To ask your ultimate wedding guest scandal?

Well, my story is pretty scandalous. I’m from Indian heritage … a cousin I had not seen for years invited by my family to my wedding - she wore her bloody wedding outfit her glam reception - red outfit - all her freaking jewellery I mean Wtaf and I’m still not over it and it’s been 17 years

Stomach- turningly crude speeches
Loud behaviour
Slanging matches
Actual fights
Gross behaviour at the buffet
Sex and drugs in the lavvies
Damage to venue
Police being called

I wore black to my friends wedding because I'd lost weight and could get back into the dress. I'd never heard the "in mourning" statement until this thread.

Can honestly say I was so pleased for her. Her ex was a twit and the man she was marrying is absolutely one of the best, they were and still are so happy.

This is why I asked, as I know some people just like black and especially as a “evening do” wouldn’t look out of place at all, so was wondering if it was made clear to the PP what the SIL’s intentions were. As I said, a friend of mine is much disliked by her MIL who wore black to their wedding with a fully miserable face all day by all accounts, so in her case it was deliberate. But I can imagine someone wearing black just because their nicest dress is black, ifykwim!

Is it OK for the groom then? My DH married me in a dark green suit, and we were married for 47 years until I lost him.

Apparently so, my son married last year in a green suit.

I guess the fay are just sexist buggers.

Even uf they decided to stay married after they found out, it was very irresponsible to have children.

Groom was marrying the best friend of a girl he was obsessed with for years, slept with her etc, they were together because said girl wasn't really into him so palmed him off to bff.

Even weirder this girl was maid of honour who'd had slept with the groom's best man and half of the grooms friendship group who were in attendance at the wedding. She also has weird attachments to these men even though she has a boyfriend, including my own husband who she still tries to initiate contact with occasionally. We've spent many times laughing at her messages.

At the wedding she was always looking over at us while her poor man sat looking glum. At one point she cornered my husband for a hug and told him how a song always reminds her of him 🤮

Maybe not scandalous but a massive ICK 🤣

It was 15 yrs ago. I also have no idea what any of my guests wore (or care either)..but obviously I'm going to remember what this particular friend wore as it was a mini wedding dress!...so very inappropriate

It was my nicest dress. I still have it and I fully intend to lose enough weight to get back into it but will take note and not wear it to any weddings😂

Tbf, I think your new MIL looking miserable all day would be the problem, no matter what she was wearing 😂 if you’re not intending to cause offence, I’m sure that would come across!

Ah, well she obviously wanted to be asked to be your bridesmaid and was VERY bitter that you hadn't asked her. Weirdo. Some people just have no shame.

A wedding I was at my friend shagged the groom's first cousin in the toilets at the reception, I went in to pee and heard them in the next cubicle and legged it 😂.They are now married with two kids so a happy ending for them!

Also I wasn't at this wedding but I heard from my friend that her best friend was one of 12 bridesmaids at a wedding where the groom's speech was basically just slagging off the bride's entire family, really brutal. The bride then got up and stormed off crying, ran out of the hotel and up the busy city centre street (it was a wedding at a posh central hotel). The 12 bridesmaids (who were in white jumpsuits - bride's choice) ran after the bride who was screaming and crying. I think they managed to catch her, corner her and persuade her to return to the wedding but the atmosphere was totally ruined.

My mum hired an escort to accompany her to my wedding. Total cringefest

Only some of the men were in kilts and others said no but she was furious at my friends husband as he was the best man !
Bride was a bit batshit. When she felt there wasn't enough attention on her she pretended to faint and had to be carried around the rest of the evening.
They are now divorced.

At my cousins wedding 2 of my aunts. One blood and one married in, had an argument in the toilets. The married in aunt is an utter cow and had always hated blood aunt. It became physical, hair pulling etc.
I was stuck in a cubicle.
