Butt on display at lunch in south of France

I am currently having lunch in a beach restaurant and a girl with a lovely toned body is wearing a tiny thong with full ass on display. This seems to be a fashion thing and there are lots of women wearing the same cheese cutter! People are staring and some women are laughing. I find it a horrible trend and I am wondering what others think.

On a beach in Provence a couple of years ago and most women were either topless or covered up, especially younger ones. Didn't see any topless teenagers at all.
But the number of naked middle aged men was eye boggling. Well, naked except for their man-bags (not a euphemism).

The men were often accompanied by their chic, bikini wearing wives and daughters. Guess which sex looked better? Clue — far too many raw-looking sunburned male genitals on display….

It does seem to be the summer of butt cheeks everywhere. I was just at a festival and the common look was those big frilly knickers pretending to be skirts but all showing a proportion of cheek. In the dark ages when I was young that frilly pants look was to cover a nappy when a toddler wore a dress. Guess the manufacturer found another market 😂

Well then perhaps me being wedged in between the 90s and the 20s made me a prude but it was really weird to see.

Actually the ladies laughing were French mid 50’s and very slim and stylish. It’s not about the size of the woman or the bikini it’s about not covering up your bare arse at lunch on uncleanable seats. On the beach do what you like! It is about standards.

So it's proper on the beach if the chairs get stuck in the sand. In which case I would guess there's more people around in swimwear and it's simply that you don't approve of hers?

I live in SOF and like PP said, most resturants wouldn't allow you in dressed in swimwear. Even our local supermarche has a sign saying no swimwear, bare chests, feet etc.

If they're happy to wonder around like that fair do's.

Gross. No one wants to see ass cheeks when tucking into lunch. On the beach - fine. Not a restaurant though. That’s what cover ups are for.

Some clothing is fine for day bathing in but cover up when you move away from the beach/sunbed

Meh. It’s not my butt. There is only a certain number of years in your lifetime when you have the body and the balls to display your body with pride.

Respect their youth. I definitely wore questionable clothes in the early 2000’s. Thankfully cheese cutters weren’t in fashion ATT.

This is a 'beach restaurant', i.e. a restaurant on the beach with the chairs sinking into the sand.

While a thong would not be my choice of beach wear, beach wear is pretty standard for what is essentially a beach bar on the sand.

It's like in a restaurant guys are meant to wear shirts and ladies wear a sarong, skirt or shorts. I don't want to see a bare arse on a seat when I am eating lol
