Re-useable/washable sanitary pads on the washing line for all to see - yay or nay?

If you use re-usable/washable sanitary pads, do or would you line dry them after washing assuming four or five neighbours can easily see them?

Could I ask why please? That’s all I used with mine (unless it was an emergency!).

Nah, i wouldn’t…it wouldn’t be something I would want to look at in my garden. Not cos I’m ashamed of periods or anything like that, it’s just not very aesthetic.

I just wouldn`t have the stomach to clean out someones poop then wash out whats left.
Im sure it works for you as its cheaper but i couldnt.

My lacy knicks are on a seperate hanger on the outer edge of the rotary so they get full sun and dry quick. Never hide underwear whilst drying it.

no one sees my line and I put socks knickers etc on one of those hanging carousels so easier to get in takes less pegs too. most people would not know what they were anyway probably think cleaning things

oh yes, I also throw away any knickers, trousers, pjs, bedding etc if I have a leak. Very unhygienic. 🙄🙄

Although I’ll admit I’m bleurgh at the thought of them, as I like modern solutions to periods, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with pegging them outside. No one else’s business.

I too use one of the multi peg hangar thingies to hang out socks and knickers, so I’d use that for sanitary pads too. I peg them on in the house then put it on the line - if it starts to rain it’s just one thing to bring in that can then hang on a radiator.
I peg my bras - which are huge - at the house end of the washing line because I really don’t want my neighbours commenting on them. Maybe that stems from years of sexist comments from boys on the size of my breasts as a teenager!

No. I’d possibly put them on a peggy, they’d look like insoles.

They're so much better for the world than going landfills.

They're cheaper in the long-term.

They often involve giving custom to small businesses in the same country, rather than making more profit for unethical multinationals and being shipped from China.

I suspect they might even be better for health - gentler on vulva skin and less likely to cause irritation to vagina.

Much like reusable nappies, it's a small step that does a significant amount of good. I'd recommend the website Clean Cloth Nappies to anyone who isn't confident about laundering nappies/sanitary ware etc. It gives clear and scientifically backed-up advice.

The only reason I might not is because mine are old and falling apart and should have been chucked away more than a year ago, so I look like someone who can't even organise myself to buy decent ones (which is probably true). But I have no problem with hanging out ones in decent condition.

I haven't had thrush since switching to reusable products years ago. Tampons and plasticky disposable pads gave me thrush regularly.

Washable cloth wipes were so much more efficient with a baby/ toddler with food allergies too, and the stronger, better elasticated washable nappies stopped every poo from being a full scale poonami compared to flimsy disposables. It was trying washables out of desperation that put me on to then new companies like Cheeky Wipes.

The washing line is great for the UV light on them.

It means that i would not have the stomach to do it.
