Haven't seen DH in clothes since Monday

My husband doesn't like the heat which means that for every day this week during the heatwave, we made an agreement that I'll been the one doing errands, nipping to the shops, and doing both morning and afternoon school runs. In return, he will ensure chores are done and cook dinner.

He works from home so therefore has had no need to leave the house.

Except, he's spent nearly a week walking around in just a pair of pants. No other clothing. He at least changes those pants daily (and sometimes twice a day), but I have not seen a t shirt on him all week nor a pair of shorts. I can't remember the last time he wore a pair of trousers.

I get that it's hot but i'm sick of the sight of his bare chest and legs. He is also bald so he looks like a giant newborn wearing a nappy.

He has somehow managed to do every work Teams call this week with the camera off.

We've also had quite a few deliveries this weekend, largely his, which I've had to run and open because he runs and hides from the window (while giggling) in case they clock he's only wearing pants.

I've asked him to put clothes on but it's fallen on deaf ears.

It's only 23 degrees today, AIBU to insist he puts some clothes on?

I would happily stare at my OH in boxers all day long. You sound disgusted by your DH. Poor bloke.

SingtotheCat · Yesterday 21:19

Is he the dad from “Friday Night Dinner”?

Bringyourfoldingchair · Yesterday 21:20

I’m really jealous of him.

Velumental · Yesterday 21:21

Must ask my husband.how he feels about this,.I've been in a t shirt and pants, no.bra, Everytime I'm.indoora on the hot days we've had recently. I literally have a linen skirt on the coat hook by the door lest i.need to venture outside. The kids have been in bare feet in the backyard, half the time in cotton shorts and nothing else too. My husband dresses properly regardless of the weather so he's been.in proper shorts, t shirt and socks ffs. I.wodmer if he's sick.of my saggy things and boobs 🤔

Yeah, this too, I love a perve on my husband in boxers. And he's also bald like OPs husband and never once have I thought he looked like a giant baby in a diaper.

I love this. Your house sounds like mine. But what are the saggy things if not boobs?!

First World Problems.

I find the whole comcept odd. To me, if body parts touch each other it gets sweaty and uncomfortable. Shorts and a vest, to prevent legs meeting and torso and arms connecting feel much cooler and more comfortable than no clothes.

BauhausOfEliott · Yesterday 21:31

It always amazes me how many Mumsnetters are repulsed their own partners’ bodies. How can you be sick of your husband’s chest? I really, really don’t get this.

I've had a variety of mismatched bikinis parts and my husband's has had just boxers on since Monday. We've both really enjoyed it and had loads of sex. Win win in my book but I fancy the pants off him you sound like you don't really like yours.

Why did we need that information? 🤢🤢🤢

What’s your preference got to do with the OP’s husband, though? Presumably he doesn’t feel the way you do, so why can’t he wear what he wants in his own house?

murasaki · Yesterday 21:33

Dp has been just pants since Friday, apart from when he went to the shop. I banned him from answering the door, putting the bins out or the washing without shorts case he's seen, but that was simply shooting myself in the foot....

Grrr.

basoon · Yesterday 21:33

Seems a non issue to me

Good grief. She only said the word ‘sex’ FFS. Not really worth nausea emojis, is it? You’re not nine.

It’s an observation. A suggestion that perhaps people might be more comfortable, counterintuitively, wearing a bit more. A comment that it wouldn’t suit me. That’s all.

What about Teams calls? He sits bare chested in front of his colleagues?

Read what the OP wrote. She said he does them with his camera off.

KevinsSignatureShortdeads · Yesterday 21:42

The lack of clothes in general probably wouldn’t bother me, but the assignation / avoidance of tasks based on the near-nakedness would wind me, but that’s probably due to me doing more in general, so any further excuse to do less would fuck me off

I agree, it's very weird to me that so many women are disgusted by their partners, why are they together if the very sight of them is so sickening?

abracadabra1980 · Yesterday 21:52

Thank you for the laugh out loud moment of your giant newborn wearing a nappy - hilarious! Sorry I can't offer any advice, but I occasionally wonder how some partners out up with their other halves wearing joggers all the time. I'd get the ick with that!

murasaki · Yesterday 21:56

To be fair, the pants are better than joggers by far.

Tillow4ever · Yesterday 22:07

Oh my husband is like this but pretty much all year round! He’ll put clothes on to work as he has calls, but evening and weekends he sits there in his grubby boxers, “beer belly” hanging out for all to see. But he answers the door like it too and doesn’t understand why I’m embarrassed at him doing this! He will put a shirt on for dinner as I tell him it’s rude not to, and sets a bad example to the kids.

hugasaurus · Yesterday 22:11

I think there might be bigger problems here. What kind of pants is he wearing if it looks like a nappy?! You sound a bit grossed out by him which isn’t really a good sign… I like seeing my DH in just his boxers, and he definitely would support me wearing only underwear in the house!

Ah I see, another joy of middle age that I no doubt can look forward to very soon 🤣

78Summer · Yesterday 22:22

It could be worse. He could be without pants. Your description of him is very amusing. You should take up comedic writing.
