AIBU to worry about large numbers of undocumented men arriving in Spain?

MaturingCheeseball · 30/07/2026 17:34

Thousands of young men from Morocco and beyond swimming to Spain. Spain obviously has encouraged the problem with their amnesty for existing migrants, but thousands more arriving with no means of support and undocumented is going to cause huge problems. Large numbers will no doubt be ultimately trying to reach the UK.

It’s harsh, but we cannot accept infinite numbers of men.

In Catalunya, there will be no more Airbnb as of 2028.

Catalunya, a PSOE governed autonomous community.

As I said, I am not worried about Spain's ability to protect its residents and protect their fundamental rights.

You might know, has a new law been passed yet in Spain regarding squatters? I think it was being mooted, but anyway the existing (or maybe repealed) legal situation about that was awful for owners, whether they rented them out or had holiday homes. I hope it's fixed now.

I didn’t say ‘nothing’. I said ‘nothing significant’. The Tories did no better, I agree.

They did worse. Numbers down under Labour.

I would be concerned for citizens in any country if 60k citizens landed on their shores in one day in the way they have in Ceuta.

Gibraltar is a self governing British overseas territory and Ceuta is an autonomous city of Spain. I used the example of Gibraltar for a reason.

Sorry, I don’t fully understand your point, but yes, I would be concerned for the citizens of Gibraltar.

Horrendous and undoubtedly co ordinated.
Europe has been destroyed.

Agreed. And we stood and watched it.

I’ve heard about all of those things, yes- you’ll notice I didn’t comment on them.

I was simply challenging the idea that billionaire men are not dangerous.

Where did anyone say the Billionaire rapists can’t be dangerous? Again, two things can cause concerns. Mass immigration and the Billionaire rapists who abuse women.

It was to be set in July afaik.
My nephew and partner had to find alternative accommodation in April as the air bnb they booked had over half of the units occupied by squatters.
The first night someone tried to get in the door.

People concerned b about billionaires are free to start threads about them.
This thread concerns mass immigration of undocumented young men from cultures which are per capita are over represented in rape and violent crime statistics.

Did anyone say no billionaire men are dangerous, ever?

So basically no to tourists, yes to immigrants?

Even in this instance funny how it's all men.
Where are the women and girls ?

I was responding directly to the question ‘Do you get many billionaires raping 12 year olds?’

The answer is yes, allegedly.

Yikes, can't be fun being a resident in Ceuta just now.

Interesting that there is no acknowledgement of the origin of that footage. Just because it is on X doesn't mean it is genuine

Finland has now joined Italy in calling for Spain to be excluded from Shengen.

The Spanish army are there. The President is there. Repatriation will be expedited. 25.000 have already returned voluntarily to Marruecos. Current estimations are 150 per minute returning voluntarily on foot.

Saying that Spain "brought it on themselves" because we are humane to migrants and don't demonise them is ridiculous.

This is an event which will be handled correctly. It doesn't require hysteria or any such thing.

Edited

Lets see how well this post ages, not well i fear.

No to tourists using what should be residential homes as holiday accommodation. Yes to tourists in hotels. Yes to immigration in accordance with our laws.

Finland has now joined Italy in calling for Spain to be excluded from Shengen.

Suspended. And that is very unlikely under EU law as the mechanism is not really in place. It is populist posturing. If Sweden, Finland and Italy wish to implement passport control at their own borders they can do so for a temporary period, if they wish.

KittyCorncrake · 31/07/2026 14:49

Just seen Sweden too.

I wonder if @IcedCoffee26 can confirm whether or not that is a Spanish police car/van.

Sitting here in Spain, also not worried.

But then I don't consider a multi cultural society a destroyed one.

I don't either . I really enjoy diversity and different cultures especially the different foods.
In London going for a shawarma on the Edgware road and smelling all the pipes or China town is joyful.

However what does make me sad is that many countries including the UK have walked very tough rough roads to get to something nearly resembling equality for women and girls.
With law changes ,campaigns , liteature ,films ,protesting, the media ,papers stories and we are still behind. .
But as a soctiry we are mostly moving in the right direction.
I feel very sad that many males who seem to form the mass of the immigrants are coming from cultures where women are seen and treated very differently. We are seeing this play out in real time with attacks .

How can we loose the hard won gains we have made ?
