal level for kids. they are actually older and kinda moving away from it now anyway.

would this put you off? Or was I unreasonable?

Yep, I’ve read the thread and mostly it’s just depressing and full of people who thinks it’s acceptable to shit on what makes other people happy.

There’s a difference between not liking something and openly verbalising it to the point that you’re calling someone weird, odd and (as other posters have said) in need of some kind of intervention simply because they like something you don’t.

The OP isn’t about liking Disney (each to their own) - it’s about a consuming obsession with it…er, especially the princesses. I would have a problem with that in a man.

We are currently organising our trip for Halloween next year! It’ll be our first time going for the Halloween stuff so we can’t wait!

I did the Asian theme parks at Halloween and they were amazing! Such great costumes worn (and no extra paid parties, just a normal day ticket)

we also do Disney parks on holidays abs just done a cruise. I have mickey pyjamas (which I mostly only buy pre a Disney holiday to wear then). Not sure I have seen a Disney movie as an adult (bar marvel and Pixar) but the parks are great entertainment (same for universal) for a fun holiday.

but the op’s husband is obsessed which could be football or trains etc. Blaming the actual object of the obsession isn’t fair.

Except the thread has evolved from that and is full of posters calling Disney adults weird, odd and in need of help.

OP’s husband could be obsessed with golf or coins or running - it’s the level of obsession that’s the issue, not the interest in Disney on its own.

But I shouldn’t be surprised - MN is always quick to criticise anyone who has a hobby or interest they don’t approve of. It’s the same with video games.

Have you read all the comments on this thread? I think the general consensus is Disney obsessed adults regardless of sex are a bit odd. Like someone else said MN is where you can be brutally honest and say what you really think without holding back. Obviously in real life we would all keep these opinions to ourselves when coming across a Disney obsessed adult. Everyone judges, come on, there must be things in life you can’t abide too.

It's lucky then that us Disney lovers don't give a rat's arse what you think? 😂😂😂 Go be miserable on your own and we'll have fun! ❤️

With Disney I suspect it's a deliberate marketing strategy to encourage Disney Adults. These people don't even have to pester their parents for merch, they can buy it themselves.
