To think Count Binface is doing a great job in the Clacton by-election?

Count down to Bin Day!

Count Binface has been out bigging-up Clacton and drawing attention to its potential.

It’s a really positive campaign.

I don’t think he’ll win but I’d love it if he did. I think he’d be brilliant.

And if he doesn’t, I think other candidates could learn a lot from his approach.

Can you explain?

I agree that it’s a mess in that Farage should not have resigned.

But we are where we are. In the circumstances, it’s an opportunity to vote that actually could make a difference.

I think it's hilarious that he resigned thinking it would end the investigation into the undeclared £5m bung, but it won't.

Bit of a pisser about all the money wasted by his idiocy, though.

BIossomtoes · 10/08/2026 18:29

I agree. And I think what’s come to light so far is the tip of the iceberg. The digging will be relentless.

When you think about it, what he's doing is utterly self destructive and I am bemused that he can't seem to see it. What is it? Arrogance? Stupidity? Possibily a noxious mix of both I suppose.

Darker · 10/08/2026 18:39

If we get Binface the money won’t be wasted.

If not, I am hoping that the debacle will lead to Nigel being defenestrated from both Parliament and The Reform Party.

Utter waste of taxpayer money for Farage to call a byelection instead of actually answering questions about that dodgy £5 million donation. As amusing as Binface is, there are enough stupid/hateful people in Clacton that Farage will sadly get back in and be able to crow about his "victory."

His victory over a bin?

That's what is so brilliant about this stunt. Farage will win, no doubt, but his opportunity to crow that he has public support has been taken out with the garbage.

BIossomtoes · 10/08/2026 18:52

All the other parties have pulled an absolute blinder here.

Ilovemsrachel · 10/08/2026 18:56

I know it’s unlikely, but it would be so fucking funny if binface won it. My fervent hope is that every single young person in the constituency will be mobilised to get out and vote alongside all the other anti-Faragists. God it would be beautiful.

boobot1 · 10/08/2026 13:02

Whole thing is a farce. No one should vote.

Of course they should vote - for Binface, the only sensible candidate.

I doubt Binface will actually win, but would love it if he did.

I'm in Essex, but not in the Clacton constituency, so no by-election for me. If I did live in Clacton then Binface would have my vote.

Farage is the joke candidate.

He crawls away back into obscurity.

’it’ being the investigation into the money?

He can refuse to cooperate, in which case he’ll be suspended from parliament and 10% of his constituents can demand a by-election. All the other parties would put up candidates in that one.

I doubt they would stand. They would still lose,

Why would they? Of course they’d stand. They’ve already explicitly said they will.

Badenoch, who is the North West Essex MP, continued: "When the proper process has run its course and there is a genuine contest, we will be there.

"I will put forward a serious candidate who understands that representing Clacton is a job — someone who turns up, listens, holds meetings and works for the people who live here.

"When the real choice comes, the Conservatives will be there and I hope we can earn your support."

Papyrophile · 10/08/2026 19:33

For now, I'm cheering on Binface.

They will still lose in all likehood. The people of Clacton love Farage for some reason. They have priced in his corruption.

More people voted against him than for him in 2024. How many times can Clacton go through the vicious circle of electing Farage, the investigation being rekindled, him being suspended and another by-election? It has to end somewhere. Even if the conclusion is Farage getting tired of it and giving up.

HeHasMyVote · 10/08/2026 21:09

I live in one of the villages in the constituency. Am often out and about driving through some of the neighbouring villages. It’s bloody depressing how many “I’m with Nigel” and “Reform” boards are up outside houses. I love living here, but Nigel seems really popular sadly.

One house I drove past has a great Binface display on the grass verge, a few boards and a very large bin with a face.

I voted today (postal vote). Opening the ballot paper felt like unrolling a medieval scroll it was so long 😂.

Binface got my vote. I don’t think it will do any good, but I can dream for a couple of days. I’m just praying that, if Farage wins, then the investigation is conducted asap and that he’ll be forced to go.

randomchap · 10/08/2026 15:30

Rumour has it that Farage was advised that resigning and standing for re-election would get rid of the probe.

He was misinformed, and if he gets back in then the probe into that £5 million will just restart.

Complete waste of money

😂😂😂 He’s such a knob 😂😂😂

EmailsaysOOO · 10/08/2026 22:13

My MIL is in the constituency and she says Count Binface has attended her church recently. She's so impressed that she's seriously considering voting for him. Either that or she'll abstain. She's annoyed that Farage triggered the election. She's generally a solid conservative voted. My flabber was ghast when she told me all this .

Darker · 11/08/2026 06:42

I hope that there are many more like your MiL, @EmailsaysOOO. I hope she braces the heat and casts her vote on the day.

I’ve been watching a few reels of people being interviewed in Clacton and a common theme is that ‘they are all at it’, that you can’t trust any MP not to line their pockets.

PermanentTemporary · 11/08/2026 06:56

There is a possible upside whatever happens. If by concerted effort Count Binface won, it would be absolutely amazing and a humiliation for Farage plus I think Binface has committed to doing the best job possible for Clacton. But if Farage wins, as he almost certainly will, there will be excellent footage of him with all the joke candidates, the investigation restarts, and he’s back in Parliament where he is actually subject to rules and constraints that clip his wings a bit.

paddleboardingmum · 11/08/2026 08:16

@EmailsaysOOO did Binface turn up at church in the actual bin?

Ralphschocolate · 11/08/2026 08:25

I live in the area and Farage and his cronies are running scared. They are knocking on doors every day and the amount of leaflets is enough to destroy a rainforest. I suspect he will still win but it's been fun watching Reform panic!

Aabbcc1235 · 11/08/2026 08:35

The absolute beauty of the count binface campaign is that he doesn’t have to win.

He just needs to pose enough of a credible threat that Reform has to seriously and genuinely defend itself against a bin. The campaign is the punishment! Although I would love it if he wins.

A reform win by a narrow margin against a bin is not the “proof of support by the people” that Nigel is looking for.

I would love to know whether this has happened by chance, or whether the main parties all cooked this up with count binface to break some of reforms popularist vote.

Darker · 11/08/2026 08:44

Reform councillors from my area have been going to Clacton to support Farage only to discover he is nowhere to be seen. It’s not endearing him to his supporters.

I think pretty much the whole of the UK would be happy if he won, we need something to cheer us all up!

Good job it's only a thought you have and not conclusive evidence.

It’s a thought a lot of us have. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t
