Do people on this thread not know that Zach Polanski is also Jewish? Because at the moment most people seem to be talking about Zach Polanski and Jewish people as if they think those are two separate things.

Saying things like 'Imagine being a Jewish man and... ' are all very well, but Polanski doesn't have to 'imagine' that because he literally is a Jewish man and he has as much right to express an opinion as any other Jewish person does. You don't get to pick and choose who counts as Jewish and who doesn't.

Zack Polanski is an extremely dangerous individual, just like Farage is. He knows exactly who he is appealing to with that comment. And it isn't people whose main electoral concerns are the environment and social justice.

The CCTV footage of the terrorist stabbing a 76-yr-old man in the face turned up unannounced on my insta feed yesterday and before I knew what I was looking at I’d seen it. I truly wish I hadn’t. Anyone else who’s seen it won’t waste a moment’s thought on whether the arresting officers were too rough. The man is vicious and still posed a threat.

l’ve never doubted that Zack Polanski is a bad guy. if he had any decency he would be apologising for and walking back his snide suggestion that Jews are merely perceiving danger rather than genuinely experiencing it.

i don’t think Zach is evil but I think he has made a Faustian pact. It’s handy he is Jewish - but even Hitler had Jewish supporters in the beginning. So the “oh but he’s Jewish so can’t possibly be anti semetic” doesn’t work on anyone with either even an ounce of intelligence or critical thinking. That’s clearly why he’s been put in that position. He is going to get more criticism than whatever it was that prompted you given that this is a thread about two innocent people stabbed on the street. Most will be with the victims on this.

It's nothing compared to the hate some of his candidates and activists have shown towards Jewish people.

absolutely agree with what you say. The anti semitism and these attacks on our jewish communities are abhorrent. They and in fact all of us no matter what our religion or colour of our skin or even sex/gender should be able to walk down the street without fear of being attacked

I am a Jew (‘fortunate’ - in the context of present-day London - not to be visibly Jewish) and I cried when I read the news yesterday. I also watched the video and had the same thought as Polanski. FWIW I do not admire or agree with him in general, and I do not think it is hyperbole to say that the Greens are harbouring some real antisemites, including one of my own local candidates.

I have no idea whether the police used the correct level of force in this incident. I think Polanski is an idiot so it wouldn't surprise me if he's wrong.

However, a politician holding public authorities to account and asking difficult questions isn't 'evil', they are doing their job- that's why we have MPs, to provide democratic oversight.

Disarmed and arrested him, obviously.

I think it unwise to comment on this clip without knowing all the pertinent facts.
Zack thinks people are not necessarily born male or female,that women can have a penis and should be allowed to access female spaces. He thought it wise to take money from a woman with the promise of hypnotising her to larger breasts........So not the sharpest knife in the draw excuse the pun.
This man had stabbed 2 people and would not relinquish the knife which remain in his hand so i think the unarmed police using force to disarm him was reasonable.
Perhaps taser,if available may have been a better option.
