Ambulances Set on Fire in Suspected Anti Jewish Attack

Horrible news that ambulances run by a Jewish charity have been set on fire in Golders Green today.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cwyj1p49gdpo

AIBU to feel it's got to to with the rise in anti Jewish hate since the allowance of horrible slogans on the weekly marches and in everyday society? What on earth makes people commit such a horrible attack.

I'm 100% with the Jewish community and pray for peace.

Oh here we go again

Yes here we go, be specific about who are carrying out the terrorist attacks and don't implicate the whole British Muslim community. It's not that difficult.

No-one is implicating anyone, read the post.

"No, of course I am not saying all British Muslims are killing Jews, that's absurd. "

Cool, so you're also targeting Russians because of Putin, Chinese because of Xi, Saudis because Sudan, Afghans because the Taliban, Americans because Trump...

Agree.

And what has this got to do with an attack on UK ambulances run by a UK charity in the UK?

The only connection is in the minds of racists.

Where did she claim that for yesterday’s attack.
I think you are doing a good job for creating division.

That’s not true is it. I am presuming you mean Islam?

While some extremists will want that of course, regular Muslims, Jews, Sikhs, Christians just wan’t to live peacefully and get on with their lives.

ALL of the “non british” people I know have very mundane normal lives, go to work, pay their taxes and raise their families. Wanting to just extract one religion from the country is awfully wrong.

Yes I mean Islam.
Would you like me to provide links showing the terrorist attacks committed on British soil in the last 25 years by groups of Jews/Hindus/Sikh/Christians?
Blowing people up or stabbing kids because they hate us and our democracy and British culture.
Ergo I’ll provide the links showing the dreadful raping gangs who are Jewish/Hindus/Sikhs/Christians raping tens of thousands of white British Girls.

Here are the links.

Well colour me surprised. There aren’t any.

You are anti-Semitic.

You blame Israel for death's caused by a war Hamas started and think attacking British Jew's property in London is fair retaliation for this. You are both utterly bonkers and anti-Semitic.

Tell you what, you tell me what religion or ethnic heritage you are and where you live, then if anyone of that religion or ethnicity ever harms me in any way, I 'll come round and smash some of your stuff up. Then you tell me how fair that seems to you.

Beautifully put.

The ‘far right’ as you have called them have never had an issue with Jews. Most Jews vote for right minded parties.

The nazi party are typically classed as far right, pretty certain they had an issue with Jews, unless you are only talking about the way current far right parties whip up Islamophobia and thus appear to be siding with the Jewish community, there is surely a significant difference between right minded and far right

I’m not going to read the paper because I have no doubt that antisemitism is on the rise. I also don’t want to read a paper published by a neocon think tank and I don’t believe that not reading this paper constitutes ‘sticking my head in the ground’.

The rest of your post, I’m not sure who you are arguing with, it’s not in response to anything I’ve written.

I think we will have to agree to disagree with that! Unfortunately any research that doesn’t sing the praises of Islam is written off. Unless you are willing to look at the problem, however uncomfortable it is, the problem will not be solved. Honest conversations need to be had without threats and accusations

My personal belief is when you have Jewish Holocaust survivors denouncing Zionism, top tier Rabbis as well denouncing it

Who did you have in mind?

I would love to know who these top tier rabbis are because it’s certainly not the chief rabbi and it’s not any of the mainstream rabbis. The ultra orthodox rabbis who denounce Zionism are doing so do religious reasons and believe that there can be no Jewish homeland until the messiah comes. They are a minute subset of ultra Orthodox Jews, I think, the satmars who live entirely isolated from the modern world.

Holocaust survivors denouncing Zionism will probably be maybe 1 or 2 and most are dead. Most are / were hardcore zionists, believe in a Jewish homeland precisely because they suffered in the holocaust.

I am absolutely petrified of what has happened today. I usually give people the benefit of the doubt but for tje first time in my life I am beside myself for my kids. I don’t want them in this country any more, there is no future for the Jewish community.

The problem is, people say nothing justifies it - and I agree - but then in the next breath Israel 'defending itself' by flattening Gaza in a massively bigger display of violence is justified.

I don’t think that’s a good analogy. Whether or not Israel’s response to October 7th was disproportionate, they attacked Gaza because that’s where Hamas were.
They didn’t just go after completely unrelated Muslim communities in London or wherever.

Eskarina1 · 23/03/2026 19:45

1dayatatime · 23/03/2026 12:17

OK - let's clear this up. Islamo-leftism is a recognised political term to describe a political alliance between political Islam/ Islamism and left wing politics.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamo-leftism

Any reference I made to "Islamo" was made in reference to describing the two parts of this political alliance- there is an "Islamo part" and a"leftism part".

It was not Islamophobic just as it wasn't anti leftist, it was just a simple explanation of a political alliance.

I read the link. The link discusses how the term is problematic and has been hijacked by far right groups.

It’s totally up to me to decide what I do or don’t say. It’s called freedom of speech and I live in a democratic country. I’m Irish should I get upset about being called a Paddy? No, because I’m proud of who I am and I don’t have a chip on my shoulder.

According to the Guardian today, the synagogue is one that has strong, public ties with Israel and openly supports Israels action in Gaza. This doesn't make it ok, but it makes it less random .

GetOffTheCounter · 23/03/2026 10:57

Exactly. Exactly.

I have an autistic 16 year old who when October 7 happened started scrubbing his skin with soap several times a day until he bled.

I asked him why. he said it's because he has Jewish blood and he was scared that people were coming to kill him. He asked me if he could clean his Jewish blood away because he was scared.

I am so sorry to read this. I have a 13 year old autistic grandson who is also currently suffering with mental ill health and has similar worries. They are not alone 😢

This must be so distressing for you. The synagogue windows were blown out in the explosion as well, so a place of worship was also trashed. . Fortunately, a very serious attack was thwarted, recently, and the police are stepping up security for the Jewish community.
I can understand if you feel this isn't enough, though. 💐

I don't think it was ever "random". It was a deliberate attack.
They intended to destroy ambulances, and they did.

I'm horrified by the disgusting antisemitic attack in Golders Green.
I'm also pretty horrified that it didn't take long for you to conflate Jews with the Israeli State and to blame the Palestine movement that is protesting a genocide.
P.S. I am a Jewish woman, the daughter and granddaughter of Holocaust survivors.

I am also a Jewish woman and the daughter of a Holocaust survivor whose grandmother died in a concentration camp. I disagree with you that there is a genocide in Gaza. The horrific attack in Golders Green as was the murderous attack on the Manchester synagogue etc are a direct result of Diaspora Jews being blamed for the actions of the Israeli Government. And a lily livered government who don't give a fxxk about their Jewish constituents. No more, no less.

I can’t actually wrap myself around what world my kids are stepping into. Are we actually at the point where mass immigration to Israel is the only option? I have a recurring nightmare where I’m running with my kids and the border is closing and I miss it. Growing up in the shadow of Anne Frank and all that.
