Well, my story is pretty scandalous. I’m from Indian heritage … a cousin I had not seen for years invited by my family to my wedding - she wore her bloody wedding outfit her glam reception - red outfit - all her freaking jewellery I mean Wtaf and I’m still not over it and it’s been 17 years

I once went to a wedding where the mother of the bride and another guest were wearing exactly the same outfit, dress, jacket, hat. It came from a posh dress shop in our local town 🫣

TheOctopus · Yesterday 21:41

I'm not Indian but always liked the idea of the bride in red so I wore red to my own wedding but I had slept with the groom😂.

Went to a wedding when I was with my ex. It was his friend who I knew fairly well but I'd only met the bride a handful of times. The bride was a classic bridezilla and everything had to be absolutely perfect.

I wore a blue floral print dress from M&S with a cream jacket and shoes. Another lady who I'd never met before was wearing the same dress but with a navy jacket and shoes. We laughed about the dress and said it was bound to happen with M&S. Neither of us was that bothered about it.

Bride had a complete meltdown about it at the reception when we'd removed our jackets and she noticed we were both in the same dress. She was sobbing saying it spoiled the aesthetics. I still have no idea what she meant.

I'm confused. Is there something wrong with wearing a red dress and jewelry to a wedding?

Yes @MissJoGrant red is like white she wore her actual wedding dress to my wedding!

At my cousin's wedding (she was the bride) the groom got really drunk and flirted with all the cousins, told the bride's uncles he'd made a mistake, snogged the bridesmaid on the dance floor and threw up on the dj.

@JustMeHellothis wins

At a Reception in a marquee (well, big gazebo) in a back garden in Ilford a neighbour was invited. He started chatting people up and inviting them to his house. Eventually about 4 women were in his house two doors down having group sex. One of them came back over the garden fence and urged me to join them (I didn't). They were all climbing through the gardens all afternoon.

One of them had an autistic son who was distressed because he couldn't find his Mum and badly bashed another kid on the head. Everyone was saying 'where's his Mum?' and I had to explain she was away having sex with the guy from 2 doors down, Then she came back and the mother of injured child attacked her.

No this wins!! Omg

I was not aware until many years after my wedding that one of my husband’s friends had drunkenly threatened my brother-in-law. He was quietly dealt with by the best men and proceeded to go home and be very sick (red wine) all over another friend’s bathroom.

Wedding reception in a village hall. Bridesmaid and best man had sex in the kitchen after the caterers had cleaned up and left. Bridesmaid somehow sat in the leftover wedding cake during the act.

My mother in law wore a long white gown to my wedding!!!!

Damnedidont · Yesterday 23:09

The groom's son from his first wife got blind drunk, heckled during the vows then grabbed his dad's car keys and drove his car into that of another guest. I should add that his parents had been divorced for 10 years and the bride only met him 2 years ago.

ilovemykindle · Yesterday 23:13

Went to the 3rd wedding of the groom. He was nearly 60. Bride was late 30's.
His speech included joking about the baby oil he was going to use on his new bride and where he was putting it.
Her parents were sitting on the front row.

Groom and his best man (also his brother) doing coke in the loos. Groom drags him by his feet onto the dance floor at 9pm. He's in full cardiac arrest screaming for help. Bride is doing cpr. Us bridesmaids try to get all the little kids outside. Ambulance arrives. Blue lights him to hospital. He died. All grooms family leaves the wedding. Police arrive. Shut off the music and place themselves outside the loos. Groom at a table crying. Bride still trying to save her wedding and dance in silence....

Nothing off hand that I can think of, except that at one of my friend;s weddings her sister pretended to faint during the speeches then announced her pregnancy. We all knew she would try some stunt. Pretty tame really!

At ours, one of DH's cousins got hilariously drunk and was escorted away by another cousin. He said 'We are going. Susan is quite tired'. She drew herself up with utter indignation and announced grandly; 'I am NOT tired. I am DRUNK'.

She's fab. I am lucky... all his family are lovely.

We had a gatecrasher! I was dancing (on a chair!) at the evening reception and a guy came up to me and said, Who's the bride?! I replied that it was me and he swiftly disiappeared!

Mother of a friend of mine had had a few drinks and went to the loo. when she came back to the hall Grace after Dinner was being said so, in order to be inconspicuous, she crawled across the dance floor (in her evening dress).

This kills me. One of the funniest things I’ve read on here.

Posted about this before but I was at a wedding where a guest stood on a table and stripped completely naked!

Namechangee11 · Yesterday 23:34

Someone I used to casually shag years ago called me on the morning of his wedding and asked me to come and rescue him... He had been sort of pressed into marrying a girl he'd had an 'accidental' (to be fair to him, she pretended to be using contraception but lied) baby with and wanted out. I didn't go obviously and he went through with it. He ended up drunk with her mother in the disabled toilet... He wasn't fucking her, but he was going down on her (much more his thing) with her sat on the sink. Lots of people at the wedding found out about it in real time. Two people called me to gossip about it on the day and there were fist fights between men in either family (he too told me himself years later).Absurdly, the wife forgave him and they went on for a while, about 18 months, but then he left her. Bizarrely there was never a huge rift with her own mother. That poor girl, how bloody dysfunctional. I will add he has no contact or relationship with the baby now adult. Just an awful mess. His ex wife went on to happily remarry and have two more children, thank goodness and that baby graduated from her Masters degree, not something she'd have achieved if he'd have raised her.

My exH’s friend’s girlfriend wore a white lace, off the shoulder midi dress to my wedding. No other colours on it- just white- with a white flower in her hair.

It was only the second time I’d met her.

SallyDraperGetInHere · Yesterday 23:44

I worked at a wedding of a bride who had five bridesmaids. They arrived by car to the venue, wearing very sexy, shot velvet dresses, unusual for a summer wedding, and they were kind of surly on arrival. A few minutes later, another limo pulled up with five smiling bridesmaids in pastel dresses. The bride had asked none of her five sisters to be bridesmaids, so they had showed up as a disgruntled (sexy, velvet-clad) faction, and proceeded to be extremely disagreeable all evening, including starting a scrap in the toilets. The groom was a very nice chap, and I felt sorry for him marrying into such a horrible family.

My wedding got invaded by the Arsenal team who were all staying at the hotel. Everyone was like......what bride and groom.

Someone wore a white lace dress to a wedding after she was specifically asked not to by the groom. Things were already awkward as she’d previously slept with the groom (prior to the bride and groom meeting) and the bride didn’t want her there to begin with.

Geraldine vibes!
