Really Hello Fresh? Jumping on the Pride bandwagon and promoting your high fibre offering to gay men? Utterly grim.

OP posts:
askmenow · 08/06/2026 03:11

Hopefully this might be their " Jaguar" moment. Go woke, go broke.....

Ohdearnotthisagain · 08/06/2026 03:43

Why is everything rushing to ask for a link to click posted by a stranger? Now I know how so many people end up with malware etc. on their devices.

It never ceases to amaze me how many links are shared on mumsnet. This is basic cyber safety, people.

steff13 · 08/06/2026 04:21

To be fair, most of us do need more fiber. I thought it was funny.

RoseField1 · 08/06/2026 04:22

It's not suitable for an advert. It's not offensive, but it's inappropriate.

Papster · 08/06/2026 04:26

Darlia96 · 07/06/2026 23:30

If that's real it's pretty awful tbh
Im not prudish, I'm not homophobic, I'm just disgusted by an unfunny joke.
And when young children see the ad?

They won’t understand it.

That makes sense

I’d give them a massive swerve without even reading post that all of the meat they provide is halal so religiously slaughtered, for anyone using the food delivery brands gusto etc they all use RS meats. 🤮

Omg. I’ve never used them but this is awful!

LBFseBrom · 08/06/2026 04:59

I don't see the point in 'Hello Fresh', frankly, and would never use but I looked at the advert you highlighted and don't know what you have found objectionable.

LBFseBrom · 08/06/2026 05:01

MyKidsAreTooNoisy · 07/06/2026 23:42

Do you think young children will understand the joke?

Do people with young children use 'Hello Fresh'? I know nobody who does.

Loads do. I deliver them

I think every corporate/company feels compelled to support Pride be it on websites or social media. We seem to have lost our way in understanding any civil society should be tolerant of peoples differences and actively promoting or alluding to a more sexual agenda, as in the Hello Fresh advert.

Growing up in the 60s and 70s innuendo was often at the core of British humour. Some was funny some not so. The Hello Fresh advert is very Carry On Film humour. Interestingly those films would be considered offensive in today’s woke culture but also interesting that some of Pride is awash with overtly sexual/fetish people.

I suspect every corporate is trying to be edgy when expressing their support for Pride.

ClearFruit · 08/06/2026 08:13

Absolutely fucking revolting. The world is awful now.

BlueLegume · 08/06/2026 08:29

Too late to edit my previous post….what I meant to add was ……

Gross. Not at all what I want to associate with food. To be fair, I was never going to be their customer anyway, but this certainly doesn't make me want to sign up.

Yep

For a bonus, use the code BOTTOMSUP for a discount.

I shit you not.

😂 😂

It's a bit gross. It's not great marketing as I would think making people associate your food with that is doing to lose you far more customers than it gains. It's not what you really want to be thinking about when you're having dinner!

Edited

It's great marketing. I bet everyone on this thread has just given the company about 10 times as much headspace as you normally would. Well done Hello Fresh, and all of us helping to make them relevant by posting on this thread!

Griever · 08/06/2026 08:41

And they say romance is dead

BauhausOfEliott · 08/06/2026 08:41

It’s made me LOL.

Yeah that was my thinking too. Food and poo is a grim combo, but it’s also playing up to stereotypes about gay men’s sexual behaviour.

AmazingGreatAunt · 08/06/2026 08:45

Well that puts the term used to describe those, who stockpile ahead of coming catastrophes in a very different light...
All we need to do now is collect them together at a Center Parcs location on a Friday night.

I didn’t know that - thankyou for highlighting. I’d been considering trying one of these companies - won’t bother now!

ForSnappySwan · 08/06/2026 08:49

Hello Fresh were found to be employing child migrants in their factories .. not surprising they've engaged in this homophobic marketing

Error404FucksNotFound · 08/06/2026 08:51

I think it's tacky but sex seems to be brought into everything these days.

JunesDunes · 08/06/2026 08:55

Pride isn't just about gay men having sex. Why do advertising companies always think that?

Anyway, it's getting them loads of free advertising (like this post) so it's done the job.

Gerald Ratner got a lot of headspace with his M&S prawn sandwich remark, but it didn't do his sales much good, which surely is the point of marketing?
