Really Hello Fresh? Jumping on the Pride bandwagon and promoting your high fibre offering to gay men? Utterly grim.

OP posts:

I don't think the gay community is a homogenous lump that can educate you on how to think. You might have to take your own view on this one.

Oh, I thought there was a community chairman who would let us all know.

What gets me is that July is Disability Month. Will Hello Fresh and other corporates do anything for that? Like fucken hell will they!!!

If you make it woke enough, I’m sure they’ll jump straight on it.

OneTealShaker · 08/06/2026 10:41

I’d like to know who are these people paying for the overpriced grift that is Hello Fresh.

Another day, another homophobic thread.

FFS, isn't it enough with the TERF hate without going back to resolved social issues?

The thread isn't homophobic but Hello Fresh have been

I can’t get offended by that, it’s quite funny. It’s nice to see LGBTQ+ matters being talked about openly, even if it is in a silly way.

Are people really that offended by the concept of gay sex in 2026?

Who's offended by gay sex?
I don't care who's having the sex.
I just want it kept out of my dinner.

Yet another reason to vote Reform😀

It's reducing pride month down to clearing out your bowels ready for all the anal sex you're gonna have, cos y'know, you're gay. Haha.

Being gay isn't just about having anal sex. And just because you're gay, it doesn't mean you appreciate people pointing out that you may (or may not) enjoy anal sex, as if that's all it's about.

It's making gay sex into a joke. Like some sort of stupid joke from the 90s people used to make up about Elton and David.

Plus, it's just misinformed. You don't need to eat a load of fibre just to have bum sex.

And they spelt fibre wrong.

You are but one person! There are lots of us who might not have thought about HF at all, but now have that awareness.

The advert doesn't bother me in the slightest, but it is a great piece of marketing obviously, as look at us all chattering away about HF this morning 😀

Some of you might be so disgusted that you will never ever ever buy HF again. Some of you might now have a little bit of HF lodged in your conciousness, and may find that an idle google means it's following your around the internet with ever increasing offers etc.

Well done OP for starting the thread if you do work for them!

But it's not a cheap option either. People won't simply support this company on a whim because they love the gay pride message. You have to think about whether you really need it or not.

Nobody would use HF if they didn't really need to, or if they were struggling financially.

It's such a risky strategy. Many of us who do (did) use it are working families. I will certainly welcome the money back in my pocket, even if it means a few more minutes each week thinking about meal planning.

Does anyone know how to check if ANY meat is halal btw? If I'd known about HF using only halal meat I would have ditched them years ago.

randomchap · 08/06/2026 10:31

How much of a snowflake is he? Oh no they did a woke advert I won't buy their razors.

Not drinking bud light I understand. It's basically pish

Snowflake? Oh please.

It's ok to have principles (and other brands are available).

Goatsarebest · 08/06/2026 10:57

It's not correct to say all publicity is good publicity as keeps being pushed by brand awareness campaigns. Marketing has to result in increased sales. Just because it's talked about as per this thread doesn't mean it is beneficial. It has to connect with someone who then buys the product. A classic would be where all boomers got offended by an advert and all the younger generation connect to the product because boomers were offended by the advert. That works. But these sort of ads don't do that. They are created within a bubble and sold to hierarchy within corporations who want to be seen as progressive and edgy. Hello Fresh should be focused on quality and value and know who their customers are. 9 perc decline in revenue last year, predicted another 6 to 9 percent this year. Shares at an all time low. They have significant challenges. Not sure this kind of publicity is going to help them.

DeftGoldHedgehog · 08/06/2026 10:57

I don't get where the offence to be taken is in their post, as a 50 year old heterosexual woman. It seems quite witty to me.

Everanewbie · 08/06/2026 10:58

Its bigotry of low expectations. That gay men are nothing but anal sex obsessed simpletons with zero decorum and a teenage sense of humour.

DeftGoldHedgehog · 08/06/2026 10:59

I must say I didn't read it that way. Food might not be a priority because they are going out a lot was my take on it. If gay men are offended by it then that's fine but I don't think it's my job to be offended on their behalf, I'm sure they would speak up about it themselves!

Sugarfish · 08/06/2026 10:59

OtterlyAstounding · 08/06/2026 02:49

Are they suggesting that gay men are all starving themselves during pride month for some reason? That's...a little odd.

And no one needs to be made to think of anal sex and shitting when they're buying food. It's crass and quite literally distasteful, and also catering to a very tiny demographic, some of whom might be offended by it rather than amused.

Without going into graphic detail, I think it’s suggesting more that a high fibre diet isn’t the priority for a “top”

I disagree.

It's reducing Pride to a gay men's sex party, which may be problematic in Its own right, but it's not suggesting that's the lifestyle every gay man lives. Kind of like a hen night joke doesn't target all women, just the ones who do a certain type of hen night.

randomchap · 08/06/2026 11:10

TheKittenswithMittens · 08/06/2026 10:46

Yet another reason to vote Reform😀

So this American advert is encouraging you to vote for a bunch of chancers, charlatans, and bigots. People who will fundamentally damage this county?

Reform wants to get rid of workers rights, health and safety in the workplace, holiday and maternity rights.

They are not looking out for you. All they want is to make their donors more money.

They are not to be trusted. They will fuck you and your community over

Oh, well, yes, quite possible. Or I suppose that they're so busy shagging like rabbits that they don't have time to eat? Really, it's a little offensive to gay men, as well as very gross.

I wonder if, on Valentine's Day, they'll advertise nice fat sausage meals with a cucumber and carrot side salad to single women, to really 'fill them up' Confused

Slightyamusedandsilly · 08/06/2026 11:12

It's like humour is entirely devoid in the right-wing community. Mired in bigotry, laughing not allowed.

SlayTheJAway · 08/06/2026 11:13

The inference being that gay men are going to be so busy fucking for an entire month, so much that they forget to…eat??

Is that not a bit offensive to gay men??

As a centrist, I thought it was the lefties who usually get up in arms over humour (sometimes reasonably so), because it's some sort of 'ist' or 'phobic'?

Shedmistress · 08/06/2026 11:18

If this 'joke' had come from a white man in a suit he would be in front of HR before the end of the day.
