Matcha, leggings with socks over, botox, yada yada yada

So bored of it.

This is nearly every mum in my area, pilates & matcha, botox and handyman & cleaner recommendations. No depth, no real worries..basic.

Aibu to want to meet funny, down to earth mums with depth and interesting pasts and conversations?

Tbf I could really do with a recommendation for a good cleaner and a handyman.

Have you spoken to any of them? Or do you judge them purely on the few things you listed? It’s unlikely that non of them have interesting pasts, or indeed can have interesting convos beyond their love of socks and leggings.

I wear leggings and socks to Pilates, the socks are part of the ‘uniform’ because it’s reformed so they’re especially sexy grip socks.
I don’t drink matcha though, is that okay? I also don’t yada yada yada so does that knock me up a step too? I’ve also never had Botox…
I’m quite a deep thinker and have lots of horrible worries.

I also wear leggings and socks, but when at the gym doing weights - I don’t do Pilates.

I don’t drink Matcha but I do enjoy Botox every four months.

Very down to earth, a massive over thinker too.

Is this bait? This feels like bait. I cannot believe anyone would be this insular as to assume what you’ve described automatically equates to no depth and no worries.

A lot of people are interesting if you actually take the time to get to know them. It's always small talk at the school gates and at the PTA bingo but, once you dig deeper, you'll really start getting to know people. You'll learn about their about their interesting pasts, their dreams, their struggles, what they believe, what makes them tick etc. I wouldn't judge a book by the botox cover.

So what are you going to do about it OP?

I’m not a mum but I have Botox, do reformer Pilates, and wear my grippy socks over my leggings there. I think matcha tastes of mud though.

OP, I’m all of the above (except I can’t stand matcha). I am also accomplished in my career, play sports, have a good sense of humour and lots of interesting things to talk about including my past and my bat shit crazy family.

I have friends from all walks of life, but none of them as judgemental as you seem to be.

Apart from the matcha, that’s a pretty good description of me. Why do you think women like this are incapable of good conversation and why is it boring? I’m bored of people who don’t look after themselves.

I often wear leggings with warm socks over them on Saturday morning football with DS… I clearly need to re think my life choices.
