To ask how you would feel about seeing a plus size woman at a fairly market beach club?

I don’t have much to add. I’ve booked myself into a nice beach club in the French Riviera in the summer, but I’m plus size and feel a little bit like I should just cancel the reservation.

Why on earth would you cancel it? You're a customer who has booked a holiday, not a ring girl hired for other people to look at. You're the subject not the object.

Don't cancel! I'm a chunky lady (currently a size 22, have a been a 32) having been even chunkier and I have enjoyed a beach club at every size because why the fuck shouldn't I. And I get it, I truly do, I nearly cancelled the first time but my friend refused to let that happen and it was absolutely fine

You deserve to enjoy yourself at any size - no one cares, they only care about themselves!

Buy some swimwear that makes you feel fucking kick ass, get a cocktail and enjoy yourself

All bodies are beach bodies. Just go and relax.

Put this song on very loud - listen to it on repeat and make it your mantra. Why one earth should you give one little fuck what anyone thinks about you having a lovely time somewhere you deserve to be just as much as every other person there.

I'm fat and I think I'd feel a bit intimidated, but not enough to make me want to cancel.

What I would do though is buy a very good swimsuit and several kaftans or long cover ups, a fabulous sunhat, nice beach shoes and some great sunglasses. I'd probably wear some waterproof mascara and eye pencil and some lipstick too, just so I felt I'd made the best of myself with very few clothes on.

I'd certainly make loads more effort than when I go to my local beach in the UK.

This is what I’m stuck on - I don’t know what to wear. I’ll have to get public transport there and back so it needs to be suitable for that
