Horrible news that ambulances run by a Jewish charity have been set on fire in Golders Green today.

AIBU to feel it's got to to with the rise in anti Jewish hate since the allowance of horrible slogans on the weekly marches and in everyday society? What on earth makes people commit such a horrible attack.

You're placing the blame not on the perpetrators of the hate crime, but instead on circumstances. So yes, you are justifying it.
This was a hate crime commited by racists because of their racist feelings. Not because of something that happened thousands of miles away. Thats just the justification they use. Which you are condoning.

I'm sorry, but the resurgence in hatred towards Jews since October 7th is coming from sections of the left and from religious hatred from sections of the Muslim community. If you want to name where you think anti-Muslim hatred is coming from, then name where anti-Semitic hatred is coming from too.

The group in our society, and across the Western world, who are facing the 'brunt' of religious hatred are Jews. It is Jews who are being murdered, or subject to attempted mass murder attempts. I think it is about 20 attacks on Jews who have been prevented by security forces so far in the UK. Including the Manchester attackers who had military grade weapons that fire 180 rounds before needing to be reloaded and were going to target a march against anti-Semitism and then the Jewish part of Manchester. If they have not been caught by security forces, it would have been the largest terrorist attack in the UK ever.

Jews are getting the brunt of violent racism in the U.K. And the truth is all the murderous attacks, realised or planned, have been by Muslims. It is not Muslims bearing the brunt, it is Jews. Lets be honest about this so that as a society we can address it.

I don't know how anyone can support a country being totally obliterated and think they are on the side of "right". Especially as it's the only Jewish state - there's loads of Muslim ones. (Not that it's ok to be killing loads of Palestinians either, but I don't understand the support for the overall apparent Palestinian aim.)

I live not too far from there. Noticed extra security outside my local synagogue on the way to work this morning. So depressing.

When there was the threat of that mass EDL / ‘Take our country back’ idiotic day of action a short while ago, the local community came out together and lined the high street to tell the racists they weren’t welcome. There was a great photo a neighbour took of some frumers, young adults in keffiyehs and a rowdy group of mums of all creeds with kids in buggies, joining together to defend our multicultural community.

I feel like in even in the short time since then the climate has changed, antisemitism has become more mainstream and this might not happen .

This is exactly why Israel was created in the first place - because the world finally noticed what happens when the Jews literally run out of options. So much death and horror. I'm not saying it's all been perfect and obviously it would be much nicer if there could be more peace around the world, but we already have the case study of what a world without a Jewish country looks like and it's terrible.

Yes I don’t understand. Apparently Isreal doesn’t have the right to exist but every Jew I know is trying to go there because they would be safer then anywhere else, their kids won’t be bullied/ physically hurt by their classmates in Israel.

This is sad, I did not know there was a service like this. I hope they are able to replace the ambulances and continue their work.

However I do regret reading the thread as it's another platform relishing in bashing muslims, minimising what's going on in the world and basically being selectively prejudiced, and feeling justified in doing so.
