Is it ever ok for a child to hit a child back?

If a child is constantly being hit by a younger sibling 2 years younger and smaller than them with SEN is it ever ok for them to hit them back?

Why is this all you are focusing on when you have had so much excellent advice in this thread?

Well actually, if you are in England, you would be allowed to smack your child for reasonable punishment. As long as you don’t leave a mark, you wouldn’t lose your children or go to jail.

However, your 10 year old is at the age of criminal responsibility and could hypothetically be charged with common assault.

Not that I personally agree with any of the above.
