Thousands of young men from Morocco and beyond swimming to Spain. Spain obviously has encouraged the problem with their amnesty for existing migrants, but thousands more arriving with no means of support and undocumented is going to cause huge problems. Large numbers will no doubt be ultimately trying to reach the UK.

It’s harsh, but we cannot accept infinite numbers of men.

In the photo I saw a boat was crammed with men all wearing life jackets and on the edge of the boat was a small child clearly distressed with no life jacket on. The French officials were standing watching.

5 days ago a migrant was stabbed to death on a French beach and the perpetrators alleged to have then got into a dinghy to cross the channel. It's out of control.

Every dentist I’ve had for years has decamped to Australia or Canada - my teeth aren’t that much of a challenge!

My medical student nephew did two summer placements in New Zealand hospitals - one hospital was almost entirely staffed by British medics; the other about half.

My son couldn’t get onto the graduate track he wanted in England so went to Australia- his expat friends are all British doctors, nurses, midwives, engineers, teachers.

This isn't new - Spain has been experiencing boat crossings for decades.

But it's having a robust deportation system that's the problem. Does any country have a deportation system that successfully deters illegal migrants? And I don't mean just being a country that's undesirable to move to, eg North Korea.

i don’t think immigration is the most pressing thing causing struggles for ordinary people. It’s just that’s what the ones actually having the biggest impact on national finances want us to think it is.

Before Brexit it was people being trafficked in the backs of lorries, but after the tragic deaths of a high number of migrants who suffocated to death on two separate occasions which resulted in prosecutions and a major crackdown, the traffickers had to find other ways to get people across the channel. This is organised crime.

The videos online are of Ceuta, on the African continent, neighbouring Tunisia. It's not as scary for Europe as is being made out. However if I was in Cueta I'd best terrified. The population was just 83k and already half Muslim before this. Even migration of a few thousand makes it Muslim majority. What's happened in recent weeks means the Spanish population of the city may be already incredibly unsafe. If I lived there I'd be weighing up my options of leaving and potentially sacrificing my property or staying and sacrificing my life.

Italy has an increasing problem with sexual assault/rape committed by Moroccans. Italy traditionally has had many crimes - but not stranger violence.

I just don’t know how posters can justify thinking that groups of rootless young men wandering about is nothing to be concerned about.
