To think Count Binface is doing a great job in the Clacton by-election?

Count Binface has been out bigging-up Clacton and drawing attention to its potential.

It’s a really positive campaign.

I don’t think he’ll win but I’d love it if he did. I think he’d be brilliant.

And if he doesn’t, I think other candidates could learn a lot from his approach.

I’ve just watched the whole thing. I had seen clips before. Really good.

Whoever gets in needs to sort Clacton-on-Sea out. I was there at the carnival and the violence and litter outside McDonald’s after was frightening. Kids were filming a big fight

Glad that I haven’t seen anyone comment “Farage can get in the bin”.

The man dressed as a fox bowed out of the by-election because it was all getting a bit too silly. The only Fox left is Laurence Fox who doesn't actually dress as a fox which is disappointing.

He did put forward a green policy re solar panels but that was suggested by a ten year old...

He's one smart guy, funny and a good communicator even in a 'persona'.

I had hysterics when they were discussing the Odyssey film, he went into lengthy Homeric Greek, Alaistair Campbell says something like "I wouldn't go round Clacton talking Latin " and Rory Stewart chips in "It was Greek, Alaistair".

I studied Greek (Koine not Classical) as part of my degree and am pants, utter pants. It is hard though. That degree of fluency shows a really bright mind. I'm not sure when it was decided that being good at eg ancient languages was some sort of deficit, but it isn't.

He’s probably done more for Clacton in terms of raising its profile and boosting visitor numbers than anything else has done for years so for that alone he is doing better than Farage.

I’ve got a bit of a weird crush on him. I think it’s his weird accent.

CBF seems quite a smart man - he's certainly well educated and quick off the mark.
I hope he wins, truly. Would be wonderful and very much the British sense of humour if he did. Sometimes someone who's not a career politician city boy millionaire can do a much better job at understanding what people need.

What happens to it if he doesn’t get back in?

If Binface gets in, will he wear his bin outfit into parliament or does he have to turn up as Jon Harvey?

Said this elsewhere on here, but people coming into politics with a life history are valuable, really valuable. Denis Healy was a (very young) military beachmaster at Anzio, awful job. Dennis Skinner was a miner. Then you have President Zelenskyy, the comedian and voice of Paddington Bear who became something quite different, very quickly.

There are so many people in politics who have basically never done anything other than politics that those who have had other experiences should be encouraged.

Farage will win this election in Clacton by a good margin. He does I am afraid have strong local support. However, the real test will come after the ongoing review into how his party has been financed and what he himself has received. In my view Farage is a grifter successfully making money on fermenting discontent.

If everyone who voted for anyone except Farage in 2024 voted for Binface he’d walk it.

I thought that, but he’s on the ballot as Count Binface, not as Jon Harvey (according to the photo of the ballot paper in the post earlier anyway).

Sadly, it’s probably going to be a moot point anyway.

You can guarantee that if he is reelected, every possible Parlimentary standards committee will be waiting, with massive cross party support. I think he's spent too much time with his 'mate', the Orange Goon in Washington and thus thinks he's similarly untouchable. He's not.

I agree. And I think what’s come to light so far is the tip of the iceberg. The digging will be relentless.
