AIBU to worry about large numbers of undocumented men arriving in Spain?

MaturingCheeseball · 30/07/2026 17:34

Thousands of young men from Morocco and beyond swimming to Spain. Spain obviously has encouraged the problem with their amnesty for existing migrants, but thousands more arriving with no means of support and undocumented is going to cause huge problems. Large numbers will no doubt be ultimately trying to reach the UK.

It’s harsh, but we cannot accept infinite numbers of men.

It's madness what's going on. We have a growing problem with migrant men in Ireland. But a lot of it is not making the news. Unfortunately because of the lies and secrets It's hard to know what is true and what is far right speak.

It's not making the news, because as you say it's lies and far right shit stirring. That's the madness.

MaturingCheeseball · 31/07/2026 07:56

Poor Ceuta. The shops have closed and apparently migrants are breaking and entering homes to find a place to stay. The police say are overwhelmed.

And yet posters are claiming it’s aok, either it’s all an exaggeration or masses of men arriving is a good thing as we need immigration and they are no trouble at all.

I have lived in the UK for a short period yes.

And I'm not declaring that you lack a written constitution, it is a fact.

Just because the UK doesn't have a written constitution like Spain and other EU countries, its citizens still have human rights protection. No country has a perfect legal system.

You are joking I assume. As records show that women who attempt the crossing rarely make it as they’re raped and tossed out of the boat.

It is not that they cannot swim, because it is too dangerous to travel alongside these men.

I actually did not know that these women were raped and tossed out of the boat. Clearly, I’m embarrassingly naive, but this should be more clearly reported.

literally don’t care

migrants aren’t the problem - billionaires are

And this is precisely why we have a resurgence of the far right.

People with their heads in the sand, ignoring what is happening around them who will say and even believe absolutely anything in order not to be seen as racist.

And, er...aren't we supposed to be against people trafficking? The whole small boat issue is based on trafficking - is that OK now?

Where I used to I've, where my parents still live, it is way way more than 6% white British are not the majority at all according to the census).
Many areas are no go. Many areas are like slums. Rubbish everywhere, misogenistic men walking 10 ft in front of their niquab/burkha clad wife. Young girls dressed head to toe in black. Education under extra stress as there are so many different languages in the classroom. Evenings out in town ruined due to gangs of very handy aggressive men.

I don't want my daughters growing up with this, thinking it is normal and acceptable.

There is no such thing as a "no go" area. If you personally wouldn't want to go to an area where women are wearing niqab that is entirely up to you, but it's a personal preference, not because you (or anyone else) have been prohibited. Let's make that clear.

Italy has an increasing problem with sexual assault/rape committed by Moroccans. Italy traditionally has had many crimes - but not stranger violence.

I just don’t know how posters can justify thinking that groups of rootless young men wandering about is nothing to be concerned about.

Italy has an increasing problem with sexual assault/rape committed by Moroccans. Italy traditionally has had many crimes - but not stranger violence.

I read the Italian news and listen to Italian current events podcasts. It's true Moroccan migrants are a massive problem in Italy.

There was one high profile case of a very young Italian couple (20 years old or there abouts) hanging out late at night in their car in a park. A gang of around 3 or 4 Moroccans jumped them, gang raped the girl and made the boyfriend watch. Unspeakable savagery. Akin to what happened on October 7th.

Europe has (or had) a very rich culture. You can preserve and cultivate that culture, or you can have open borders. You can't have both.

Have you got a more neutral source that verifies this, please? The CMC's sole purpose is to reduce immigration and some of their work has been discredited.

I can only source what is available and what you can also source,

Start a thread about having a holiday in Morocco and the constant theme is that posters wouldn't want to go back because of the sexual harrasment. There's just been another prosecution involving a migrant and a girl being kidnapped and raped on her way to school. Telling girls, as young as 11, to be vigilant on their way to/from school to prevent daylight rapes, was never a thing in this country. Another migrant didn't realise that it was the school holidays and turned up to a school with a hammer and knife, he doesn't like the way his life is going in the UK. We are still having issues with the sexual harrasment of children across our borough. None of us would allow our girls to walk around Egypt/Sudan/Pakistan/Morocco by themselves, but we now have to put up with the men who make up the problem, in those countries, hanging around in gangs, were our girls are. Cuts and higher taxation is being considered, but the asylum Bill has no cap. We aren't deporting criminals, £60k a year to keep them in prison. We are one of the last European countries that doesn't have areas that we can't live in, thanks to flood/fire etc, but the amount of green spaces that we are going to have to build on, for housing is going to end our wildlife and climate.

@Ballooney100% agree. We are being flooded with undocumented men and I also agree it's unfathomable. We are in huge debt as a country. We need to reduce numbers here and stop offering fucking benefits to all and sundry. I can only presume the people who call folk like us far right, do not have daughters. The first duty of a Government is to protect its citizens. It wont be long before there is an uprising in this country. I work up North with a huge amount of ABC1 demographic men, think Doctors, Engineers, Scientists and IT / AI business owners. I have only spoken with one, who supports these men who are invading our country and feels pity on them. The rest of them are fuming, silently.

The UK doesn't offer "fucking benefits to all and sundry".

Having worked in welfare rights for more than 2 decades, I can assure you that the rules on benefits for people coming from abroad are very stringent. For most recent arrivals, it is only those granted asylum that are able to get benefits. That takes at least 6 months, and less than half of asylum applications succeed without going to appeal, which takes far longer.

It took a Kurdish friend over 2 years to be awarded refugee status.

We don't have a resurgence of the far right because "people have their heads in the sand". It's because they are racist xenophobes, mostly uneducated and they feel terribly threatened by anyone who isn't like them. They have no interest in data, they rely on social media 'facts'. Strangely they do not bat an eyelid when their white neighbour is convicted of beating and raping a woman but they are up in arms, organising protests, making banners saying "ISLAM OUT" when a black man (who was a Christian in the last case I heard of) does the same.

That would be ridiculous. It would be far quicker and easier to travel over land to Northern France and then just jump on a regular inflatable boat to get offshore and then get picked up for free by the RN / RNLI taxi service.

I just don't agree with you on this.

You don't have to be a 'racist xenophobe' to be alarmed by large numbers of (mainly young men...hmmm...not many nuclear families) arriving illegally every day.

I have no problem with legal immigration. It's an old trick to conflate concerns over illegal immigration based on trafficking with racism - it's always an attempt to shut down discussion.

I'm sure the low-lifes taking thousands from these people to shove them out in a boat across the Channel would love you!

It's a good job Spain is so strict on rape isn't it with undocumented men swimming through borders? Although why you keep pushing the definition of rape, I don't know. We, in the UK, are well aware of what sexual assault looks like.

I am discussing rape because many posters on this thread are discussing their perceived increased risk of sexual assault in the UK because there are Moroccan migrants arriving in Spain (looks weird when you write it like that , huh). It perhaps behooves the UK to tighten up their legal definition of consent which would offer greater legal protection for women from all men.

That's why.

CoffeeCantata · 31/07/2026 08:15

Oh, and I've noticed that in addition to the 'you're a racist xenophobe' line, there's always the 'but what about the nasty men already in the UK?'

Well, what about them? What have they got to do with anything? Just because we have rapists and already here, why would we want more?

All the data from the EU shows migrant men commit from SA per capita. We saw what happened in cologne.
