AIBU to worry about large numbers of undocumented men arriving in Spain?

1000 replies

MaturingCheeseball · 30/07/2026 17:34

Thousands of young men from Morocco and beyond swimming to Spain. Spain obviously has encouraged the problem with their amnesty for existing migrants, but thousands more arriving with no means of support and undocumented is going to cause huge problems. Large numbers will no doubt be ultimately trying to reach the UK.

It’s harsh, but we cannot accept infinite numbers of men.

What about Ilford then?

I’ve never been to Ilford so can’t comment on it.

You might not want to see it, but it could be you running for sanctuary or a chance to live without fear and with dome comfort.
Europe sent refugees and migrants to other places all through the 20th Century.

Making other peoples lives impossible by going along to illegal wars with the happy trigger USA president will have consequences.

Morocco is safe! They are not running from anything.

They won’t. Their tiny liberal brains simply cannot compute that it isn’t working! There is no Multi-Cultural utopia. Instead, due to their inability to see past what they’re led to believe, by their chosen outlets, that it is a fantastic ideal of cultures living, working and getting along magnificently, they simply label anyone else, with differing experiences, racist, xenophobic or bigoted. It’s tiring and it’s lazy.

‘tiny liberal brains’??
Liberal has a specific meaning in the U.K., Not sure if you aren’t from the U.K. or are parroting American rhetoric and really meaning the left more generally, but either way the data suggests those with higher education levels skew towards voting left.
That’s a really nasty way of speaking about people you disagree with though. And given you mean specific MNers, it’s probably personal attack.

ImpossibleGermany · 31/07/2026 18:40

literally don’t care
migrants aren’t the problem - billionaires are

You know the NHS burns through a billion quid roughly every 2.1 days, don't you?

The combined personal wealth of all the billionaires and multi billionaires in Britain is estimated to be 772 billion right now, which means if we rounded them all up and guillotined them and seized
every penny they had between them we'd be able to fund the NHS at it's current under-performing and lacklustre level for ooh...almost exactly a year.

It suddenly doesn't seem so much money after all, does it? Given how many problems we always being told by people like Zack Polanski could be solved forever if only we taxed the billionaires more. Even taking ALL their money only scratches the surface of our problems for five minutes, relatively speaking.

EppingTrain · 31/07/2026 18:41

Billionaires how dare they have success companies that employ many people in well paid exciting careers

Amberlynnswashcloth · 31/07/2026 18:41

60,000 is colossal and images quite shocking. If this happened in the UK how on earth would we cope with it? That's nearly the entire population of the town I live in!

Go to Whitechapel.... Tell me does the area feel English or feel like you're in England?

I bloody love Whitechapel. I stay there whenever I visit London (as a solo female traveller). Yes, it feels like England. There are lots of brown people about, and a great market for Asian foodstuffs, but I don’t feel like I’m abroad, no.

MaturingCheeseball · 31/07/2026 18:13

@DoraSpenlow - this happened to some people I know, from Southall. First they got a letter through the door saying the neighbours wanted their house for a relative , then an unfriendly visit; they were quite intimidated and sold their house to the neighbour. And moved away from the area.

Did a Muslim also eat their hamster?

This thread is degenerating into the absurd now.

When white people move away to majority white areas it’s presented as understandable. But brown people living in majority BAME areas is ghettoisation.

Waxingmoons · 31/07/2026 18:45

@moonraker0 “Morocco is safe! They are not running from anything”

They are not all from Morocco. They are at the border and come from all over Africa and the Middle East.

Thankfully almost all of them have now returned to Morocco - the Spanish authorities seem to be doing a good job

Exactly. Russia is correct. Europe is becoming destabilised at a rapid rate, including citizens turning on each other when opinions differ.
Only a fool can deny this.

Well Russia would know. They are the ones doing the destabilising…

And another poster on a previous thread said she found the area uncomfortable, unwelcome and unsafe. I don't particularly love the area.

Had a friend try and order some food and the guys English wasn't very good

How though? Surely all they need to do is shout that they are claiming asylum at the point they are rounded up,and they can't be sent back immediately, they'd have to go through the asylum vetting process first?

I’ve always felt safe there, even coming back quite late at night from the theatre. Actually, one night it was a bit quiet and felt a bit shady, but was fine the next night. I’ve never had a problem with poor English in cafes and restaurants.

I read the other day that the UK only has enough water to supply an additional 440,000 houses. If true, this illustrated pretty well why we cannot keep accepting more people into this country. No idea how Labour will build the number of new houses they are proposing given this.

And this doesn't include the amount of water needed to actually build the houses...

Waxingmoons · 31/07/2026 18:51

oh dear I think the mature cheddar I got in this thread is starting to stink of mouldy cheese now.

no sandwiches for tea. Although I know of some who will just remove the greenish bits and eat the rest. They say it is just penicillin spots.

Hope you enjoy your dinner and your cheese is not spoiled like mine.

Shouldn't every area be at least majority white British?

British people come in all colours. I don’t care about the colour of their skin.
