5th date last night, ended up back at mine and had sex. Have really enjoyed his company and green flags galore up to that point so it felt natural. This morning, he text to say how much he enjoyed last night and wants to see me again (he suggested a date idea). I replied agreeing and discussing potential dates which work. He then referred to last night and said ‘shame its not Cheltenham racing this time of the year as you would be a great jockey’. I played dumb and asked what he meant, he said he was just joking. Is that an acceptable joke for you because it feels a bit seedy for my liking?! But I do think a lot of him from dates so far.

It’s definitely a reference to your ‘riding’ style. It might be that he is using humour to gently let you know you were a bit vigorous, or maybe a bit fast? A bit like the male equivalent of going like a jackhammer? If he’s a nice guy, he might want something a bit slower and more connection.

These are all guesses though. Only he can tell you.

So nice guys don’t like vigorous sex in your mind?

Franjipanl8r · 09/08/2026 22:41

Sounds more goofy and awkward than anything else. If he’s a nice guy, he’s probably regretting sending it and is cringing now. Just see how he is on the next date.

Thesafetygeneral · 09/08/2026 22:43

This is just cheeky banter and I would make me laugh

1983Louise · 09/08/2026 22:43

Made me laugh but you should have gone back with - shame you're not hung like a horse 🤩

WhatAMarvelousTune · 09/08/2026 22:46

Bit crass but if you’ve had 5 dates and haven’t had any other issues with his sense of humour then I’d let it go. Anyone can make a poorly judged comment.

Coco852 · 09/08/2026 22:11

I would text back <cringe>

I would too, and maybe add my own ‘I enjoyed myself too’ sentiment, to let him know, I liked the sex but not the crap dad joke about it.

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 09/08/2026 22:48

He was clumsily letting you know you are a good ride; ie great sexual partner

LondonKara · 09/08/2026 22:49

I think a lot of people feel a bit awkward the morning after, however ready and willing they were. It's just a slight misjudgment of tone, nothing serious.

Debbi62 · 09/08/2026 23:14

He sounds a bit immature

MmeDubois7 · 09/08/2026 23:15

It wouldn't bother me, especially if it's going well.

RoseField1 · 09/08/2026 23:16

He's referring to the sex you had in a positive manner. It's not very funny, personally I would just gloss over it and ignore it, but it's not something to get offended by!

Disturbia81 · 09/08/2026 21:31

He’s saying you were great in bed

He is saying he is a horse.

LoafofSellotape · 09/08/2026 23:17

Doesn't anyone laugh with their partners anymore? He enjoyed himself and he's saying you were great.

This. He sounds like a twat.

Besidemyselfwithworry · 09/08/2026 22:07

Me too it’s gross 🤢

What's he supposed to say "thanks for the fuck" yes its not great but " i had a wonderful time last night " seems a bit Barbara Cartland...

Createausername1970 · 09/08/2026 23:23

Its not the best thing he could have said, but he was saying he enjoyed having sex with you.

You’re way over thinking this just like some of the other posters here 😂 .

Copperoliverbear · 09/08/2026 23:37

Childish but just saying he enjoyed sex.

Autumngirl5 · 09/08/2026 23:48

Yuk! That makes me cringe and would be a deal breaker for me.

Wildegeese · 09/08/2026 23:56

It's a lame joke but it wouldn't be a deal breaker. He had a good time!

And it sounds like he's champing at the bit to see you againGrin

SilveryBear · 10/08/2026 00:01

I’d actually find this quite amusing.
He’s being complimentary. He clearly had a great time. Giddy up!

Netcurtainnelly · 10/08/2026 00:02

Banter back instead of moaning or better still say it face to face.

greenbean80 · 10/08/2026 00:03

I think I’d have to ask what it meant 😂

QuickPlumLeader · 10/08/2026 00:20

I’m sorry but that’s just so icky and unfunny to me.

NigellaAwesome · 10/08/2026 00:30

I like the suggestion to reply giddy up. TBH I don’t find it that icky, perhaps a bit contrived, but not the worst in the world
