They had just used a taser on the offender, surely with that going through your body you might not actually be in control of your reflexes and therefore not be able to actually release the knife.

I am all for the police using restrained force especially while the guy still had the knife in his possession. But several kicks to the head seems to be beyond reasonable. What’s more they could be causing permanent damage meaning the offender is not able to be interviewed or even brought to trial.

What also seemed to be unclear to me was the man in green who looked like he was trying to help and remove the knife, but looked like he was more in the way? Surely the police should have told him to back off?

KTheGrey · 30/04/2026 12:56

No - kicking an armed suspect who has just attacked two people with a knife is bad for armed suspects carrying knives. I agree it looks terrifying but it’s a trained response to attackers who don’t drop the weapon.

We’re training officers to kick people in the head? Really?

PortSalutPlease · 30/04/2026 12:58

There has to be professional standards for everyone. People are detained by the police for all sorts of reasons - we can’t normalise the police assaulting them.

TirednessOnToast · 30/04/2026 12:54

Agreed. The Mr Polanski, who used to make a living by offering hypnosis for breast enlargement. I'm in Scotland so I'm aware that the Green Party moved away from being a responsible environmentally based party years ago.

who used to make a living by offering hypnosis for breast enlargement

Honestly anyone who believes this is either wilfully ignorant or just plain ignorant. It is literally not true. People really have nothing on the guy, this is the kind of rubbish they try and take him down with because there's nothing else on him

Thepeopleversuswork · 30/04/2026 12:58

Evil no. Privileged, misguided and delusional, definitely.

McPancreas · 30/04/2026 12:59

Anyone who watches the footage and thinks the police were heavy handed need to take a look at themselves and wonder why they are performing mental gymnastics on behalf of a ‘suspected’ antisemitic would be murderer.

Upstartled · 30/04/2026 12:59

There's a lot of ignorance from people who don't/ won't acknowledge that the murderous terrorist would not let go of the knife and the unarmed policeman only kicked him until he gave up the knife.

Colour me cynical....but surely all these people are capable of reading beyond a headline?

ainsleysanob · 30/04/2026 12:59

I’ve actively avoided being kicked in the head by the police. I’ve achieved this by not going on a fucking rampage stabbing people.

I don’t think Polanski is evil. I think he’s thick, dangerous, incompetent and appealing to the woke ‘hard of thinking’ who wouldn’t be able to recognise a brain cell even if they had one.

I keep seeing people really clutching at straws to try to put down ZP and the Greens. People obviously think they have a good chance of winning if they're reaching like this.

We've had 2 recent by-elections, Greens won both. They're going to do very well in May.

If Greens do well in May it is because they are canvassing all the Islamist terrorists. Absolutely terrifying.

They aren't, they have been brainwashed.

worrisomeasset · 30/04/2026 13:00

The attacker wouldn't let go of his weapon so was still a threat to them. They kicked him as part of their efforts to get him to release it. They were not kicking him for the fun of it. I'm grateful these unarmed officers, who put their lives at risk here, were able to apprehend the attacker.

You do know this was a fast moving heat of the moment situation? Not the best time to politely request someone desist from trying to help you, when your first priority is getting a knife off a violent offender.

So many armchair heroes here. Maybe they should join up, and show the police how it should be done?

HairsprayBabe · 30/04/2026 13:00

When I saw the video I thought the head kicking was a bit much, but also what if he had a bomb and it had set it off
Terrorist or not I don't think we should be cheering on people being kicked in the head.

(disclaimer I don't actually know how bombs work)

DrinkPupKitDrink · 30/04/2026 13:00

CaptainMyCaptain · 30/04/2026 12:52

Someone I know was seriously beaten by Police walking home from his night shift as a firefighter in the late 80s - he looked suspicious obviously because he was black. He sustained injuries which put him on light duties (ie not saving people in fires) and eventually got compensation. More recently a Sikh woman was raped and subject to horrific abuse because the attacker though she was Muslim.

I'm not in any way excusing the attack yesterday but nobody should be subject to violence or abuse because of their religion or ethnicity. Imagine being Jewish and going about your day in good old England and being killed for belonging to a faith and or ethnic group. Imagine being anybody that happened to.

Whataboutery at its finest. Disgusting and always found on threads about Jews being victim of antisemitism.

We see you. And I'm not even Jewish but hate manipulative hypocritical bs. Phenomenally ignorant fools these attacks are likely due to the lovely cosy human rights obsessed Iranian government encouraging if not coordinating terror attacks on British soil.

TheKittenswithMittens · 30/04/2026 13:00

Had you used the word "idiot" instead of "evil", I would have agreed with you.

nam3c4ang3 · 30/04/2026 13:00

Is this the guy who says he can magic bigger boobs with hypnotherapy? The green guy? No one takes him seriously surely - and they will never win. They would have shot the guy in america. The police did what they had to to disarm the idiot.

HRTQueen · 30/04/2026 13:01

He is ambitious and his ego is driving his ambition, he knows who to play to politically to gain that adoration

and that is exactly what he is doing

Very similar to how Farage does politics

Dollymylove · 30/04/2026 13:01

Seems to be a little too much concern for a lowlife terrorist rather than concern for the victims and how the Jewish community must be feeling after yet another attack
Some people should probably give their heads a good wobble

LittleJustice · 30/04/2026 12:31

I did watch that video and thought what on earth are they kicking him like that for.

So I don't know whether he's evil or not but they shouldn't have kicked him no matter what he did. Once they had overpowered him.

Same. When you realise he is armed and refusing to drop it, I get it but both officers give extra kicks to the head one as the plain clothes officer gets the knife or whatever and throws it away and then one kicks him again in the head as he is being cuffed.

I don’t think it’s for officers to be kicking people in the head. Remember that video from Manchester airport last year & how everyone was outraged till the full clip was seen. i guess its the same thing.

The tasers were absolutely useless though and they didn’t even have their batons out (I think it was yesterday!).

the met police tweeted it was appropriate use if force used to apprehend a terrorist so there we go we can not like the amount of force used but its acceptable.

mumofoneAloneandwell · 30/04/2026 13:02

I'm sorry but yabvu

My heart goes out to British Jews, always ❤️. Its terrifying, especially in areas with a big Jewish population. A man was just walking and minding his business and ended up running from a crazed knife man! Insane.

You dont kick a mentally ill person in the head when arresting them though?! He was on the ground already. It seemed racist to me, but i didn't want to start a thread.

Still, thats not the story. Hope the men are okay and well and know that Britain is on their side

Yes they are. I was too (Army veteran) & no end of people who grew up on rough estates also know this. Go back to your embroidery.

I am capable of feeling huge empathy for the Jewish community and disapproving of the police kicking someone’s head in at the same time.
