Count Binface has been out bigging-up Clacton and drawing attention to its potential.

It’s a really positive campaign.

I don’t think he’ll win but I’d love it if he did. I think he’d be brilliant.

And if he doesn’t, I think other candidates could learn a lot from his approach.

I agree that it’s a mess in that Farage should not have resigned.

But we are where we are. In the circumstances, it’s an opportunity to vote that actually could make a difference.

I'd never heard of the Naze tower before I saw his you tube piece on it.

From everything I have seen it looks like the town could do with some investment, but that it has potential.

I love the way he drops in sensible policies from time to time. He’s great. He’d have my vote.

He seems like he does care about Clacton. Maybe he would do a better job.

Utter waste of taxpayer money for Farage to call a byelection instead of actually answering questions about that dodgy £5 million donation. As amusing as Binface is, there are enough stupid/hateful people in Clacton that Farage will sadly get back in and be able to crow about his "victory."

I imagine that as a Space Warrior, Count Binface also uses a fair bit of fuel in his intergalactic travels.

I'm note sure Binface has ever put forward any green credentials. He "literally" flies billons of miles in each day from Sigma IX. If you want a green candidate vote for the man dressed a fox....

ETA They've apparently invited Farage on many times but he refused. No way is he going to be brave enough to be interviewed by those two!

I did read the costs have been higher than usual becuase there are so many candiates - higher printing costs.

If Farage does win - the parlimetary committee will re-start the investigation and one possible outcome is another by election.

I'm not local to Clacton so have no opinion on any of it really. But I did just last week visit the area and I was quite taken a-back by how many pro NIgel and Reform posters and flags I saw all over the place.

I've heard commentators on TV and social media talk about how the shear number of candidates is only going to split the anti Farage vote and he will probably get back in on that basis.

Rumour has it that Farage was advised that resigning and standing for re-election would get rid of the probe.

He was misinformed, and if he gets back in then the probe into that £5 million will just restart.

His standard of Parliamentary literacy is about as good as his abilities as a constituency MP.A phrase of my old grandmother's came to mind today which I think sums him up perfectly. Spiv.

Basically, he's stuffed either way, thankfully.

I can honestly say I've never wanted to see a Britiish politician go as much in my life, and that includes Thatch, who was many things I loathed but wasn't on the take and unfit for public office.
