I know many people don't like Owen Jones, but I found this article deeply disturbing.

I am a child of immigrants, and my children are mixed race. So things like this are really starting to worry me.

I completely understand why people are angry at the current rate and quality of immigration (my own family are also disgruntled with it). But Restore want to deport even those who have citizenship.

And I am genuinely concerned that things are going to get worse than Farage if the government don't get a grip on this.

Where have they said they will tow the boats back to France ...I've not read that ..that's nonsense..not going to happen.
Go of their policy..not general mouthing off .
Any party at the start ,has nothing for anyone to go on .
Getting in to power ,any party can say one thing and do something different, they are not held to account, and unfortunately, not made to do what they promise

Farage on ITV news pledged to use the navy to tow boats back to France. Google Farage tow boats back to France and you'll find it.

Sliverswan · 17/07/2026 13:35

But can we trust the rest of her pack to not do the dirty and get rid of her ,if she was voted in

Mouthing off
Not read that in their policy,it would be impossible to carry out and infant see France sitting back and playing ping pong with the boats

No they won't be chucking NHS doctors out
I've read the policy to
No one integrated ,earning ,contributing , fitting in ..is going anywhere
He's talking about People not born here ,not working, and sitting in council houses all day not learning English.
No one contributing,to the system, fully integrated is going anywhere

Their policies are clear as mud.

They are against the Boriswave. Ok. Does that include high paying Boriswavers? DS works with 22 yr old Boriswavers- LSE and UCL grads- who earn £50 k per year in the City. No joke. Do we not want them so they can pay tax for our 1 m NEETS? And many are from " non desirable" countries.

You're right. France would refuse them. Before Brexit we had the right to deport them back to France, which wasn't perfect, but we lost even that when we left the EU. You'd have thought Farage would have seen that coming when he worked so hard to leave.

No. Lowe has been very clear it doesn't include anyone working, paying taxes and integrating.

Mass Deportations: Legitimacy, Legality, and Logistics

Reform are the only party solving the prison crisis by bringing back capital punishment. The way you see who to deport, just have a colour chart and if you pass this an English test. Simple. Confuse “Your” and “you’re” or “there” and “their” or “they’re”. Deport deport. Nowhere to go, bring back the Rwanda scheme. Only the hard left who hate the working classes would disagree with this policy. The working classes have been destroyed by the left in this country and I do not know why the working classes do not rise up against these people who want to destroy them. Only Restore can bring back common sense.

I think you made a mistake there ..your first word..
Reform are not bringing back capital punishment
But restore have said the members of parliament can vote on it
So even restore have not said they are bringing it back ,
they have just said they will offer a vote ..which obviously the members of parliament will all vote against

A lot of their fan base would fail that test. Where are the deported going? Have to send them somewhere. Any European country would refuse ships permission to enter their waters or aircraft to land. So now its Africa, Middle East or Sub Continent. Same will apply. Unless money changes hands and we commit to pay for the upkeep in eg Rwanda. Or is out of the country, out of mind?

Unless they live in social housing. Or if they have an accident or get cancer or give birth to a disabled child who needs care so they can't work.
Oh, and only as long as they're not a woman with a son, husband or brother who commits a crime. Though presumably if they're a man with a son, husband (would that still be allowed?) or brother who commits a crime, they're OK, as no mention of male family members of criminals. Which if you didn't know better, you might think was a bit on the misogynist side.

If you cannot speak the King’s English you do not deserve to live in his land. Basic communication skills are sacrosanct and a minimum to live and work in this country. If a person does not have a basic standard of English, they cannot work at a normal level to be a functioning member of society. So they need to be deported. If no one will take them then send them to Rwanda and pay them to take our dregs. This is the only way that we can save our country. Deport deport. Should not matter what colour you are, deport. Rupert Lowe is the only one who will save this country by getting rid of the detritus of this country. Basic literacy and numeracy should be the minimum to be able to serve the country. I am sick of my money being given to people who cannot serve society and just take and take because they do not integrate or have a basic level of education. Why should we keep these people in our country?

OneAmberFinch · 18/07/2026 00:36

I'm an immigrant from the Boriswave (very early). I have ILR now.

I'd be fine if they said all ILR was cancelled and everyone has to reapply to a new, much higher standard. Same as if they did it for acquired citizenship; it should be as trivial to lose as it is to acquire. I'm very confident I'd meet any standard that even Reform/Restore would care to impose. I'd actively like this to happen. I want people to think of immigrants as people who've come here with a lot to offer and who actively like this country/culture for more than just its benefits system!

I'd be upset and my life would need to change significantly if they blanket deported every one of us, but I'd make a plan. We have some options. A sovereign British government isn't obliged to make policy based on what upsets me, if they believe it would overall benefit the native British population who don't have other options.

OneAmberFinch · 18/07/2026 00:43

The Rwanda scheme is nonsense though and assumes that we have to abide by the extremely outdated agreements about how refugees are treated now, where you can illegally cross a border but if you say some magic words then it's not illegal anymore. You can just... not do that. Fast, onshore processing, with a hard cap on acceptances based on resource availability rather than how sob the story is, and the swift default answer being "no, go home, or stay here in jail". No Rwanda required. Especially not reciprocal schemes!

IDoHaveACrystalBall · 18/07/2026 00:48

@OneAmberFinch that's a really interesting perspective, thank you

With regards to the jail thing, one problem is that some are going to opt to stay here in jail. They will, quite correctly, think that there is some hope of an amnesty. And they certainly wouldn't be kept in jail long. To be honest, that's something this country would never actually do anyway, so it's kind of a moot point.

Duckagogo · 18/07/2026 00:53

LuckyHazelFox · 11/06/2026 07:26

Farage parted ways with Lowe because of Lowe's stance on deportation. If immigrants are here legally, there isn't an issue. I would take what Jones, the rape denier says, with a huge sprinkling of salt.

Yep. As usual first comment nailed t.

We don't want them if there are any unemployed British graduates who could do their jobs and pay the same tax - which given their ages won't require any experience.

This.
We need to prioritise the needs of British citizens over the needs of any random that chooses to rock up here.

My British born DS is doing the same job. They all had the same opportunity to apply and are paid the same. The job requires a high level of numeracy, several rounds of tests and in some cases, a masters. He's one of 3 British born who passed. The rest are from India, China, the EU and Singapore.

IMO they deserve to be here.
