What's hated on MN, but insanely popular in real life?

Disney World
Starbucks, Costa, Nero etc
Center Parcs
A sensible political stance
McDonald's

What else?

Bleach. You usually get accused on here of being an environmental hazard if you admit to using bleach.

We've said 'men' on this thread, countless times, but men are:

Fathers
Sons
Husbands
Uncles
Cousins
Nephews

They aren't all RAPISTS. They aren't all MYSOGYNIST.

All of the men I know are lovely. They would die for their families. Some have died in war. So, MN can piss off with their man hate. I woke up to a lovely coffee from my lovely DH who does everything in life to make me happy. I text my lovely FIL about the World Cup this morning.

I LOVE MEN.

Non-recyclable and non-reusable, some contain plastic, most are wrapped in plastic. I use old newspaper or rags.

using A & E unless you’re basically dead. Even if your GP or 111 have told you to go. MN’s apparently know better! 🤣

really?! So if your cut finger is hanging off you just leave it to drop off? My last wound. Before lockdown. I think A&E did dress it and send me home but it was bleeding a lot, not stopping and I was with my DM (visiting her) who told me of her own similar injury as a child on the way…

My DM uses kitchen roll despite me telling her not to do so. I use reusable eco cloths that you put in washing machine to clean.

Yes, I know. I wanted to express it deeper as it pertains to me.

Has anyone said MILs yet?

Cosyblankets · Today 10:49

I sometimes wonder why I'm even on here given that....
I don't take my shoes off at the door unless they are muddy
I let my dog off the lead
I enjoy wine
I'm a landlord
I get on with my inlaws
I answer my front door
I have toilet brushes
I have an en suite

Not getting into that, I’m already washing loads of face clothes every week, the kitchen roll is staying for me

Does Kitchen Roll Contain Plastic: Shocking Truth Revealed! - Kitchen

TheyGrewUp · Today 10:55

My DM uses kitchen roll despite me telling her not to do so. I use reusable eco cloths that you put in washing machine to clean.

If my dd started telling me what cleaning cloths, etc., to use I'd tell her to bugger off home. Ditto, clothes to wear, food to eat, to get the bus instead of driving. Similarly, my lips are zipped vis a vis DS and DIL's approach to having a very tiny baby.

FWIW I do use cleaning cloths for wipes and spills BUT I also use kitchen roll: to line the caddy bin, vegetable drawer in the fridge, to remove the things the cats bring in!

It is compostible though, so we put it on our compost bin

Does it say 'compostible' or '100% recycled paper' on it?
Biodegradeable and compostible aren't synonymous.

If it is compostible then that's fine, if not you are chucking microplastics into your compost.

BleedinglyObvious · Today 11:15

Paper recycling is not ideal - better to re-use where possible. Recycling paper uses chemicals and energy.
I do recycle paper, but I prefer to re-use.

I'm one of those people who will take a cardboard box apart to compost what I can from it.

To be fair this was when I house sat for her! I just suggested it to her. As she likes to be eco friendly.
