To think Count Binface is doing a great job in the Clacton by-election?

Count Binface has been out bigging-up Clacton and drawing attention to its potential.

It’s a really positive campaign.

I don’t think he’ll win but I’d love it if he did. I think he’d be brilliant.

And if he doesn’t, I think other candidates could learn a lot from his approach.

Agreed. I was thinking earlier if the whole voting populace of England were given a straight Binface/Farage ticket, the Count would walk it. Clacton is different (and of course they have the right to vote for who they want) but if everyone who didn't bother voting last time and everyone who voted Labour/Lib Dem/Tory/Green turns out for him on Thursday, he could beat Farage.

It's why I don't trust the more general polls - the consitutients of clacton on sea are different to main UK voting population.

I don't think binface will win - I think he will damage and has damaged Farage and reform across the wider electorate.

A survey by Survation for Mandate Research of voters in Clacton suggests Mr Farage would win 73 per cent of the vote , while his main rival Count Binface, could sweep up an estimated 20 per cent of the vote.
In an Ipsos poll asking the general public who they would vote for in a hyperthetical head-to-head, a third (33 per cent) of British adults said they would prefer Count Binface to win the race, while only 21 per cent back the Reform UK leader.

I hadn't seen latest Clacton only one - if 73% came out to vote for him I do think he could say he's got some sort of victory - would be higher than last election but dulled by major parties not standing against him.

The parlimentary investigation will resume - though it may not come to another by election but it could. I do think this will be brought up again and again to ridicule him and the election night photos may also haunt him in future.

Reform is not a political party (ie where there are members who can vote on party policies, elect a leader eg.) It's a limited company. Farage is showing us loud and clear that he does not believe in democracy ie people other than him having a say. He's a very, very dangerous man.

I think Farage will win because many Reform voters want Farage and that's that. The victory will be Pyrrhic because his vote share is likely to be smaller than in 2024 and he will have to return to the House of Commons, where the investigation into his funding sources will recommence. What would make for high drama would be for him to resign again, next week, triggering another by-election.

The Ipsos poll (not Clacton based) quoted above puts CB at 33% over NF at 21% . I suppose that isn't valid unless they made those polled sign an oath to say they have never so much as glanced at AIBU.

If I could I would vote for BinFace, not as a protest vote but I think he genuinely would represent Clacton and try and help the constituents, which is more than Farage has done

I can honestly say I've never wanted to see a Britiish politician go as much in my life, and that includes Thatch, who was many things I loathed but wasn't on the take and unfit for public office.

On the number of signs, I did see a comment from someone in Frinton who said that Reform had tried putting one up in his front garden without permission. So it might not reflect the true level of support.

I doubt it does. They’re throwing everything they’ve got at Clacton.

I hope Clacton benefits from all this. I’d be really sad if the attention just fades away after the media circus.

I hope at least some of the money thrown at the by-election benefits local businesses and people.

This what confuses me. Not just the HOC dress code but as Count Binface has a Title, surely he is illegible to stand as a candidate - unless he revokes that title?
