AIBU to worry about large numbers of undocumented men arriving in Spain?

1000 replies

MaturingCheeseball · 30/07/2026 17:34

Thousands of young men from Morocco and beyond swimming to Spain. Spain obviously has encouraged the problem with their amnesty for existing migrants, but thousands more arriving with no means of support and undocumented is going to cause huge problems. Large numbers will no doubt be ultimately trying to reach the UK.

It’s harsh, but we cannot accept infinite numbers of men.

I never get this argument. Yes we have enough of our own arseholes that we can’t do anything about, so let’s just let in more undocumented men from places where people don’t visit/go anywhere near for a reason, where women are treated like second class citizens, and homosexuality is a no no, as a starter for ten for potential problems.

Because you know, the majority of rapists are white men so it’s ok. 🙄

Make that make sense.

Totally agree.
If you've got water pouring through your bedroom because there's a hole in the roof, you don't go deliberately creating another hole in the bathroom ceiling.

I have zero qualms about sending these men back to sea.
Zero.

Women and children welcome.

So they live on fresh air?

Agreed, paying for their heat, electric, roof over the heads and food is a huge benefit.
Imagine you got those things for free. They’re hefty benefits.

I don’t know how certain posters aren’t seeing the impact this is having on communities, my Dsis lives in a professional area, beautiful big 5 bedroom house in an estate of 30 houses, the government has converted two of these into hmo residents with 10 men between them, the anto social behaviour is disgraceful. The children cannot play out unsupervised. There has been many incidents involving the Garda in the last 6 months, carrying a large knife, fighting each other, urinating on the street, intimidating residents, they have a parent weekend schedule to let the children play, that’s bonkers.

First and foremost, a government has a duty to protect its citizens. Women's rights are enshrined in domestic equality legislation, so dont worry yourself there. Women also have the right to be worried about being attacked by any man. They don't need you to decide who they are and aren't afraid of.

The UK absolutely does have the duty to do that. That is why instead of worrying about migrants into Spain, if you are so concerned for women's rights, you should campaign for better legal protection to be enshrined in UK law in matters of rape and domestic violence, gender equality and women's healthcare.
Stop listening to tabloid headlines and start looking at actual legal texts, case law and government policy in your own country.

Stop worrying about Mohammed moving there and start worrying about John raping a woman and getting away with it because he can base his entire defence on "but I thought she wanted to" with the full burden of proof on the prosecution to prove that she didn't.

No thanks, I will continue to use my energy my way. You have an agenda though, that's plain to see.

OneStarAwake · 31/07/2026 08:56

This happened before in 2021 on a larger scale. I don't remember there being a big fuss about it on MN, or people panicking about Moroccan men coming to the UK.

What has changed?

Free food! Imagine!

Have you seen what you are writing? For those who speak so much about preservation of culture is the UK not Christian? I am Catholic and there is nothing in our religious texts that would permit begrudging food in this situation... surely it is pretty unChristian to have an issue with undocumented migrants accessing food banks?!

That ship has sadly sailed in referring to the UK as a Christian country. As we are told over and over by left wing activists, that Christianity is irrelevant now in the UK. Funny that we're expected to have Christian morals on the one hand but then expected to accept our religion being ridiculed and devalued in every other respect. I don't begrudge anyone making use of food banks however the abuse that these facilities are now being subjected to is grim. My kids volunteered to help but the local one has now closed due to safety concerns.

The only thing we can do is keep pushing back on it. I'm not going to "keep my mouth shut for the sake of diversity".

Have you seen what they've installed at Trafalgar Square? Really fits in with the historic tone of the area /s

SomeoneIsWrongOnTheInternet · 31/07/2026 08:59

What has changed is more people waking up to the threat that immigrant males in large numbers pose. The numbers being let into the country has just gone up and up, and there are now fewer people around to say that all those who are concerned by large scale demographic changes are racist. More are willing to challenge the neoliberal authoritarianism in the face of the huge changes we have seen in our country over just 10-20 years.

Do you get many billionaires raping 12 year olds? And don't try telling me we have rapists in this country i know so there is no need to increase the probability of it happening.

Have you heard of the Epstein files at all?

Just because we've got home grown men who are horrible, doesn't mean we should take more from other cultures that have an even worse attitude towards women.

In my opinion, that would be an insane thing to do.

It is becoming increasingly clear that the ongoing narrative of the innocent immigrant is a load of bull too. They are here in lands that are not theirs with very different cultures because they want to take. They are find in g ways around laws to do so. They are not interested in integrating and upholding our laws.

Have you heard about the grooming gangs? Probably heard less about the grooming gangs than the Epstein files.
There are 100’s of brown and black children trafficked into Europe yearly for sexually abuse. 100’s of children. Many of those poor innocents children have already been raped over and over.

Poor Ceuta. The shops have closed and apparently migrants are breaking and entering homes to find a place to stay. The police say are overwhelmed.

And yet posters are claiming it’s aok, either it’s all an exaggeration or masses of men arriving is a good thing as we need immigration and they are no trouble at all.

Spanish gov have issued a statement saying 49000 have entered in the last 24 hours. How is this okay?? People have become so passive and accepting of this.

The Guardian has quoted "unknown numbers" - no surprise from that leftie source. Sky has reported thousands, as have other news outlets. The BBC, again no surprise, has reduced it to hundreds. No, we aren't talking about the June incident.

I know that now.

Why do you think 3 women died though? Baring in mind there are usually no women or very few. Out of all the people on board, and 4 died, why were 3 of them women do you think?

I thought the three women were found dead on a boat on their own and were not part of a mixed group. That’s what the article inked to above seems to be saying.

I don't know about other posters but this 'suicidal empathy' (in inverted commas as it's a recently coined term to describe empathy that brings danger ) is beginning to get out of hand.
I'm sure men have it too but I'm going to be honest and say I think women have it more.

localnotail · 31/07/2026 09:09

Since reading about it a bit more I'm a bit stunned with Spanish governments reaction. Courts are not allowing these people to be returned, national emergency not declared, they sent only 60 guards to Ceuta and seem to be doing nothing to stop this from happening. White stating that these mass break through are due to "criminal activity". Wtf even is this? This is Spain that hates tourists and moans about the lack of housing.

EmeraldShamrock000 · 31/07/2026 09:09

There is a weird old law in Spain around squatting in abandoned properties and the rights the squatter has after 48 hours I think.
If you look on Spanish agency selling homes, there are 1000’s illegally occupied properties as it is a civil matter, as far as I know they’re rushing to change this.
Similar to the old rules in immigration after WW2.
lawa need to be rewritten.
I love Spain. I definitely noticed the change the last two years.

Cucurella · 31/07/2026 09:10

Spain have now reported that 49000 migrants arrived in Ceuta yesterday. I feel for the Spanish people. Sanchez has allowed this to happen.

And our government continues to do nothing significant to stop the boats. Around 700 people, I imagine mostly men, in one day yesterday.

We are entitled to feel angry and threatened.
