Who peeked?
Megsdaughter · 12/08/2026 19:37

It just went a bit grey here in Wiltshire when I peeked. Very underwhelmed. Much better in Dorset in 1999.

JazzyJelly · 12/08/2026 19:37

Yep, still seeing spots.

I had a dark glass.

That was a better idea i bet you see it good on that and you haven't got to worry about waking up blind tomorrow like the rest of us

Oh yes. But by acident the sun was so bright just over my fence and I looked up to see my cat and looked strait at sun! The angle was just wrong for coming out of the back door. Trying not to panic cause feel slight funny after!

bluebirdsandblueskies · 12/08/2026 19:41

@p0pplei did too and now I’m convinced im
blind. I didn’t even see anything as the light was so bright. Was only for a second or two

username2185 · 12/08/2026 19:42

Yes! But how underwhelming lol

JBJ · 12/08/2026 19:43

I took photos on my phone. Phone seems to have survived 🤣

AutisticMumOf2 · 12/08/2026 19:43

Apparently the blindness doesn't kick in straight away we may all wake up blind tomorrow.

RunAlongDoggy · 12/08/2026 19:45

Me! Will do it again if I'm here for the next one!

ProudWomanXX · 12/08/2026 19:46

It was good here (Herefordshire) and I had my arc welding visor on.

Some big grey clouds around, but didn't spoil the view.

Got quite dim light at max, and all the birds went quiet and to roost (we have Jackdaws here, and they are bloody noisy when they roost, they are a bit confused now it's sunny again!)

Lorrymum · 12/08/2026 19:47

I walked the dog and the desire to look because we had all been warned not to was ridiculous. I feel like a kid told not to look at my Christmas presents before the big day.
Couldn't resists a quick sneaky. sideways glance.

Peachy2005 · 12/08/2026 19:48

That’s just a pic of the shadow of a colander though…am I missing something? 😂

socks1107 · 12/08/2026 19:48

Yes 🤭. Didn’t really see anything either!

LBFseBrom · 12/08/2026 19:50

Can't 'of'?

Peeked at what?

semantlename · 12/08/2026 19:50

Me too.

ThatLilacTiger · 12/08/2026 19:51

Twice, with sunnies on 😬 Only for a split second though.

youalright · 12/08/2026 19:51

Me too. Can still see 👍

PeasOff · 12/08/2026 19:53

Accidentally glimpsed it while trying to line up my piece of cardboard with a hole in it 🙃

The two blokes I was speaking to are going to be fucked though as they'd been full on staring at the sun for 20 mins waiting for the eclipse and continued to do so during the eclipse. I said they'll need a trip to the optician's soon 😂
