5th date last night, ended up back at mine and had sex. Have really enjoyed his company and green flags galore up to that point so it felt natural. This morning, he text to say how much he enjoyed last night and wants to see me again (he suggested a date idea). I replied agreeing and discussing potential dates which work. He then referred to last night and said ‘shame its not Cheltenham racing this time of the year as you would be a great jockey’. I played dumb and asked what he meant, he said he was just joking. Is that an acceptable joke for you because it feels a bit seedy for my liking?! But I do think a lot of him from dates so far.

OP posts:

Also, maybe he really wanted to say something bordering on affectionate now the deed is done, but can’t very well declare love, so that remark seemed to him to be an enthusiastic, general purpose ‘thumbs up’ to him?
Clumsy, but worth permitting at least until another date, during which his habitual degree of boorishness (if present at all) should be monitored.
He may be coarse and superficial; he may be a slightly rough diamond. The latter is worth exploration!

I think that covers it. There is nothing affectionate or tender about commenting on OP's enthusiastic riding of his cock! I think it's mortifying.

Minasama · 10/08/2026 11:15

I wouldn’t like that at all but I wouldn’t sleep with someone I’d only met five times so these things are a bit self selecting I think.
Maybe when you see him tell him how that made you feel, because if this is going to be serious he needs to understand the things that upset you.

clearlyy · 10/08/2026 11:16

I don’t think that’s bad at all, I’d find it a bit cheeky but I’d roll my eyes and say give over! There was worse things he could have said and he probably thinks It’s a compliment, and it’s better than saying anything more crude.

Palomiino · 10/08/2026 11:16

It’s not funny to me but I wouldn’t say it’s a red flag. His clumsy way of trying to compliment you I guess.

Disturbia81 · 09/08/2026 21:31

He’s saying you were great in bed

This

he meant it as a compliment..

WallyHilloughby · 10/08/2026 10:24

People act so prudish on here ffs. If you are mature enough to have sex with someone surely you can accept the other person may actually enjoy it

I'm not prudish. I like a bit of sexting but not cringeworthy crap like this. He sounds a prat and that is not sexy.

CasperGutman · 10/08/2026 11:22

It's not particularly funny, but I don't think it was meant to be. He's saying sex with you was great, he enjoyed being with you, and he's saying it using an analogy that avoids being excessively explicit/crude. I wouldn't get too mad about this.

If everything else is good and you want to see him again (and personally I think you'd be daft to consider ending this over one comment you didn't personally "get") then let him know gently and in person that you found the comment a bit cringey/juvenile/whatever and would prefer something different in future. Have a nice comment ready to break the awkward silence that will inevitably follow, and try not to end the next date with this conversation or he'll be left nervous about contacting you afterwards in case he comes across badly again!

LondonLass2026 · 10/08/2026 11:23

Well you did have sex with him, and you do talk of green flags all the way, so I don't see any red flags at this comment. If you don't like the joke or find it smutty, it's up to you what you do next.

Personally, when I've reached a certain point in a relationship, I'm fine for this sort of joke, but that's me personally. If you don't share his humour, tell him or end it.

I don't think this comment was meant as "sexting". I don't imagine for a moment that it was meant to be sexy or to turn the OP on. It's just acknowledging that he enjoyed himself and playfully complimenting/thanking the OP for a good time.

Jane143 · 10/08/2026 11:24

Just a clumsy joke, no problem

Temporal · 10/08/2026 11:27

Absolutely harmless. You saw each other in all your naked glory last night, so what's the harm in a slightly (lame) lewd joke?

Snufkin88 · 10/08/2026 11:37

He probably meant it as some sort of compliment but I’d be a bit grossed out by the comment , it’s just a bit much

But you never discover a person properly until you’ve had sex with them. My sister has been married for years and first bedded her husband within a few hours of meeting him.

Screamingabdabz · 10/08/2026 08:35

Oh give over. Watch the ‘Heartbreak Kid’ with Ben Stiller. Yes, vigorous sex has its place but if you’re riding for the Cheltenham gold cup every time, an emotionally intelligent guy might be looking for more variety when being intimate.

Jeez if your first night sex isn’t the pair of you going at it with a bit of vigour and passion what is even the point?!

DancingNotDrowning · 10/08/2026 11:50

89redballoons · 10/08/2026 10:07

Wouldn't be a deal breaker for me, but doesn't seem funny unless maybe it's in context - for example if your next date was somewhere near Cheltenham, or some other kind of racing event or something?

The context is she was riding him like a gold cup jockey just last night Grin

WallyHilloughby · 10/08/2026 12:05

lol at the responses.
Honestly people see to think unless it’s a pg lovemaking session with a mills and boon style note saying ‘thank you fair maiden for last night’ the bloke is some kind of pervert

EvieBB · 10/08/2026 12:39

LemonSnail · 09/08/2026 21:31

This would give me the ick and it’s not even funny.

Agreed. This makes me want to hurl.

gannett · 10/08/2026 12:43

If I'm attracted to someone enough to ride his dick enthusiastically then it's not going to bother me if he then refers to that later.

Such a disproprotionate number of people on this site who think any reference to sex at all is "grim". I assume that what they find grim is sex itself, with all the bodily fluids and such. If not I wonder what complimentary wording about sex afterwards they'd actually enjoy.

RaininSummer · 10/08/2026 12:49

Cringy but I actually think there's some kind of compliment in there

Well, the OP herself found this "compliment" as people are calling it "seedy" and felt concerned enough about it to write a post on AIBU...

TizzymyLove · 10/08/2026 13:00

I would laugh and take it as a compliment then think no more of it.

ConstitutionHill · 10/08/2026 13:02

Ha ha. It wouldn't bother me in the slightest and I actually like the analogy. It ties in with my username 🐎

I think this is the only site the Amish, Jehovah's Witnesses, and Mormons are allowed on by the looks of some of the replies to posts like this.

SnobblyBobbly · 10/08/2026 13:13

Yes, block him and everyone in future who makes an attempt at a joke that isn’t 100% to your humour. Sure fire way to find love and happiness 😆

BramStoner · 10/08/2026 13:14

Honestly, it's not particularly my mode of expression but he's saying something nice- he had a great time, is keen to see you again and you're good in bed. There comes a point when you have to cut a chap a bit of slack and allow that they might sometimes express themselves in a different way to you and that's ok. If you go off a fellow for something as small as this then no one has a chance, because they're just human beings not mind readers.

I also think that, if a bloke came on here and complained about the equivalent the morning after sleeping with a woman for the first time, they would get the shortest of short shrift.
