5th date last night, ended up back at mine and had sex. Have really enjoyed his company and green flags galore up to that point so it felt natural. This morning, he text to say how much he enjoyed last night and wants to see me again (he suggested a date idea). I replied agreeing and discussing potential dates which work. He then referred to last night and said ‘shame its not Cheltenham racing this time of the year as you would be a great jockey’. I played dumb and asked what he meant, he said he was just joking. Is that an acceptable joke for you because it feels a bit seedy for my liking?! But I do think a lot of him from dates so far.

It’s a compliment, laugh it off

If I'm attracted to someone enough to ride his dick enthusiastically then it's not going to bother me if he then refers to that later.

Such a disproprotionate number of people on this site who think any reference to sex at all is "grim". I assume that what they find grim is sex itself, with all the bodily fluids and such. If not I wonder what complimentary wording about sex afterwards they'd actually enjoy.

They wouldn’t because they probably don’t have sex or it’s pencilled in the diary for once every quarter

Quite.

You rode him enthusiastically

He referred to the same

How can that be grim?

And I’ll stand by my previous comment that OP behaved far worse by feigning ignorance and asking him to explain. If a bloke did that we’d all be rightly stating he was trying to shame her and that it was a massive red flag.

I think that covers it. There is nothing affectionate or tender about commenting on OP's enthusiastic riding of his cock! I think it's mortifying.

Why is it mortifying? Do you think it's shameful for a woman to enjoy sex, and therefore her enthusiasm must never ever be mentioned?

SuePer · 10/08/2026 13:23

lol at the responses.
Honestly people see to think unless it’s a pg lovemaking session with a mills and boon style note saying ‘thank you fair maiden for last night’ the bloke is some kind of pervert

' A pg lovemaking session' are you the op's unfortunate dp?! Confused

Sex is great as is talking about it. Comparing it to horseriding is just odd and so very unsexy I'd be surprised if he ever got another go tbh.

Yes nice guy sex is horizontal with the lights off. The way most of MN likes it apparently.

With the crimplene nightie hitched up just enough?

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 10/08/2026 13:26

The poor man wanted to let you know he's interested in a stable relationship but it just came out all wrong!!

Clarabell77 · 10/08/2026 13:30

NotAnotherScarf · 09/08/2026 23:23

What's he supposed to say "thanks for the fuck" yes its not great but " i had a wonderful time last night " seems a bit Barbara Cartland...

Better saying nothing than that. Surely he’d have shown his appreciation at the time.

Neigh. It's seen as the ;last straw on MN

Viviennemary · 10/08/2026 13:32

Yuck he sounds awful. I wouldn't be seeing him again.

When you were on top!!!

outerspacepotato · 10/08/2026 13:44

If wit was the target, he fell short.

GreenCaterpillarOnALeaf · 10/08/2026 13:45

I guess it just his way of saying you’re a top shagger. Bit cringe but not a capital offence imo.

I didn't say it was mortifying. I said that I would find it mortifying.

The OP said she found the message "seedy". Why don't you ask her about that.

KatyKan · 10/08/2026 13:49

Not every woman gets it right the first time on top. Take your compliments from where you can. Especially as you have been playing hard to get for the first four dates.😉.

😂😂

it’s rather obvious and not at all odd that sex and horse riding are compared.

Maybe next time he can squeeze her breasts making little honking like Benny Hill? Or slap her arse and text her giddy up the next day?

It's no wonder there are so many failing relationships on mn when women choose losers rather than be alone.

Arsenal25 · 10/08/2026 13:58

Thanks all. I know it might be seen as me over reacting but I’m going to end it. I’ve got the ick from the comment.

Seedy isn't such a strong word, and doesn't actually refer to the OP's feelings. Mortifying implies very strong feelings. It's sad if a woman feels mortified when a man makes a positive comment on her enjoyment of sex. What's wrong with enjoying sex, and what's wrong with making a positive comment, in private, on this enjoyment?

I agree with the PP that if this kind of comment is a deal breaker, then the OP is going to have a hard time finding a man who meets her standards.

It wasn't a positive comment. It was a singling out, objectifying, joke about her performance. He should have left it with saying he had really enjoyed their night.

Mortified doesn't imply very strong feelings, and it is neither here or there how I would feel as I am not the OP, who has in any case decided to end it with this man as she feels uncomfortable getting this message.

I find it sad if a woman doesn't understand or value a more romantic approach from a man. There is nothing romantic or passionate about that message. He sounds like a gurning oaf.

Sounds like the guy dodged a bullet.

Arsenal25 · 10/08/2026 14:17

He will find someone else who enjoys that sort of comment I’m sure, but that person isn’t me.

Know your worth, ladies x
