Endless tooth whitening products.

mishmashmess · 31/05/2026 17:37

Microneedling, as people keep going on about how great the results are. It hurt like a bitch and I am never, ever doing it again.

I have bought some supplements after seeing them advertised online. I don't know if they are having the desired effect but don't do any harm either.

I bought some nail varnish which was marketed as much easier to apply than the standard (Polishey) but didn't like it in the end.

I've just bought a solar phone charger from Must Have Ideas - I will report back if it's any good!

Also bought a Foldie bag which I think is quite practical when you are overseas but not sure I really needed it.

I generally take the view that everything on a IG ad is rubbish, but sometimes succumb, like the charger. In my defence I've had a couple of other things from Must Have Ideas which were actually ok.

I forgot Zing toothpaste. I didn't like the taste and donated the two tubes I hadn't opened to the food bank.

lazymaw · 31/05/2026 17:51

the handheld shark by mrs hinch
during covid, and Ankhway gummies which i’m yet to decide if it’s worth it.

I have fallen for a few things from musthaveideas, most of which have not lived up to their promise. For example:

Crystals that you chuck into the toilet bowl to create a foam that magically cleans your toilet. The thing is, you are supposed to start with a clean toilet before you use them (right!) and then they keep your loo sparkling clean for longer. No. They don’t. I’d prefer not to go into detail about how I know this as some people might still be eating their breakfast.

A tin opener that runs around the lid, cleanly lifting it off with no sharp edges. Again, no. I got so fed up having to reposition it after watching it nibble 1cm of tin at a time that I went back to my manual tin opener.

Also, a few years ago I fell for the whole Koh thing. A refillable spray of environmentally friendly, asthma friendly cleaning product that came with ‘special’ microfibre cloths. Honestly, it was basically water and elbow grease. The spray bottle is brilliant though. Nice consistent pressure. I still use it for, well, water!

We used the toilet cleaner and it worked for us.

But we now have a water softener and so don't need it at all as normal cleaning does the job, no more limescale.

I have £100s worth of glamrdip. I haven't used them for a while but I did use it solidly for well over a year. I just simply don't have the time these days but if you get it right, it's definitely worth it.

I'm on my second ninja thirsti and I love it! But I am a terrible person and live on fizzy drinks and nothing else. The only reason I got a new one was because I have ADHD and dropped the old one a few too many times

I don't understand the air fryer.

Me : what's good about an air fryer then

Person : it cooks your food really quickly and it's not greasy

Me (whispers) : is that not what an oven does

I shall not budge.

Skyflier · 31/05/2026 18:42

Has anyone ever used Lola’s glued eyelashes. I’m a double click away from ordering but thought I might ask here first. Have seen mixed reviews….

It heats up instantly and is a lot more economical than an oven. It's a waste of energy to turn on an oven just to warm a croissant or cook a bit of salmon.

beigetriangle · 31/05/2026 19:09

heated airer - still in use
blue tooth headbands - best thing ever for insomnia
slow cooker - used twice
method products - nothing that other products don't provide
silk pillow case - didn't work and just feels wrong

Fish fingers sandwiches cooked quickly and cheaply and so crispy.

MrsLFii · 31/05/2026 19:17

Oh! Wild deodorant (lovely but obviously didn’t stop the sweat, fine in winter, was not okay for warmer weather which leads me to…) then antiperspirant (amazing, 10/10, my easily irritated skin is the best it’s ever been and it actually works, and the amber and oud is DIVINE!) also the body wash, very nice too.

Bulbsbulbsbulbs · 31/05/2026 19:37

I've just thought of another.

Pestects mosquito repellent wrist bands. They are shite. I used them in Italy, I got 5 bites all along the edge of the wrist band and loads all over my body. I don't know where the good reviews come from. Maybe from people who don't get bitten anyway.

Memeyoulater · 31/05/2026 19:51

Rather than put me off I now have a list of things to look up☺️

Josephinemylove · 31/05/2026 20:24

@Skyflieri tried them and whilst they looked good and felt soft, the adhesive band stayed really sticky and when I woke up my eyes felt stuck together and it drove me mad so I took them off

Josephinemylove · 31/05/2026 20:56

Oh god. I keep seeing more stuff I’ve bought on here. Smol ✅, p and f ✅, loo roll ✅, bloody ancient and grave that I can’t cancel and have shed loads of ✅, no wonder I’m skint

M&S chocolate covered custard creams.

Are the food of the gods.

Agree!

GooseCreekandtheRiver · 31/05/2026 21:20

I keep checking back to see if there is more that I “need” 😳

dewne · 31/05/2026 21:22

Air fryers are common.

craftycowbag · 31/05/2026 21:27

Wouldn’t be without my airfryer.

LarksAscending · 31/05/2026 21:38

Wild Deodorant. By the end of the day I smelled of onions so back to antiperspirant gel I went

Air fryer is smaller than oven. Therefore preheating takes 10 seconds not 10 minutes and using it costs less. Makes sense when all you’re doing is heating a single slice of pizza or a handful of chips.
