I'm sorry but yabvu

My heart goes out to British Jews, always ❤️. Its terrifying, especially in areas with a big Jewish population. A man was just walking and minding his business and ended up running from a crazed knife man! Insane.

You dont kick a mentally ill person in the head when arresting them though?! He was on the ground already. It seemed racist to me, but i didn't want to start a thread.

Still, thats not the story. Hope the men are okay and well and know that Britain is on their side

Racist? hahahahaha

He's not 'evil' and hyperbole like that's fueling dangerous levels of discords.

I saw the footage of the police kicking the offender in the head (one officer did it repeatedly, 3 or 4 times, the other did it once). It is serious and I interpreted it as the officers being out of their depth because of lack of training/experience so resorted to blunt force (and swearing) - an emotional response rather than demonstrating control and knowledge of how to disarm someone. I don't blame them for that - they're normal police officers, not firearms officers. You can practice using a taser against a pretend suspect but it won't prepare you for a real life situation you might face only once in your career.

How should officers disarm someone lying on the ground after being tasered? I don't know and it's obvious those officers didn't know either. Perhaps hitting the suspect's arm with a baton? But kicking the offender in the head certainly isn't the right method and the Met should review the training they give their officers.

Getting close enough to hit someone who is still armed with a baton is putting your own life on jeopardy and risks the attacker getting your own weapon.
The officers followed standard military tactics which i presume they were taught during police training, so no they weren't out of control or out of their depth.
The fact that you are wrongly interpreting it as a lack of training and knowledge on the part of the officers and then go on to suggest dangerous and harmful tactics that could result in the death of the officers and other civilians shows your complete lack of understanding when it comes to dealing with terrorists and enemy combatents

YABU for calling him evil .

Given your usual dismissive attitute to antisemitism it's not surprising you like him.

AEIOYOU · 30/04/2026 13:04

LittleJustice · 30/04/2026 12:31

I did watch that video and thought what on earth are they kicking him like that for.

So I don't know whether he's evil or not but they shouldn't have kicked him no matter what he did. Once they had overpowered him.

@LittleJustice poor little terrorist who had just stabbed two men in the throat. What would you have done to stop him? Asked him to sit down for a cup of tea. Well done those police officers. This is what they are there for. To protect others and save lives.

Have you any idea how terrified they must have been? No, you don't.

If Greens do well in May it is because they are canvassing all the Islamist terrorists. Absolutely terrifying.

How many Islamist terrorists are there that they'd be able to have such a huge impact on voting across the country?

DrinkPupKitDrink · 30/04/2026 13:05

DeathNote11 · 30/04/2026 13:02

Yes they are. I was too (Army veteran) & no end of people who grew up on rough estates also know this. Go back to your embroidery.

😂😆

Terrorists? Probably not many to be honest.

Terrorist sympathizers? More than you think.

CerealNameSwapper · 30/04/2026 13:05

If this had been any other country the police would have just shot him dead and not waited to see what he did.

Instead, here are our politicians having a go at the police who only have a taser and their own bodies to stop murdering terrorists.

Blimms · 30/04/2026 13:06

KTheGrey · 30/04/2026 12:56

No - kicking an armed suspect who has just attacked two people with a knife is bad for armed suspects carrying knives. I agree it looks terrifying but it’s a trained response to attackers who don’t drop the weapon.

they’re trained to kick someone in the head?

Sadly not against terrorism.

Better than shooting them dead?

In many other countries whose police routinely carry arms, they probably wiuld be shot dead. Dance with the devil etc etc etc.I cant beleive how many women, mothers, sisters, grandmother's on this thread are expressing sympathy for a terrorist
A TERRORIST FOR FUCKS SAKE.

He's not evil.

The man who stabbed people is evil.

Start calling every ignorant plonker evil and you'll lose all meaning of the word.

Racist?!!

I think I’ve heard it all now. We really are fucked.

Out of interest, at what point during this incident should the police have diagnosed he had mental health issues, in order to properly assess whether a kick to the head was appropriate?

DrinkPupKitDrink · 30/04/2026 13:08

Blimms · 30/04/2026 13:06

they’re trained to kick someone in the head?

Sounds really efficient, better than arming police and telling them to shoot the suspect dead. As a wise poster has explained there are practical reasons for kicking him.

👏👏shout out to the police, we need more brave police on the streets. Thank you to the individuals who managed to disarm the terrorist. Hopefully he will be behind bars or a secure mental unit for decades to come.

Upstartled · 30/04/2026 13:09

Blimms · 30/04/2026 13:06

they’re trained to kick someone in the head?

No, they're trained to pacify them with sweet words and to ask nicely for the knife the terrorist won't give up. 🙄 Kicking doesn't put your vital organs on the line while you wrestle a knife out of a madman's hands.

Anyone who watches the footage and thinks the police were heavy handed need to take a look at themselves and wonder why they are performing mental gymnastics on behalf of a ‘suspected’ antisemitic would be murderer.

This is so ragingly true that it’s a wonder it has to be said.
