Now he’s acting like a spoilt baby
Saying he won’t go to a normal beach and sit on a towel on the sand and he will only go somewhere he has a sunbed, a proper one

so now I’m trying to find places with beach clubs that are reasonable for this summer

any ideas ? don’t want to go to south of France again

Parga Beach Resort in Parga, mainland Greece, is on the beach with its own private sun loungers, plus pools too. We've been twice and I don't usually like luxury hotels but this is different as it's on the beach with views, hilly walk or water taxi into small pretty town with more restaurants.

Edited

We have also been there and it would fit the bill for OP perfectly.

Blessedbethefruitloopss · 19/04/2026 06:13

The sea where sewage, is dumped is better than a pool with chemicals that kill germs?

RedToothBrush · 19/04/2026 06:17

LTB and go on an interesting holiday which won't give you skin cancer.

Dollymylove · 19/04/2026 06:17

What actually is a beach club?

SummertoAutumntoWinter · 19/04/2026 06:19

Sicily has what you need. Marina di Ragusa. There were quite a few. I can't remember the name of the one we went to for a day but it was attached to a restaurant. They would bring you drinks and food or you could go up and eat at the restaurant for a proper meal. It was lovely.

What is your total budget? Without that info… it’s all a bit silly

He says he like it with a proper sunbed ideally with padding

and he likes getting his drink in a proper glass with ice and also being able to go to nice toilets without queueing

and having food brought over and music

He doesn’t want much flamin eck ! Let him do the research then

Don't you think it's nicer to swim in the sea ?

Ironically the sea might be dirtier than a pool, especially if it's the Med...

To be fair, that’s quite normal on a holiday. Don’t think that’s exclusive to the South of France.

All reasonable requirements. Can't blame him OP. Sorry.

To be fair, I gave just come back from a holiday where 4 of the 12 days were spent on a wonderful palm tree covered beach with sun loungers and food/drink delivery.

It has been 30+ years since my holidays have included something like this as I do tend to find the beach a little boring after a while but it was absolutely fantastic for those few days.. I really dont like spending all my holiday on beach in the sun but i dont mind a few days and when I do spend some time there, I definitely want comfort, access to shade and easy availability to cold drinks, ices and snacks etc

I thought that's what the sea was for? And surely you don't mean a poo? If a beach day is on the cards and you think there's any possibility at all that you might need to drop the kids off at the pool, you either force it out before leaving or plan the beach for a different day.

I mean, nobody goes to the beach knowing there's a chance something's cooking up. Do they?

Do you only poo on certain days of the week???

LIZS · 19/04/2026 07:05

Italy often has private beaches, depending what you are looking for other than sunbeds.

LiquoriceAllsorts2 · 19/04/2026 07:06

Look at all inclusive resorts, most will come with sun loungers and the more expensive ones will serve you drinks.

try looking at turkey (I recommend letoonia but lots of others look amazing too)

There are far nicer beaches on the med coast and the Adriatic, Livorno and Rimini are entry level.

God forbid our holidays are 'entry level'

FancyBiscuitsLevel · 19/04/2026 07:22

HaveCreditWillShop · 18/04/2026 22:41

That’s not the same as a beach club.

Why yes, but when I posted that, the op had only said his requirement was to not be on a towel on the beach. Needing a sun lounger is an easier fix than wanting full beach club experience, particularly if budget constraints mean the beach club requirement will mean the rest of the holiday needs to be significantly cheaper/less luxurious.

Oldglasses · 19/04/2026 07:25

Loads of beaches have sun beds for hire, some hotels have their own bit of beach w their own beds. I’ve never been to a beach club though , it’s not my type of place.
At 50+ I wouldn’t want to sit in a towel on the beach all day either. Those days have passed…

TheBeaTgoeson1 · 19/04/2026 07:27

He’s on the garage roof as we speak….

Wow, what a prince. Immediately pander to his every need.

FancyBiscuitsLevel · 19/04/2026 07:33

OP if you don’t want to lower the holiday quality for the beach club requirement - and if you have dcs don’t want to be limited to a day at the beach because it’s been paid for etc- look for hotels with private beach and a beach bar. Loads in Turkey, go on a travel agents website and search for luxury hotels in Turkey for families.

TroysMammy · 19/04/2026 07:40

I went to Tunisia and there were sun loungers for hire on the beach directly in front of the hotel. Quite cheap but my tight arse boyfriend at the time wouldn't pay.

Are you paying to go abroad to lay on a sun longer and do nothing else?

witte · 19/04/2026 07:51

Literally all of the hotels we’ve been to in the last ten years in Europe have had this. Only place we’ve layed on sand in recent years is Bondi.

Just pick a proper 5 * hotel

Comeinsideforacupoftea · 19/04/2026 07:57

Do you have kids OP? How old.are they? This makes a massive difference surely...

GreyfriarsJobbies · 19/04/2026 08:05

Jesus I never knew these were a thing, but having learned what they cost I think you'd be mad to not just get a nice villa with pool. You can then use your very own toilet, use your own glasses and listen to whatever music you like. You won't be surrounded by insufferable wankers either. I hear what you say re 'chemicals', but if you think the Med is nothing but H²O...well I won't burst that bubble.

babasaclover · 19/04/2026 08:09

I’ve not stayed at a hotel that doesn’t have a private beach in the last 20 years just book a decent hotel with that an go all inclusive so people will bring you drinks to sun lounger 😜
