Now he’s acting like a spoilt baby
Saying he won’t go to a normal beach and sit on a towel on the sand and he will only go somewhere he has a sunbed, a proper one

so now I’m trying to find places with beach clubs that are reasonable for this summer

any ideas ? don’t want to go to south of France again

You can find beach clubs on practically almost all beaches that are touristy.

Is this some sort of weird flex?

You can't work out how to parent him about this without coming on a forum?

Where? Where are you wanting to be? I could name you a dozen, but they would need different flights .

Book a holiday at a hotel that provides sun loungers? Sorry if he wants a specific thing, why can’t he research it or you go without him?

FancyBiscuitsLevel · 18/04/2026 14:46

Also many beaches on the med have someone who’ll rent loungers.

Pettifogg · 18/04/2026 14:47

Sorrento has those kind of beach clubs. Also Kalkan in Turkey.

Well yes… and although it does sound like he needs “parenting” it is her husband not her son!

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 18/04/2026 14:49

They have them everywhere in Italy - maybe try there? Could be a bit cheaper. They have them everywhere around the med I think because they can, due to lack of tides.

Itsmetheflamingo · 18/04/2026 14:49

any beach resort has beach clubs. I like Greek islands

ColinOfficeTrolley · 18/04/2026 14:49

Why are you looking? Tell him to have a look.

TeddyBearCottage · 18/04/2026 14:51

i do the the research into holidays as I don’t mind it and he’s fixing the garage roof

so fair

plus he would book the first thing he sees without seeing if it’s a good deal and basically waste money

Don’t want to fly too far as will be going July/aug

so anywhere in Europe

Absolutely! OP why are you doing the research, looking and booking for HIS needs and wants, what about you?

FWIW I hate beaches, sand, and those poser type beach clubs. So I don't holiday in such places ever. So there 😊

Edit to say I like private house/villa with pool, and if it comes with a naked chef/waiter for my Margharitas, all the better.

OnlyReplyToIdiots · 18/04/2026 14:54

Every so often I see a thread and think “this is most ridiculous thing I’ve ever read on this site” and then something like this pops up and takes the crown.

TeddyBearCottage · 18/04/2026 14:54

He says he like it with a proper sunbed ideally with padding

and he likes getting his drink in a proper glass with ice and also being able to go to nice toilets without queueing

and having food brought over and music

What do you mean by “beach club”? Most beaches in the med have sun loungers you can rent. I am with your DH, I hate lying on the sand.

I am imagining you ending up sitting in a deckchair on a beach in the UK, with him having a knotted hanky as a hat!!

Hope you find somewhere, agree his tantrum is not OK.

Banana Beach in Vasilikos is like that.

FancyBiscuitsLevel · 18/04/2026 14:56

Ok so rather than waste money on beach clubs, just book a hotel that has sun loungers? Or read if there are hireable on the nearest beach.

😂😂 I’d be quite happy with a deckchair

we’ve always been used to putting our towel on the sand before

All reasonable requirements. Can't blame him OP. Sorry.

Crushed23 · 18/04/2026 14:58

I hate just putting my towel on the sand and much prefer a beach bed, and I don’t think I’m particularly high maintenance - it’s a perfectly reasonable request!

He only likes the sea

he doesn't like pools
doesn't like the chemicals and germs

Yet another tiresome spoilt man child, and a fully grown woman running around after him. Why do you pander to him? I simply do not tolerate this nonsense. If my husband had such specific demands, he can sort it out himself.

I agree but at 100/200 euro
person per day

that adds up for family on holiday

oh plus food and drinks etc

that cost above is just the beds alone
