Reform ARE racist

Not at all they are against illegal migration.

Verarubinrules · 03/03/2026 16:14

Same old same old misogyny from the greens. They’re despicable. People seem to be supporting them based on nothing except they’re ’the greens’. Not many have looked at their policies. They can’t have done!

Nofeckingway · 03/03/2026 16:17

I would be very much ProPalestian but definitely not pro Hamas . Not anti semite but anti Israel .And to deny the atrocities committed on October 7th is an insult to any thinking person's intelligence. Are the Green Party only interested in appealing to one segment . And what happens when the demands to introduce laws favourable only to their criteria .

Brightonkebab · 03/03/2026 16:19

she's dreadful. On twitter she once claimed Gulags weren't so bad becase people got an education there.

beefthief · 03/03/2026 16:21

On the surface, it seems very clear that she's been unreasonable. Is there further context, for example, there may have been a small window in between things happening, and confirmation of those things, and she tweeted in that window? I couldn't see a date in the article, so may be off base, but always happy to learn.

I am pro Palestinian and pro Israeli. I am anti Hamas and anti the ultra right-wing Israeli government. I think that distinction is an important one.

Left wing groups all seem.to support Palestine and Hamas and be against Israelis. It doesn't suprise me at all.

This isn't support, it's lying.

But please don't label all left wing groups or those with left leaning politics the same as this creature.

There are a lot of enormously stupid people around who don't seem to grasp how thick statements like this make them sound, especially to those of us who lived through the latter part of the Cold War and remember the Berlin Wall coming down. Many of them appear to be incapable of grasping that you can agree with someone about some things and disagree about another and that one disagreement doesn't make the other person an evil bigot who should be cancelled.

If a politician they support had done what Trump and Netanyahu are doing now, they'd have swung right behind them, just as Communists all over the world did when Stalin pulled out of his non-aggression pact with Hitler after the Nazis invaded the USSR during World War 2. Prior to that many of them had refused to get involved in the war because the USSR was staying out of it. They also refused to condemn Stalin for invading and taking over half of Poland by agreement with Hitler, who took over the other half. Tribalism.

Funparsnip · 03/03/2026 16:49

I advise her to go and watch “the killing roads”. Absolutely harrowing documentary about what happened that day.

Summerhillsquare · 03/03/2026 17:16

Can you supply some more anti Green stories from the same source? Or of a similar nature? Preferably ones that make no reference as to why the Green Party exists.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 03/03/2026 17:27

@Summerhillsquare, can you explain why the Green Party has swung behind HAMAS as it has? Are there no reservations about the conflict between the Greens' support for LGBTQ+ rights and the position of HAMAS and other Islamist groups on this issue? Why is it a natural fit for a party that was set up to focus on the environment? Why hasn't it campaigned more on issues like China producing cheap rubbish that uses scarce resources and will rapidly end up in landfill, while also having an abysmal human rights record? Apologies if it has, but that's not the impression I have. There are so many places around the world where people are living in awful conditions. Why is Gaza the one that grabs the headlines? Why have so many left of centre people found it difficult to support the people of Iran who want to see an end to their awful government and its terrible record on human rights? It surely can't just be because Trump's behind it, can it? Because that would be childish. 'I'm Lily's friend so I can't be your friend because Lily doesn't like you even though I do actually quite like you and I don't always like what Lily does and says ...'

NeverDropYourMooncup · 03/03/2026 17:28

Just another imbecile who thinks that being unable to report a rape happening because you were murdered by your rapists along with anybody else that could confirm it and be taken seriously (ie, a man) means it didn't happen.

Seriously, in what world does anybody think that rape doesn't happen in every conflict, every war, every insurrection, every rebellion and in every peaceful, generally calm and law abiding continent, country, region, city, town, village, hamlet and sleepy little cluster of people? It doesn't matter where you are, rape happens everywhere. You just need a male who wants to do it and it happens. It's always happened. It always will.

Stupid, stupid, stupid.

If you have been posting on this Abi Wilkinson thread, you may be interested in the long running sexism/other issues in the Green Party thread as that's been discussing Abi Wilkinson (scroll to posts from yesterday).

I thought I shared a link when I was Mumsnetting on my phone this morning but it seems to have disappeared.

Thank you for the link.

Why are women voting for this party?

Goodness knows @LucyWestenra. I love your username but then I would, wouldn't I?!

Seriously, that woman is an absolute disgrace. Shameful embarrassment who should just go away and shut up. Not that I agree with silencing women, but I do agree with silencing people who chat absolute rubbish.

DeedlessIndeed · 04/03/2026 10:09

I used to support Green Party in Scotland. But honestly their politicians and policy whilst in power were a shambles.

Sometimes they had nice ideas, but it was idealistic there was never a sensible, well thought-through plan to make it operational.

And then there are the bits that are just down-right offensive.

Yes, love your username too! 😁

Read the book and loved the original movie. Actually got to meet Gary Oldman earlier this year after his performance of Krapp’s Last Tape in York.

Got his signature and my husband took a photo of us (in which I look shell shocked). Proper bucket list moment.

He was so lovely and kind and his wife was too.

But anyway, back to the topic…I agree with everything you said.

LucyWestenra · 04/03/2026 10:20

It really is and I don’t understand why there isn’t more outrage.

And I’m sorry, all this ‘It’s the Daily Mail’ doesn’t wash, you can clearly see her in the photo screaming at police while waving the Palestinian flag.

OP posts:
DeedlessIndeed · 04/03/2026 10:24

I can’t understand why everyone is falling for Polanski’s rubbish.

Different people have different priorities.

In terms of hierarchy of issues, I guess the planet being unsustainable to support human life is greater to some than women's and children's right to be free from rape and sexual assault. The VAW&G in a climate catastrophe where billions are displaced will be unspeakably horrendous.

Not saying I agree, or that they are always mutually exclusive. But I think for many people Climate change has fallen off the radar and they think Green party are the only party who would take drastic action.

I also think there is an element of not believing Greens will get into power. But it could force Labour to not drop their environmental promises to avoid risking their share of the vote.

Either way, I can see why Greens continue to get votes. Far too few people look beyond the surface level. Many people are willing to hold their noses for a protest. There isn't a great alternative. And a lot of other people just don't care about.

As I said, I wouldn't vote for them again.

LucyWestenra · 04/03/2026 10:27

Growing up in Germany I am obviously painfully aware of my country’s history, which is why I cannot understand why over there people are throwing the Jewish community under the bus ‘because Gaza’.

It makes me so angry.

And I know it’s no better over here.

I saw a Jewish woman being interviewed on Sky News (in Brighton I think) and she said she still wears her Star of David necklace proudly, and apparently an elderly man commented on it and said he is hiding his under his clothes these days.

How is this acceptable?

What do you expect from the crackpot Greens. They're utterly demented.

LucyWestenra · 04/03/2026 10:14

I can’t understand why everyone is falling for Polanski’s rubbish.

They can’t be very bright. The former Director of the Institute for Fiscal Studies Paul Johnson tweeted yesterday that:

”Green Party manifesto promised borrowing on a staggering scale. It was wholly unrealistic and would have been catastrophic if any attempt made to implement it. They have doubled down since. They must now become more realistic.”

And that’s before we talk about their antisemitism, misogyny, lack of real care for the environment. Polanski is the idiots idiot, appeals the young as the young have yet to understand how issues like the bond markets reacting to prolific, unfunded spending promises (or antisemitism or misogyny) are deeply damaging to the society we try to live in.
