I thought they changed the law and you had to be 18 in the UK?

Why am I not surprised!

It is. Shall I go through your posting history and said "oh look you said the weather was shit last year" there's proof that you were always negative, do you see how immature it is

Clearly thicker than you think if I’ve had to remind you TWICE that the girl earns her own money. I’m a gypsy and every woman in my family works or have our own businesses. I’m sorry that we don’t fit your narrative in your head that we are tied up and made to breed and clean all day. We have our independence and have the choice to do what the fuck we like. So yep education is not needed here, we will always know how to earn money we aren’t relying on no education to teach us how

Edited

You can ‘remind’ me as much as you like. She is apparently a rising social media influencer - because of who her old man is. She’s not earning on merit.

If you want to continue to be aggressive and insulting to me then crack on. You are coming across as a little unhinged.

Scarlettjune · 17/05/2026 23:49

Seriously do some people not know that the English are quite disliked around Europe.

Everywhere ive been, they always say that the worst tourists are the English tourists. That they are rude, nasty and loud

flabbypea · 17/05/2026 23:49

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 17/05/2026 23:33

was that aimed at me?

Oh well I will take the education i obtained over the last 50 years and go to work tomorrow to earn money to enable me to provide for myself so I can make my own life choices.

Yeah earn your money to pay for the house/cars you’ve got on loan because you’ve got a mortgage and finance. And when you’ve finally paid them you’ll be in a home until you die. What a great life 😏

Scarlettjune · 17/05/2026 23:50

flabbypea · 17/05/2026 23:44

Girl please, we are wired differently to yous. We don’t need anyone out of our own to teach us how to earn money. I started a business from nothing to the point I’m the breadwinner and have just started a second business. We aren’t no damsels.

I mean if anyone knows what the life is like, you do.

I am trying to be polite in reply to your aggressive comments.

But honestly I would rather be independent and educated - it beats marrying at 16 and spending your life looking after your husband and kids

Oh fucking hell…

She is making money from being a social influencer purely because of who her daddy is. Do you think anyone would care what she thought if she was just some random girl?

Who gives a shit how she got to where she is money is money. At this point you’re just not picking. You couldn’t care less about our kind and the rights of ours. You just wanna have a pop at travellers your not satisfied that the girl earns money because you want to think that she doesn’t 🤣

You are having your fair share of pops yourself. Clearly you hate non travellers and look down on them fuck knows why

It’s fine if you think being social media influencer nepo baby is something to admire. It’s a shit world we live in where vacuous people’s opinions are worth money, but that’s progress.

It’s a shame that girls are being denied the right to choose their own path, but I guess that’s common across the world.

What does that matter.

Who cares if she is only making money because of her dad. The point is she IS making money.

well lol i thought mumsnet was middle class !!!

(actually, no, i didnt)

Yes, next time I see a thread moaning about how mumsnet is middle class central( strange because I see so many threads where people are clearly not middle class or educated), I'll just direct them to this one.

It has really taken the biscuit in terms of how low people can go. I never dreamed that in 2026 I'd be reading comments by women trying to justify why they think girls don't need education beyond age 11, girls getting married at 16 is perfectly fine, and in fact no one needs secondary education.

Perhaps they'd like to dwell on their ridiculous beliefs and how they'd fare the next time they need medical care from a nurse or doctor, any education for their children, legal work when they buy land or property etc.

Yet again. I didnt write that no one needs secondary education. I said that GOOD edcuation would be helpful. Schools have too many people in classes and there is too much bad behaviour. The bad behaviour makes school a bad place for many as a learning environment.

I would have preferred to be homeschooled.

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 18/05/2026 00:10

Just for information, the correct word is ’you’re’.

I wouldn’t normally pick up someone for their spelling but if you are going to launch a personal attack, please try to spell things correctly.

As for ‘hating’, wanting young women to have choices in life is the very opposite.

Where’s the no choices? The girl has chose to get married so why you still fighting it? The girl chose not to sit her exams. That’s choice so what do you wanna argue about now?

Why are you being so aggressive? I would suggest you probably need to calm down. There is really no need for it. So she’s 16, married and uneducated. Were other options actually available? Or is she behaving how her culture expects her to?

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 18/05/2026 00:17

And people are showing CONCERN about removing a child from education at 11 and letting them marry at 16.

Did you miss the part where I explained that when she left school she was home tutored and decided to not sit her exams? How about in future you use that holy grail education that you have under your belt and use it to do some research on the matters you think are so important that your willing to sit up until 12:20am to argue about.

You're asking them to see the cognitive dissonance going on and to accept what everyone else can see. They can't because they won't. You could be here for years and you'll just go round in circles. X

Yes that is a good point - thank you. It’s a shame but I guess it’s not something that can be resolved.

What a silly comment.

Regardless of whether she’s 16 or 18, I’m wishing Venezuela and Noah a huge congratulations and very best wishes for their married life. Beautiful girl, beautiful family, Paris is one inspiring mother and wife! 😍 Venezuela will no doubt follow in her mother’s footsteps and be a loyal and loving mother to more beautiful babies. Will follow with interest.

Are you a traveller? If not then do not comment on other cultural traditions.

Ill comment all I want, challenging and eradicating bad things is always the right thing to do.
