If you are Reform are you ok with this repulsive man potentially becoming an MP and representing women in parliament?

Robert Kenyon, the “cheeky local chappie” who is standing for Reform in Makerfield is on record as making some shockingly sexist comments and statements. Reform are standing by him.

Can I ask the women on here who are Reform voters if they are ok with the him remaining a candidate given what I cite below. Btw I am absolutely not, but I’m not and never will be a Reform voter for a variety of reasons.

  1. Retweeting a post about performing a (graphic description) of a sexual act on Carol Voderman.
  2. He has attacked women as being promiscuous and accused them of taking any decision to have an abortion lightly. He wrote, “reproductive rights, women's rights, they can dress it up all they want.
  3. They're deciding to kill a baby inside the womb. What they mean is they want to shag anyone they want. And if they get caught, they get a second chance and treat it as a secondary, last form of contraception.”

Either you think this is ok (don’t understand how anyone let alone a woman could be ok with it) or presumably you’ll be contacting Tice and Farage etc to drop him.

Interested in your thoughts.

He's a vile piece of shit imo. But then that's Reform for you...

TheKittenswithMittens · 27/05/2026 15:01

For feminists voting in Makerfield it's a dog shot or a cat shit sandwich on offer.

Octavia64 · 27/05/2026 15:03

You should see what some of the green candidates say

Could you give some examples?

Cleo65 · 27/05/2026 15:05

Having seen what the Labour MPs have in their skeleton closets, then I'm not sure how to differentiate....

NotTheOrdinary · 27/05/2026 15:06

I'm pretty sure anyone voting Reform would agree with the vile stuff he posts.

Rachelshair · 27/05/2026 15:08

I want to know how many kids he has who he doesn't see, as he's making such offensive comments about abortion.

I'm genuinely interested in how Reform supporters justify the shocking behaviour of so many candidates.

Rbof · 27/05/2026 15:10

He’s a disgrace, as is the former Green candidate who said the attack on Jewish communities was a false flag. The new Green candidate wants to decolonise farming apparently. This is what happens when social media has allowed for the constant berating of the main political parties. We end up with these massive cranks.

But you haven't started a thread asking the same about The Greens?

TheLandlordsAreFrowning · 27/05/2026 15:10

I wouldn't bother @Johnogroats Reform supporters won't change their minds at this point. Farage could eat kittens live on air at one of his weekly pressers and it would make zero difference.

Speaking of weekly pressers, isn't it a spooky coincidence that they have stopped since the £5m revelation. Farage is such a coward.

Tickingcrocodile · 27/05/2026 15:11

I did Google, but I looked at the Green Party candidate for Makerfield as that is what the OP is about, rather than searching for every Green candidate ever to stand for election. I saw that the original candidate for the Green Party stood down after some offensive conspiracy theory remarks he had made about the Jewish ambulance attacks and has been rightfully replaced. Hopefully the Reform candidate will also agree he should be replaced.

Locker room banter

That's how the party defends his comments

Otherwise it will just be whataboutery.

Because it’s the Reform candidate who has said these things. So far the candidate the Greens have ultimately chosen appears to be squeaky clean.

ByGraptharsHammer · 27/05/2026 15:17

Look they are all Aunt Lydia’s who presumably agree but also simultaneously assume that the remarks somehow don’t apply. Kenyon isn’t hiding what he is like. Arguably female Reform supporters think they too should be able to say these things

There is one for you - if your Google is down.

To be fair, the Greens withdrew support for her and other anti-semitic candidates. There is no doubt there are issues amongst the Greens.

Whataboutery doesn't make what Kenyon has said anything less vile, though. I wouldn't want him in my house, let alone want him to represent me.

Happyjoe · 27/05/2026 15:18

Sexist, racist, some just really bloody stupid but they still get voted in. It's all about the boats innit?
This country is going to hell.

Monty36 · 27/05/2026 15:20

The poverty of quality Parliamentary representatives in recent years is very troubling.
These are the people who have power to make decisions about day to day life.
I am almost suspicious of anyone who stands who is wanting me to give them all that power. But it is the best system we have.

I am sorry to say but the next election is Reform’s to lose.

Actually I am interested in the thoughts of Reform voters on this subject. He is on record as having some disgusting views. Is that acceptable? If not what are you (assuming you are a Reform voter, and apologies if I’m wrong) going to do about it. The greens have had to take action with some of their candidates, and rightly so…. Why not Reform?

If you have seen the skeletons 💀, logic dictates they are no longer in the closets...so which skeletons do you mean? Has Labour disciplined the skeletons' owners?

Bushmillsbabe · 27/05/2026 15:23

The poor women of Makerfield, they are stuck between a variety of idiots.

Other parties need to be fielding really strong candidates so Burnham doesn't get in, he could end up as PM and cause a lot more damage than 1 MP. Plus the while process around this by election as a ruse to get Burnham in as a candidate all feels a bit dodgy.

Bushmillsbabe · 27/05/2026 15:27

This post feels a bit of a labour spin post - let's focus on the issues with the other candidates to draw attention away from the comments made by Burnham in favour of biological men being in women only spaces.
