To be a bit cheesed off by this window display?

Saw this on the high road today. My daughter asked what it meant bless her. The rest of the display on the other side included cross dressing obscene mannequins who had large breasts and moustaches etc. This was a charity shop that supports homelessness.

And come home and make a post about it on MN, because you are “cheesed off”

Bean soup theory - if it isn’t about you, just move on.

I suppose people create threads about all sorts of stuff they encounter in their daily lives.

Trans people are much more likely to expereince homelessness so its relevant to the charity.

Then you seriously need to stop being naive and you 2) need to look up the sex offending stats for men in dresses. Just because a man is in a dress does not mean he is automatically safe: he is more likely to be dangerous.

I have helped women work through their trauma many times but no one has ever reported being raped by a trans woman or a man dressed as a woman in a bathroom. So because it hasn't happened to you/anyone in your limited acquaintance yet, it doesn't happen?

Edited

And also, women get raped by close family and lovers and boyfriends Far more often than by the bogey man dude in a dress in a public restroom.
'far more often'?
How many women is it OK to suffer being raped/assaulted by the bogey man dude in a dress in a public restroom in the name of being kind to trans people?
Also, look up Katie Dolatowski. For starters.

Transgender sex offender who attacked child in Morrisons toilet locked up in male prison
Katie Dolatowski was convicted of sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl in Kirkcaldy in 2018 as well as violent assaults on adults. She went against court orders to stay at her bail address at night has been locked up for 78 days - in a male prison.

@KitRange

How did they know which fetuses’ were female if sex isn’t binary

An estimated 3.1 to 6 million female fetuses have been aborted in India over the past decade due to a cultural preference for sons, leading to a significantly skewed sex ratio. The current ratio is approximately 914 girls for every 1,000 boys among children aged 0-6 years.

He's out by now, surely: that was in 2023. Makes you wonder how many other little girls he has terrified since. I think it was more-or-less concluded that he was mentally unwell rather than really being trans, though, and I don't mean by trans people under the "no true Scotsman" rule. He was in the charge of a carer when he committed the offences in public lavatories against two girls aged twelve and ten, less than a month apart.

I have a feeling his most recent conviction was for breaking the conditions of his bail rather than for sexual assault. But my hat is off to the ten-year-old who fought off her six-foot-five attacker and escaped from him in the Morrison's lavatory in Kirkcaldy. She's a brave girl. Woman, now; she'd be eighteen this year if she was ten in 2018 when that crime was committed against her.

And you think it was displayed on a high street?

Yes

Temporal · 30/07/2026 15:30

Brainwashing, cult madness. I wonder where this is going to end? Like McCarthyism in the US in the 50s and 60s or the Great Satanic Panic in the 80s, will it all eventually fade away into obscurity and memory...?

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 30/07/2026 15:31

Remember the hypnotic regression to sexual abuse stuff? That ruined an awful lot of lives, and seems to have been purest hogwash.

I’d be a bit more than cheesed off if I saw this OP. In fact, I am shocked that a High Street window would have a placard in it promoting mastectomies for anxious young girls. Everyone agrees that all should be allowed to be themselves, but only the activists think that that should involve lifelong medication and surgeries. I haven’t read the whole thread, but I I’m concerned that so many people think there is nothing wrong with this window display. . Sure it may be a young person wanting to make their mark but it is in no way okay for anyone to promote double mastectomies to young girls with healthy breast tissue.

I have seen similar scars featured on a cartoon of a tiger on a T-shirt worn by Helen Webberley of GenderGP, an overseas, unregulated hormone provider. Also, the lush Pride campaign featured the same tiger with scars. It disturbs me greatly that anyone with any common sense would think that this is acceptable. People need to wake up and realise what is happening in plain sight.
It is mostly young autistic people who get caught up in this ideology and the lack of responsibility for them by the wider community is frankly shocking.

Ah yes, that's a bit of a give away... So it might happen, but if it's only a few, it's okay.

Took about three seconds of googling, but here you go- https://www.akt.org.uk/news/lgbtq-people-twice-as-likely-to-be-hidden-homeless/

1 in 4 LGBTQ+ young people have experienced homelessness, compared to the government’s official estimate of just 4%. This rises to 1 in 3 for trans and non-binary young people.

Also anyone with half a brain who isn't being totally disingenuous can probably work out that people from a persecuted minority group are more likely to be homeless.

I think they probably are?

Nah, there ratio of threads complaining about crackheads vs trans people is very off

And tbf, ive dealt with both and found them both to be friendly, sweet and polite to people 🤷‍♀️

Kalalily · 30/07/2026 15:35

@Utterlybananas333 sorry if I have missed this but can you please say which charity it is that is promoting double mastectomies to trans youth

But no charities or political parties are promoting being a crackhead as a joyful and valid lifestyle, and demanding extra rights for crackheads.

(Except the Greens obvs).

I also saw double mastectomy scars on a cartoon for a costa coffee advert complete with rainbow background.

Coconutter24 · 30/07/2026 07:12

there are many many cis women for whom that is their reality, are you calling them obscene?

It is very clear OP doesn’t think that about women. It is also very clear this window display has nothing to do with biological women

It’s not clear at all. the OP said a mannequin with boobs and a facial hair was obscene. How does she know a person with breasts and facial hair is cis or trans? just by looking?

GrumpyPanda · 30/07/2026 15:44

KitRange · 30/07/2026 12:36

That isn't what that means, it isn't a comparison of if a males was x then a womans would still be x, and it isn't limited to testosterone.

The amounts are not really what makes this non binary, it is the overlap of existence, shared, levels, consistency. Much more to it than that.

Pray tell us exactly WHAT it is that's overlapping. That's right - it's the TWO distinct bell curves for, respectively, the male and the female distribution of a specific sex trait such as height, strength etc. So odd it's not three, or maybe 73 curves..

lifeinthelastlane · 30/07/2026 15:45

pikkumyy77 · 30/07/2026 12:49

Thats quite incorrect. You should talk to some biologists sometime.

What, people like Richard Dawkins? Or Robert Winston? They don't agree with you.

By the sign saying "protect trans youth", perhaps?

Or as rational people call it common sense. Not believing the impossible, saying no to the delusional.

AgedPudding · 30/07/2026 15:56

Frankly, I don’t care what people wear or call themselves as long as men don’t enter women’s single-sex spaces

This in a nutshell. I've met transwomen in my job in retail. Not many, granted, and it's always very obvious and I really truly don't care and I treat them as they obviously want to be treated. That is, I don't say out loud 'I can tell you're a bloke' even though it might be involuntarily written all over my face.

Different story in the women's toilets. That's illegal and I don't want men in there.
Because they are not women.
