If you are Reform are you ok with this repulsive man potentially becoming an MP and representing women in parliament?

Robert Kenyon, the “cheeky local chappie” who is standing for Reform in Makerfield is on record as making some shockingly sexist comments and statements. Reform are standing by him.

Can I ask the women on here who are Reform voters if they are ok with the him remaining a candidate given what I cite below. Btw I am absolutely not, but I’m not and never will be a Reform voter for a variety of reasons.

  1. Retweeting a post about performing a (graphic description) of a sexual act on Carol Voderman.
  2. He has attacked women as being promiscuous and accused them of taking any decision to have an abortion lightly. He wrote, “reproductive rights, women's rights, they can dress it up all they want.
  3. They're deciding to kill a baby inside the womb. What they mean is they want to shag anyone they want. And if they get caught, they get a second chance and treat it as a secondary, last form of contraception.”

Either you think this is ok (don’t understand how anyone let alone a woman could be ok with it) or presumably you’ll be contacting Tice and Farage etc to drop him.

Interested in your thoughts.

This post feels a bit of a labour spin post - let's focus on the issues with the other candidates to draw attention away from the comments made by Burnham in favour of biological men being in women only spaces.

I don’t think that wanting to distract from Burnham is that only reason someone could have got pointing out that this guy is an absolute wanker.

TheGreatDownandOut · 27/05/2026 15:36

I’m not a Reform voter, I am historically a floating voter but currently politically homeless.
Prior to the next GE, if their manifesto was decent I would consider voting for them (I suppose I could say the same about any party though) but stuff like this completely puts me off doing so.

You should see what some of the green candidates say

I doubt they say anything remotely comparable

Actually I am interested in the thoughts of Reform voters on this subject. He is on record as having some disgusting views. Is that acceptable? If not what are you (assuming you are a Reform voter, and apologies if I’m wrong) going to do about it. The greens have had to take action with some of their candidates, and rightly so…. Why not Reform?

But Reform HAVE taken action recently, haven't they? By suspending a number of councillors for various reasons - link provided to one of them.

Do you not do your own research, or does it not fit your narrative?

Well knowing what a woman is won’t help any of us if Kenyon’s elected, will it?

I can promise you I’m not Labour!
I get that other candidates may be flawed, but my question is about Kenyon. Why did I bring my boys up to respect women and not engage in Locker Room Banter? Because it’s the right thing to do…. Because people (girls, women in particular) deserve to be treated with respect. Is that not a reasonable and rational standpoint?

Great. But let’s focus on the chap at hand. He’s not remotely apologetic. He’s not distanced himself from the comments. And Tuce thinks it’s fine because that’s what working class men think. WTF…. Surely that’s pretty offensive to working class men?

I am not a reform voter, nor a Makerfield resident. I think these quotes are pretty awful.

But if I am going to steel man this: Labor and Conservative seem to offer candidates who say broadly sensible things, but also seem to be incapable of e.g., deporting serial rapists. Reform say horrendous things, but want to deport serial rapists (yes, I know that non-immigrants also rape. I also think those sentences should be longer. Neither of the two big parties has managed to actually get prisons built, such that rapists can face proper penalties)

It is not clear to me which of these is a better win for feminism. Neither feels great to be honest.

Viviennemary · 27/05/2026 15:50

Digging the dirt isnt going to work. I dont even live in Makerfield and haven't even heard of it till now. So I'm not bothered about what he's done or hasn't done before he's even elected. But the likes of Angela Rayner dodging tax now that does bother me.

I think most people want to deport serial rapists. Most of them are deported. The fact that some aren’t is due to immigration laws and obligations under international treaties. What makes you think these Reform wankers would manage when ultimately these matters are for the courts, not politicians?

But they suspended all of these after the elections which is a stupendous failure of alleged vetting.

They already know about Kenyon and are not suspending him, in fact they are defending him.

Good to see you’ve got your priorities right @Viviennemary. Fuck women, eh?

Piggywaspushed · 27/05/2026 15:54

Maybe this is the real reason Reform want single sex spaces. So they can get on with their 'locker room banter' in peace, eh?

Smeuse · 27/05/2026 15:56

He had at least 2 accounts banned on X, which does not happen very often.

There is a lot more he has said beyond his remarks on women.

So it's okay to make disgusting misogynistic jokes about her, is it?

BIossomtoes · 27/05/2026 15:58

The worst crime he’s committed as far as Reform voters are concerned is vote Remain. How embarrassing for them.

Well, yes. If you vote Reform, that is actually the standard.

i don't think this is acceptable at all, however i live in Scotland and anything to keep SNP out locally

The point is that Reform voters demand your respect but don’t want to give it. So yes, the whole party and the people that vote for it will be like this.

I have a feeling that would not be acceptable, even on MN.

That’s your non respectful assessment, Reform voter. Thanks for the clarity!
