AIBU to think this Green Party response raises antisemitism concerns?

Reported today that Rachel Millward, the Green Party co-deputy leader, has shared a conspiracy theory about the Golders Green attack in which two Jewish men were stabbed.

It emerged the Muslim Greens, a group of party activists, chatted on a private WhatsApp group over the weekend about launching a campaign to highlight the alleged failure to report Ishmael Hussein, the third victim of the April 29 stabbings. There is no suggestion that this idea has the backing of Mr Hussein.

The private group chat, which included Mothin Ali, the Green Party’s other co-deputy leader, suggested the “racist double standard” in the Government’s handling of the attack also needed to be challenged.

The Golders Green stabbings are the latest in a spate of attacks on the British Jewish community. Last week, Essa Suleiman was charged with the attempted murder of Moshi Shine, 76, and 34-year-old Shloime Rand.

Media outlets reported that he was also charged with the attempted murder of Mr Hussein in Southwark, south London, earlier on the morning of April 29

Ms Millward shared a post from the NewsCord account that claimed Mr Hussein had been “erased from headlines to suit a weaponised, desperate narrative”.
The Greens’ deputy leader commented: “How can this be? Three attempted murders and only two reported?”

NewsCord is an AI-generated news aggregator and campaigning platform set up after the October 7 attacks to challenge the “Western media” and how it was “justifying and manufacturing consent for Israel’s war”.

The Greens clearly have an endemic issue with anti-semitism.

The party is rotten to the core.

HermioneWeasley · 06/05/2026 06:29

Absolutely disgusting but hardly surprising.

How many more of these threads are there going to be?

To be honest, there isn’t a single thing about the Greens which makes them appear normal or rational.

They all seem like misfits and outcasts who don’t fit into society, have created their own cult and somehow duped the naive annd sheltered into thinking they know what they are talking about.

EamonnFyre · 06/05/2026 06:31

Doesn’t it strike you as odd that the third attack has been brushed under the carpet though?

tripleginandtonic · 06/05/2026 06:33

Surely all 3 attacks should have been reported?

Lots.

Feel free to hide them.

Twiglets1 · 06/05/2026 06:34

They just lie don't they? The third victim was mentioned extensively in the media.

Though the two Jewish victims got more publicity, only because they were attacked purely on antisemitic grounds whereas the other attack had a more personal motive.

It hasn't been brushed under the carpet it was mentioned repeatedly that there were 3 attacks.

They were.

I didn’t see or hear anything reported about the first man who was stabbed, only the two Jewish men.

All should have been reported on equally.

I guess I’d the Green Party don’t have a new scandal every day we won’t have anything to discuss

They are of different interest

violent man violently attacks his friend is less newsworthy and worrying than a man travelling across London to hunt Jews.

I can't speak for what sources you use for your information or what your read.

The mainstream media sources I was listening to/reading have all mentioned the 3 men. Though the main talking point has been the two Jewish men because of the implications of yet another attack in the UK based purely on antisemitism where the victims are not known to the perpetrator.

I think the third attack has been mentioned much less than the other two. I also think that people seem to be scrabbling about looking for reasons to moan about the Greens and Zack Polanski. If you don’t like them, don’t vote for them, but don’t bleat about spurious things which appear to many to be a completely legitimate concern. Anyone would think it is an orchestrated campaign against a minority party which might take some votes from the mainstream.

Plasticdreams · 06/05/2026 06:43

How is this anti semitic ? Why wasn’t the other stabbing reported?

HelmholtzWatson · 06/05/2026 06:44

The Greens are no better than Reform when it comes to dog whistling their acolytes and gaslighting people about racism.

Haven’t the Green Party now got 30 members they are having to investigate for antisemitism and racism? For a small party… that’s rather a lot isn’t it, especially all at the sane time?

I agree that the third attack has been mentioned less but that is only because the Muslim man was known to the attacker so falls under the category of a friend attacking a friend rather than an antisemitic attack.

The only orchestrated campaign about these attacks is the NewsCord one, the account that Ms Milliband shared a post from. As it notes in the article, NewsCord is an AI-generated news aggregator and campaigning platform set up after the October 7 attacks to challenge the “Western media” and how it was “justifying and manufacturing consent for Israel’s war”.

‘Scrabbling about’ and ‘bleating’’. Personally I am a fan of discussing politics in a democracy close to election time.
If people discuss Greens and Reform more it is because they are more extreme and their extreme policies and resident nutjobs more worthy of exposure.

Isn’t this exactly how they ousted Corbyn from Labour when he was high in the polls? It’s interesting how anyone perceived as a threat to the mainstream gets this slung at them.

I just read a bbc article and it only mentioned 2 Jewish men being stabbed apart from the court hearing where they mention the third man. The whole article is about antisemitism and the 2 Jewish men.

This man was just a nutter who should have been sectioned - concerns about him had been repeatedly raised.

Antisemitism being 'normalised' and not taken seriously enough, chief rabbi tells BBC

Chief Rabbi Sir Ephraim Mirvis says there is deep concern and anguish in the Jewish community following the Golders Green attack.

He travelled across London to a Jewish area to stab Jewish people. That's anti semitic.

We don't know why he stabbed the other man. I've seen it reported he was a housemate. It may have been anti Islamic. It may have been a personally falling out.
