Really Hello Fresh? Jumping on the Pride bandwagon and promoting your high fibre offering to gay men? Utterly grim.

If that's real it's pretty awful tbh
Im not prudish, I'm not homophobic, I'm just disgusted by an unfunny joke.
And when young children see the ad?

Do you think young children will understand the joke?

YankSplaining · 07/06/2026 23:43

It’s kind of crude, but the idea of advertising high-fiber food to gay men isn’t a bad one. It might have been better to just mention the high-fiber meals without being so explicit.

Darlia96 · 07/06/2026 23:44

No, I think they might ask what the punchline means.

My 7 year old needs to know what everything he reads means.

It's just unnecessary.

SapphOhNo · 07/06/2026 23:47

Lighten up

Bikenutz · 07/06/2026 23:47

As an ad it’s probably done what the creator intended!

myrtletrotter · 07/06/2026 23:49

HelloFresh food had got a bit manky anyway. Now everytimreI see it I just think shit...it looks desperate

SabrinaThwaite · 07/06/2026 23:53

For a bonus, use the code BOTTOMSUP for a discount.

I shit you not.

Amie09 · 08/06/2026 00:22

It's a bit gross. It's not great marketing as I would think making people associate your food with that is doing to lose you far more customers than it gains. It's not what you really want to be thinking about when you're having dinner!

Iloveagoodnap · 08/06/2026 00:30

I think it is quite crass. I thought these days Pride was meant to be a celebration of being able to not have to hide who you are and who you love, and this ad makes it sound like it’s just one big shagathon, which I’m sure is not the message the organisers want to promote.

Hello Freshs SM post says:

“We know eating isn't always a top priority this month.
We respect that.
But for those of you who are... prepping... we have an extensive lineup of high-fiber recipes available.
Happy Pride”

It’s a reference to emptying the bowels in preparation for anal sex

😮OMG! 😂

frecklejuice · 08/06/2026 00:35

That’s grim, I don’t want to think about anyone shagging when I’m deciding what to have for dinner!

AlcoholicAntibiotic · 08/06/2026 00:37

They can’t even spell fibre correctly.

It’s almost like they deliberately said something edgy so it would be sent round social media and discussed on internet forums, or something.

noblegiraffe · 08/06/2026 00:56

Their customers are people who are too knackered to go to Sainsbury’s and buy ingredients for a meal, let alone sex that requires any sort of prepping.

Very odd.

AlcoholicAntibiotic · 08/06/2026 00:37

Exactly. It's bad enough that now I will associate their food with defecation, excrement and taking it up the arse, but the fuckers cannnot even be bothered to spell fibre correctly to a U.K. audience. You can take your fiber HelloFresh and stick it up your own arse because none of your shitty meals are going anywhere near mine.

fiveflames · 08/06/2026 01:49

I get hello fresh (reluctantly as I’m overwhelmed and producing meals for big hungry family a pain).

This ad is just really weird. I’d have thought that they’d have celebrated pride with some colourful veg. Not sex references and weird statements about eating.

fabstraction · 08/06/2026 02:00

Gross. Not at all what I want to associate with food. To be fair, I was never going to be their customer anyway, but this certainly doesn't make me want to sign up.

Yes some rainbow coloured vegetables would have been much better!

OtterlyAstounding · 08/06/2026 02:49

Are they suggesting that gay men are all starving themselves during pride month for some reason? That's...a little odd.

And no one needs to be made to think of anal sex and shitting when they're buying food. It's crass and quite literally distasteful, and also catering to a very tiny demographic, some of whom might be offended by it rather than amused.

I don’t even understand the joke and I’m 50.

It’s not “to a UK audience” - it’s a German company posting in English on its own Instagram account. It’s not geared toward any particular nationality.

AnythingFromAnyone · 08/06/2026 03:03

We tried using hello fresh twice and both times the food was off/rotten. Their customer service was atrocious. With that and now them talking about shitting for anal sex, I’m glad I don’t use this company.

My friends have had rotten food off them too.

TempestTost · 08/06/2026 03:09

takealettermsjones · 07/06/2026 23:27

Weird. It doesn't make sense anyway... Why wouldn't eating be a priority any more just because it's Pride month?

The concept is that gay men are kind of slutty and care more about sex than diet.
