So my neighbours teenage son has been smoking doobies in the garden with his parents consent. His father is a policeman and actually a firearms officer. I'm concerned that he may be using Ur at least getting high from the passive smoking. I want to report him to his superiors but DH is adamantly against it and says I'm being dramatic. Really between a rock and a hard place. AIBU if I report him?

You are not between a rock and hard place. You are between a comfortable, tolerant, easy-going life and a neurotic, judgemental busy-body.

Ok I'm out. That I find offensive and hurtful. Thanks for making me feel an inch tall. Good night

You wait 2 days to use the lawnmower after a glass of wine?

I wouldn't be annoying the cop next door, it's generally a bad idea.

NameChangeMay2026 · 17/05/2026 02:36

Sorry, what's "using Ur" and what's a doobie? Could you write in English?

12% agree and the sensible ones will be in bed now and the drunks and insomniacs skewing the results voting with a foggy head. By lunch tommorow igl be alot closer.

Which are you?

A drunk or an insomniac?

I see your rude creature and raise you your sweeping assumption of drunks and insomniacs.

At 20 to midnight she wrote this on the replacement chips thread

Guess il go back to the pub I just left and ask for a refund fir the 2 shots if sambuca I just threw up in the car park.

So god knows what’s going on.

Plus she cracked some joke about someone else’s spelling two posts later, then did a howler of a spelling mistake on here.

And she’s been rude, but accuses you lot of being rude.

Maybe posting late Saturday night was a mistake. Getting passive aggressive replies and nonsense. The poll shows there is at least a decent portion of readers with a moral compass. Fine he might not get high from passive smoke but he may be smoking it himself indoors. See my dilemma?

but he may be smoking it himself indoors.
That's hearsay, hun.

Fatiguedwithlife · 17/05/2026 02:46

wtf 48 hours u til you IRON?
Surely this is a joke poster…

This. I’ve certainly mowed the lawn hungover. I might even risk boiling the kettle tomorrow morning. Living life on the edge, me!

Boiling the kettle is fine. But please leave it for sober responsible adults to pour the hot water into a mug, the end result if you attempt to pour it yourself might be…..a cup of tea 🤯. The horrors!

Wow, this is the most Mumsnetters response I have ever read. Hyacinth Bucket would be so proud.

Edited

Don't feel the need to apologise on my behalf.

Poster accuses people of using drugs, being drunk and generally uneducated then wonders why it comes back to bite them on the arse.

That was me making a point about getting refund for goods taken and spilled. Tried to be humourous. How do I delete this thread please Isabella? Wish I'd not started it now I keep getting emails about this but I want it to stop. Thankyou
