Have LOVED saying 'full moon, half moon, total eclipse' to myself though 😄😩

I’m sitting outside and don’t see anything

I stared at the sun through a sieve and it looks the same as normal. I’m aware the sieve won’t do anything but the colander was in the dishwasher and I assumed it was better than nothing.

Cloudy where I am, bugger.

I tgot quite dark here. Lightmeter went down from 150 to 12 but now it is increasing again. Point of maximum eclipse is over.

Actually it got darker than I thought it would. Maybe its because its in the evening so it becomes more apparent. Or maybe its because my house is quite dark anyway.

Overall verdict, slightly less meh than I expected it to be, but still wasn't fantastic.

It's not stopped the wood pigeons cooing, I thought the birds were supposed to be quiet? I'm quite liking the weird light. Cat's still sprawled across the landing, totally unfazed 😂

What a damp squib

Hardly saw anything. Was outside with colander and paper. Stupid moon.

The next 90%+ eclipse won’t be until 3 Sept 2081 (will be 100!) and next total eclipse 23 Sept 2090. So babies will be in their mid 60s!!!

I've been working flat out and forgot all about it. I just got excited because I thought the slightly darker sky outside meant we were in for some good heavy rain, but it seems not.

Not interested . I saw one in primary in the 50s . We were given pieces of cardboard with a pin hole in to watch it , we all retained our sight 😂

So Iceland gets a nice dark sky eclipse, in 1999 we didn’t get that I swear (was outside watching it in London). Not fair.

I remember the eclipse in 1999 - it went very cold, that got goosebumps.

It was a slight anti climax really! But still - glad to have participated even if it was just me and the dog sitting in the garden.
