If you are Reform are you ok with this repulsive man potentially becoming an MP and representing women in parliament?

Robert Kenyon, the “cheeky local chappie” who is standing for Reform in Makerfield is on record as making some shockingly sexist comments and statements. Reform are standing by him.

Can I ask the women on here who are Reform voters if they are ok with the him remaining a candidate given what I cite below. Btw I am absolutely not, but I’m not and never will be a Reform voter for a variety of reasons.

  1. Retweeting a post about performing a (graphic description) of a sexual act on Carol Voderman.
  2. He has attacked women as being promiscuous and accused them of taking any decision to have an abortion lightly. He wrote, “reproductive rights, women's rights, they can dress it up all they want.
  3. They're deciding to kill a baby inside the womb. What they mean is they want to shag anyone they want. And if they get caught, they get a second chance and treat it as a secondary, last form of contraception.”

Either you think this is ok (don’t understand how anyone let alone a woman could be ok with it) or presumably you’ll be contacting Tice and Farage etc to drop him.

Interested in your thoughts.

As women I feel like the country is giving us this…..

two options:

vote for a party who appeared to stand with the US overturning of roe v wade - (against abortion which is a woman’s reproductive right) which raises concern about what else they could do.— the reform Party

or you vote for a party who are split by: those who think trans rights trump women’s rights, and those whose religious ideology is very much anti-woman.
— the Green Party

There are more than two options. I personally wouldn’t vote for either populist party.

If we start with whataboutery then there is the Reform councillor who said the Holocaust was a hoax, or the one who proposed filling potholes with Nigerians

The outgoing Labour MP for Makerfield isn't great is he;

2024
SNP Westminster leader Stephen Flynn hit out after Josh Simons was chosen as the Labour candidate for Makerfield in north-west England.

Mr Simons, director of the Labour Together group, previously suggested smuggler gangs should be put on a barge, which could then be shipped to the north of Scotland.

As for the neighbouring constituency to Makerfield - I see that the former Labour MP for St Helens North was charged with sexual assault earlier this year;

Google seems broken for a lot of people today.

"Green candidate calls Harry Potter author JK Rowling 'torn-faced cow' amid gender row"

Thank you.
I hadn't heard of this (and I did google) but it seems she stepped down and quit the party. And rightly so.

Do you think Kenyon should also step down?

Yes. This. FWIW I wouldn’t vote for either party either. I like conviction politicians, Gordon Brown, Tony Benn, Margaret Thatcher, Rishi Sunak etc.. putting political views aside at least you knew what they stood for.

I would never vote for reform or green or the current Labour Party. NF is an absolute lunatic with no idea about how to pull GB’s economy out if the gutters. KS is so indecisive he’s driven his whole cabinet to resort to a leadership challenge. AB is in it for AB. Don’t get me started on Zak Polanski, tax issues, cv lying, v dodgy views on defence and the economy. The choice is truly truly terrible.
Kemi Badenoch is the best of the bunch right now but the tories screwed themselves with Brexit and no plan for being ex EU. She’s the least worst option rn if there was an election.

How was Rishi Sunak a conviction politician, especially in comparison to the others you mentioned? I’m still not sure what he stood for.

No, let Reform show the voters exactly what it is and let them choose.

Digging the dirt isnt going to work. I dont even live in Makerfield and haven't even heard of it till now. So I'm not bothered about what he's done or hasn't done before he's even elected. But the likes of Angela Rayner dodging tax now that does bother me.

How is it "digging the dirt" if he admits these comments and senior Reform figures support him?

At least he knows what a woman is ……..

And yet Reform are such an awful party for women. James Orr, anti-abortion is Farage's mate and advisor in Reform. Farage himself is against later abortion, no matter the risk to mothers. The party itself seems to be attracting funding from anti-abortion folk from the USA and the party has a few members who are anti abortion.

Let's not forget wanting to rid of Equalities Act (protects us all, esp women) and leave the ECHR (protects us all, including women). Don't forget the members of Reform & Reform MP's who have a history of violence towards women of which Reform have no issue with, and the lovely one where Nigel Farage thinks Andrew Tate is an important voice for young men.

And you are worried about transwomen and now the courts have sorted that. Nothing else?

Make it make sense please?

restoring financial security and controlling national debt, essential for economic stability. Leading to low inflation and lower taxes and therefore encouraging businesses to flourish here rather than elsewhere. Good economic governance. But he never really got going tbh,

Clav is cutting and pasting the same negative stories about Labour MPs over and over whenever Reform is criticised. I must say I always thought she was a Tory, not a Reform supporter.

No-one is saying Reform have a monopoly on repulsive candidates/MPs, Clav. But surely if the info becomes available before an representitive is elected, it should be acted upon?

That’s why it’s really important that people are fully informed about Kenyon so he can’t beguile them with his salt of the earth, honest plumber schtik.

Actually I am interested in the thoughts of Reform voters on this subject. He is on record as having some disgusting views. Is that acceptable? If not what are you (assuming you are a Reform voter, and apologies if I’m wrong) going to do about it. The greens have had to take action with some of their candidates, and rightly so…. Why not Reform?

If he keeps Andy Burnham out and not the next labour leader then I’m guessing most people who can Vote or are reform voters find it more than acceptable

but to be fair you aren’t going to find a politician who hasn’t got something hidden in the past
